How To Cleanse Your Aura

We may brush our teeth, wash our hands, and bathe our bodies every day, but not many of us know how to keep energetically clean. If we’re living a balanced lifestyle, this should happen naturally. When we’re overworked, malnourished, and sleep deprived, however, our energetic hygiene can get neglected.

Why is this important? Because when we look at our bodies under a strong enough microscope, we see that we’re essentially made up of atoms– which is energy. An organism’s energy is not restricted to just its physical form but extends outward in an egg shape. The egg shaped energy is what we call the aura and it can be witnessed using Kirlian photography. Just like the body, the aura needs to be taken care of to ensure optimum health.

If your aura needs to be cleansed you may feel:

  • Lethargic
  • Depressed
  • Anxious
  • A “heavy” feeling over or around you

Why I Chose To Un-School My Son

Now more than ever before our society is seeing the need to take matters into our own hands and not rely on others to get the job done for us. The topic of un-schooling has become quite popular and with good reason.

According to Wikipedia:

“Unschooling is an educational method and philosophy that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning. Unschooling students learn through their natural life experiences including play, household responsibilities, personal interests and curiosity, internships and work experience, travel, books, elective classes, family, mentors, and social interaction. Unschooling encourages exploration of activities initiated by the children themselves, believing that the most personal learning is, the more meaningful, well-understood and, therefore, useful it is to the child. While courses may occasionally be taken, unschooling questions the usefulness of standard curricula, conventional grading methods, and other features of traditional schooling in the education of each unique child.”

I couldn’t agree more. It’s about taking the reigns in our children’s education to ensure that they are not just getting a good one but they have the opportunity to see the great joy of learning. After six years of leaving it up to the system, my son lost that great joy.

5 Reasons Why I Chose Natural Pregnancy & A Natural Childbirth

When I became preggers, I instantly knew I wanted it all natural, no doctor, no medical equipment. I shared the idea with my husband and oh glory! He was 100% on the same page with me. I felt super supported and protected in my decision, and set out on my journey of natural pregnancy and natural childbirth. Here are my main reasons why I chose to do it this way:

1. Because I knew what I did not want.

And that is how media is portraying childbirth as some sort of war-apocalypse event when a thousand machines are hooked up to you, needles stuck in you, 10 strangers in the room, the doctor is screaming at you to push, and then, when the baby comes out, it is taken somewhere, and you see it only to feed it. None of it seemed acceptable to me. First off, I hate being poked by needles and other doctorly devices, secondly why should I be surrounded by strangers at the most vulnerable (in all my life possibly) moment. And lastly, I did not want to be separated from my newborn at all. Especially right after birth. All that just seemed so counter-intuitive and forced.

What Is Wrong With The 1%?

“There is something fundamentally wrong in treating the Earth as if it were a business in liquidation.”

Herman E. Daly

According to the latest 2015 Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report the top 1% of wealth holders now own half of all global household wealth, much of this wealth has been concentrated in the United States and Europe. A 2014 report by Oxfam warned that the richest 85 people across the globe share a combined wealth of £1tn, as much as the poorest 3.5 billion of the world’s population. (1a)

While most of us are aware of the inequality in modern western society it is much less known what impacts such wealth creation have throughout society and the environment. While there are many wealthy individuals whom contribute to various causes, charities and philanthropic pursuits there is no denying the growth and continued exploitation of the planet in an effort to increase wealth is having devastating consequences. Today much of this  wealth is now concentrated at the very elite and top percentage profile.

New Research Sheds More Light On The Manipulation Of Science By Pharmaceutical Companies

As we move through 2015 and into 2016, the medical industry continues to draw more attention for something that should be making national headlines everywhere. It’s the manipulation of science, and for decades it’s infiltrated medical literature that physicians rely on to treat patients.

A new study recently published in the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology evaluated 185 meta-analyses on anti-depressant medication, and found that one third of them were written by pharmaceutical industry employees. This is significant because most professionals who rely on scientific research prefer reading a meta-analysis instead of a series of papers on one topic. Previously it was thought that pharmaceutical companies do not fund meta-analysis papers, but...

5 Reasons Why Community Gardens Are Good For Your Neighbourhood

“The first supermarket supposedly appeared on the American landscape in 1946. That is not very long ago. Until then, where was all the food? Dear folks, the food was in homes, gardens, local fields, and forests. It was near kitchens, near tables, near bedsides. It was in the pantry, the cellar, the backyard.” – Joel Salatin

There is a growing trend of people seeking to connect with nature and create more sustainable local food systems. A diverse variety of urban spaces are appearing across the globe. Inner city vacant plots and verges, community gardens and roof top gardens have appeared throughout urban and suburban environments. Unused spaces are being converted into productive habitats which also help with community building. Part of the urban agricultural revolution is the development and spread of community gardens which are popping up in cities, on university campuses and schools as well as at corporate offices and industrial estates.

A community garden is typically a piece of land collectively gardened by a group of people in a local community. Gardens can be either owned by individuals, local councils, not for profit organisations or some form of community trust. Gardens vary from region to region but generally provide fresh produce and plants as well as fostering community and connection between local residents.

Have You Been Seeing 11:11 Everywhere? What Is The Significance Of 11:11?

11:11 make a wish! I’m sure you remember this saying, and maybe you still say it today. It is the only time of the day (using the 12 hour clock) that all the numbers on the clock are the same. Where does this saying come from? Should you even bother to make a wish? What makes this time so important and what is the significance of 11:11?

The Phenomenon

It seems everyone today is talking about seeing 11:11 everywhere. In fact, in the popular movie I Origins, the concept comes up yet again. A highly scientific guy begins seeing 11:11 in many places and is guided to follow the numbers until he eventually meets a highly spiritual girl and there personalities collide. It’s a fascinating film about reincarnation and it truly makes the view think. But back to 11:11!

Why are so many of us seeing this right now. Is it a biological thing where our bodies get in the habit of looking at a clock during this time? If so, what about when we randomly keep seeing it even on clocks that are out of sync with other clocks?

How You Can Prolong Your Life & Prevent Disease With Conscious Breathing

Breathing is an unconscious yet ever so vital part of daily life. Very few of us take the time to consider our own breathing patterns. Even physicians in allopathic medicine, me included, pay little attention to respiratory rate unless it is affecting our pH levels or mental status.

Our respiratory rate is determined by how many breaths we take in one minute. Increasing our respiratory rates is a natural response to stress and anxiety. This increases our oxygen while decreasing carbon dioxide in preparation for an emergency escape from something like a wild animal, per se.

Evolutionarily speaking, hyperventilation is an important life saving feature for us because we need more oxygen when running! Unfortunately, in today’s undue stress, many people now breathe 15-20 times/minute rather than the normal 8-12 breaths/minute that is recorded in medical literature. This is unnatural and if continued chronically, can change our pH as well as internal cellular activities. Scientifically, this means that we end up losing too much C02, thus reducing body oxygenation due to vasoconstriction caused by C02 deficiency (bohrs effect). This causes hypoxia and reduced oxygenation in our cells. Remember that oxygen delivers all the necessary nutrients to every organ in the body.
