How to Spot an Unhealthy Relationship - Aligned Holistics

will's picture
The theme for my clients this week has been letting go of toxic relationships. This got me thinking about my relationships, wondering "What makes a relationship healthy?" It can be challenging to spot the signs when you're in the midst of romantic dinners, handmade cards, and mind-blowing sex.

So, I took a look back at the shitty things I've done and had done to me to present you with these 5 Signs:

1. Giving to Give vs. Giving to Get

When we love, we give of ourselves without the expectation of return. We give out of compassion, empathy, and mutual respect. In an unhealthy relationship, giving is used as a tool to get something in return.

DEAR FRIENDS- Let me begin with a radical and supremely hopeful point of view: There is NOTHING you need to worry about. Ever! There are simply challenges to face and creative solutions that are within you to discover.

Whether the steps you need to take are external (an improved way of handling a situation) or internal (a new attitude that frees you to let go and feel better) there is no need to fear. You can learn how to stay peaceful and always find your way to inner relief and outer progress.

We all know that worrying never solved a problem, and never makes us feel better. Worrying is a constant drain on our inner peace, physical energy and overall happiness. IT SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK!

10 Things Highly Intuitive People Do Differently

Intuition is challenging to define, despite the huge role it plays in our everyday lives. Steve Jobs called it, for instance, "more powerful than intellect." But however we put it into words, we all, well, intuitively know just what it is.

Pretty much everyone has experienced a gut feeling -- that unconscious reasoning that propels us to do something without telling us why or how. But the nature of intuition has long eluded us, and has inspired centuries' worth of research and inquiry in the fields of philosophy and psychology.

"I define intuition as the subtle knowing without ever having any idea why you know it," Sophy Burnham, bestselling author of The Art of Intuition, tells The Huffington Post. "It's different from thinking, it's different from logic or analysis ... It's a knowing without knowing."

Last week, the Public Health Service announced that they would approve a University of Arizona study on the use of marijuana for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

With this announcement, it seems that the marijuana plant is heading into unknown territory – federally-supported research examining its possible benefits.
But, is this really new territory? Yes and no.

33 Foods that Starve Cancer

Isis Ra's picture

“The obvious thing is to think about what we could remove from our diet. But I took a completely opposite approach and began asking: What could we be adding to our diet that could boost the body’s defense system? In other words, can we eat to starve cancer?”
- Dr. William Li

Cancer is the second most common form of death in the United States – claiming the lives of 1 in 4 people. While billions of dollars in high-tech research is conducted yearly, we just can’t seem to get ahead of the curve as more and more people are diagnosed with a number of types of cancers.

Napping can Dramatically Increase Learning, Memory, Awareness, and More

Isis Ra's picture

In some places, towns essentially shut down in the afternoon while everyone goes home for a siesta. Unfortunately, in the U.S.—more bound to our corporate lifestyles than our health—a mid-day nap is seen as a luxury and, in some cases, a sign of pure laziness. But before you feel guilty about that weekend snooze or falling asleep during a movie, rest assured that napping is actually good for you and a completely natural phenomena in the circadian (sleep-wake cycle) rhythm.

As our day wears on, even when we get enough sleep at night, our focus and alertness degrade. While this can be a minor inconvenience in modern times, it may have meant life or death for our ancestors. Whether you are finishing up a project for work or hunting for your livelihood, a nap can rekindle your alertness and have your neurons back up and firing on high in as little as 15 to 20 minutes.

The missing link - How to beat cancer with garlic

Isis Ra's picture

(NaturalNews) Your body has powerful infection-fighting white blood cells that are your arsenal for beating down viruses, fungi, bacteria and, yes, cancer cells. This arsenal of cancer cell killers relies on certain nutrients to have the fuel to do its job, and that is to keep you alive and winning the "cancer" war that's going on inside your body, and that goes for everybody, every day. Whether you like it or not, your body is a machine that is made to survive even the worst of odds or circumstance. Your body is built ready to use nutrients to contain, reduce and eliminate a tumor. Your body is built ready, with a very powerful immune system, but it's beaten down and "intoxicated" from birth, by vaccines, flu shots and dead, processed food. Your system can defeat cancer cells that may be developing, mutating, multiplying and going after weak tissue right now. How will you "fortify" your tissue, your blood? (

There is a special enzyme that the "bad guys" (mutated cells) use to multiply, and it's called "ornithine decarboxylase." You could block this enzyme, and it would be as if you were a general fighting in a war and you cut off the enemy's ammunition and supply lines. How much easier is it to win a battle or war if the enemy can't find its own fuel, weapons and food? (

Oregon’s Youngest Medical Cannabis Patient Is Now Cancer Free

Paediatric cannabis therapy is saving children. Awareness is the most important thing at this moment.

The anti-tumor effects of cannabinoids and THC have been demonstrated for quite some time now. In the 1980s, cannabinoid receptors were discovered in the human brain, which made it obvious that our body has to synthesize something that binds to these receptors. Our bodies produce these compounds in our own endocannabinoid system, which is now known to be responsible for a number of biological functions. This is why the plant has such a wide therapeutic potential for multiple diseases, including cancer.

Numerous studies have demonstrated time and time again the anti-tumor effects of cannabis. Studies have shown that cannabis completely kills cancer cells, and it has a great impact on rebuilding the immune system. Cannabis has the potential to replace a multitude of pharmaceutical drugs, and it remains a mystery as to why human trials are not underway. If you’re looking for these studies, I’ve put multiple links within the article for you to further your research.

In the United States, there are only two approved treatments for cancer: radiation and chemotherapy. Scientists have discovered that chemotherapy fuels cancer growth and kills the patient more quickly, yet nothing has been changed. Both are extremely toxic to the human body. Thanks to a growing awareness with regards to cannabis, and its high rate of success with individuals choosing to use it as a cancer treatment, more people are starting to realize the healing power of this plant. Coupled with all of the success stories, are hundreds of scientific studies that prove cannabis kills cancer, it’s really becoming a no-brainer.
