7 Ways To Live A More Mindful & Fulfilling Life

Life is riddled with distractions and standards that lead us further into inaction. We seek media and technology as a means to escape the reality of our lives, yet that “place” is the greatest illusion created by man. It has been manufactured to promote our mindlessness and satiate our desires by perpetuating ideals, concepts, and advertising. This is warping our perspective and removing us further from our true nature by eliminating nature, entirely. This is because nature is the greatest conduit to understanding our divinity.

The further we distance ourselves from the laws of the natural world, the more we lose the natural understanding of our being. This allows us to get lost in the material world and allow our ego to guide us in trying to fill a void which cannot be filled. The natural world allows us to fill our hearts with joy, happiness, and love, all of which are experienced through moments that dissolve time and become imprinted in our memories for the rest of our lives. Yet, how do we change our perspective to allow us to see the magic of the natural world? How do we awaken ourselves to the divinity that may have been dormant within us? This has a lot to do with pattern recognition and understanding the traits that represent “divinity.”

Unplug Yourself From The Industrial Food System With Permaculture Gardening

"The greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter.”
Bill Mollison

Observe and Interact

Over forty years ago, Bill Mollison, with the help of David Holmgren, helped develop a blueprint for sustainable living. Mollison — an author, scientist, teacher, and biologist — spent many years working in and with nature. He came to the understanding that everything is connected and that the way we are living is killing us and the planet. He developed a system which integrated agriculture, horticulture, architecture, and ecology in a conscious effort to design landscapes which replicate the natural patterns found in nature. Mollison and Holmgren understood the value of observing nature. By observing nature we can design solutions which suit our particular circumstances while producing human settlements which are abundant in productivity (food) and pleasing to inhabit.

How Bitcoin Could Stop China From Becoming The Next Superpower Bully

Electronic money, or e-money, is to normal money as email is to normal (snail) mail: it’s simply an electronic form of value exchange, but with a key advantage in that most types of e-money are not linked to any particular country or government. Electronic money has made big strides in social acceptance in the last decade. Dutch bank ABN Amro’s CEO recently said that the technology behind electronic money is the next big thing in global banking.

The king of e-money today is Bitcoin, created in 2009, shortly after the global economic and banking system shocks known now as the Great Recession. Bitcoin was the brain baby of a mysterious person known as Satoshi Nakamoto, who posted the 2009 Bitcoin white paper on a well-known cryptocurrency forum. His paper described the architecture and function of the new type of e-money that he had invented. Shortly thereafter he offered an open source software package that implemented the white paper’s ideas, and, with the mining of the first “block” of Bitcoin by Satoshi himself in 2009, Bitcoin was born.

Perspective Is The Only Thing You Own

“Reality is only a Rorschach ink-blot.” – Alan Watts

We don’t truly have possessions in this world. We acquire things throughout our life, all of which degrades or gets passed down from generation to generation, but we don’t really have possessions. When we die, we cannot take any of them with us, especially our money. We can try to control as many things as we want in life, but the only thing we truly own and the only thing we can truly control is our perspective.

Perspective is what drives humanity. Perspectives create relationships and cause war. Most importantly, perspective can improve or weaken our relationship with ourselves. Perspective is the single most important thing that empowers you because the way you adapt to life largely depends on your perspective.

The TPP In 2 Minutes & Why It’s The Worst Trade Deal You’ve Never Heard Of

The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) is the largest trade agreement since the creation of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the United States has been engaged in discussion with eight Pacific nations to come to an agreement on the terms of the TPP. It is a free trade contract that would allow for a more open system of exchange between the United States and less developed nations, apparently, and it has been wrapped in secrecy since discussions began within the Bush administration in 2005.

This is one of many examples of global economic/political partnerships and deals that are happening behind the back of the public eye.

Below is a video of Robert Reich, an American political economist and professor who served in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, talking about the deal. He was also Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997.

Two More Countries Join Growing List That Are Banning GMO Agriculture

The battle against Genetically Modified Organisms continues to gain steam as two more European countries have joined a rapidly growing list of nations enforcing some form of a ban against the agricultural method.

Both Italy and Austria are now in the process of banning GMO agriculture, joining a list of European countries that includes France, Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Greece, and many more. The widespread action is due in large part to a newly created European Union rule that allows member countries to individually opt out of growing GMO crops.

The most impressive and conclusive action taken thus far globally has been by Russia, which followed up their April 2014 announcement that they would be banning the import of all GMO products with a promise to ban GMO products altogether by the country’s Deputy Prime Minister earlier this month.

Have You Thought About Permablitzing Your Yard?

What is a Permablitz?

The term permablitz is a contraction of permaculture and blitz, where a blitz simply means a focused effort to get something done. Permablitzes are always free, public events, with free workshops and shared food, where you get some exercise and have a good time. To be defined as a permablitz each event must be underpinned by permaculture design by someone with a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) – the most basic permaculture qualification. (1)

What happens on the day of a permablitz?

The owner of the property wishing to be ‘permablitzed’ develops a plan of what they want done to the backyard. The owner supplies trees, seedlings, and the materials required to install an edible landscape. People are coordinated via social media to attend the property usually on a weekend. The Permablitz team arrives and receives instruction from the owner or designer, who allocates tasks and offers guidance on what needs to be done. The team helps with digging and planting, along with any other activities that might be needed on the day. In return, the helpers receive lunch or dinner, practical experience, and the opportunity to spend a day with other likeminded people. Participants also get the opportunity to host their own Permablitz in the future. (2)

6 Government Secrets That Go Far Beyond Edward Snowden’s Surveillance Leaks

“A power has risen up in the government greater than the people themselves, consisting of many, and various, and powerful interests, combined into one mass, and held together by the cohesive power of the vast surplus in the banks.” – John C. Calhoun, the 7th Vice President of the United States (source)

There are a number of important issues that need constant attention and reiteration when it comes to creating awareness, and one of them is government secrecy, which is happening on multiple levels, so I apologize if you’ve already come across this information from us. It really makes no sense to say that we live in a democracy when, as former Canadian defence minister puts it, “The veil of secrecy has to be lifted, and it has to be lifted now … trillions, and I mean thousands of billions of dollars have been spent on projects which both the Congress and the Commander in Chief know nothing about.” (source)

11 Quotes From Buddha That Will Ease Your Soul

“The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart.”

The teachings of many of history’s religious and philosophical figures are timeless, but are often mistakenly taken at face value. It’s easy to slap a quote on an image or a t-shirt and pass it around, but it takes deliberate thought to actually internalize the true meaning behind the words, and often these quick philosophical ‘bytes’ are passed over too quickly for this to happen.

It’s easy for us in this day and age to be “spiritual” by identity and pass it off well without ever truly living spiritually — without  recognizing and benefitting from what we can learn from having a spiritual relationship with ourselves and this world. Because of that, it’s common to come across a great deal of logical spiritualists and fake ‘new-agey’ type personalities that don’t truly live the core of what these great teachers have shared.

So I wanted to share my own perspective on the true meaning behind some of these quotes.

“Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.”
