It is a common occurrence for ‘UFO’s to be tracked on military radar, and more and more people are starting to believe that these objects are of extraterrestrial origin. Apart from the congressional hearings on this subject, and the fairly recent citizens hearing that took place, along with the release of official documentation, there has been a surge in people believing that ETs are real because of the work of scholars like Dr. Brian O’Leary.

A generation in search of answers

There has long been a bug in the minds of the new generation — something doesn’t add up about the modern life path. We’ve heard it all before: spend some time in school, get a career helping some corporation produce and market some product or service, buy a house, start a family, die.

But this is the age of globalization, of the Internet — we grew up knowing that wasn’t all there was, yet still seem to be told repeatedly that it is. So some of us tried to go that route, some of us succeeded, and some of us failed miserably.

Whatever path we took, a lot of us found a large world outside of ourselves, and it is a world in crisis. The disconnect of government and economy from the Earth has broken the cycle of life and sustainability, the oceans are warming, the forests are in decline, and many species are going extinct before our eyes.

Many of us were looking for answers, but didn’t know where to turn to get started actually helping solve those problems.

I recently attended the 2015 Summit on World Technology, where I had the chance to listen to two days of mind-blowing talks from the pioneers of our future. One talk (in particular) really affected me, and left me wondering about the implications of what exactly it will mean if what was said comes to fruition, and that talk came from Rick Tumlinson, chairman of Deep Space Industries.

This system has risen to become the most magnificent and devastating scam of our lifetime. So, how do we take back our lives? How do we save the rainforests and oceans suffering from our ignorance? How do we salvage the lost connection to our inner dreams? Humanity is created from the stuff of the stars. All you have to do is allow the glory of consciousness to open like a flower in the garden of divine free will.

It would seem that among the readers of Collective Evolution there is a very clear sense that “something is off” that germinated at an early age.  This prompted a search amid dissatisfaction with conventional belief systems.

My good friend Michael Jeffreys, who runs what was the Santa Monica Eckhart Tolle meetup but is now a more general Advaita-oriented satsang in Los Angeles, talks about this often, and lists many areas in which he searched looking for answers until Eckhart’s books and his own quest led him to a recognition that conceptual analytic “truth” is always off.

I have benefited greatly from my association with Michael, mainly in terms of peeling away the many unrecognized layers of beliefs and concepts that I took for granted.

In my own case, this resulted from a sort of reconciliation with three disparate but in my view congruent traditions—cognitive therapy, the Gurdjieff tradition, and Eastern thought and what is now commonly called Advaita or Nonduality.
