Moon’s Nodes move from Aries/Libra to Pisces/Virgo this week. This “reverse ingress” (Moon’s Nodes retrograde backwards through the zodiac) occurs while both Sun and Moon reside in the Scorpio sign. The feel of the Nodes changing signs, therefore, has a certain depth, and also a new sense of emphasis on endings and completion, wispy idealism, and steadfast attention to detail and work. North Node enters the Virgo sign with Mars also in the anaretic degree of Virgo. Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio, repeats the intense Scorpio influence regarding Moon’s Nodes changing signs. The Mars influence suggests that future direction and destiny at this point in time are aligned with a precise, energetic attention to detail and passionate work and service to others. Most certainly, the Nodal shift creates a more spiritual feel in the transits this week.

Sun continues his transit through Scorpio this week. Mercury enters the Scorpio sign overnight on November 1 (United States time zones) drawing attention to the watery, intense Scorpio energy manifesting via thought and communication: uncovering occult knowledge, discovering secrets – or keeping them, research, solving riddles and puzzles, and perhaps intuiting future trends and anticipating events or situations via the mind are within the domain of Mercury in Scorpio. Poseidon (Transneptunian) has been in the Scorpio sign for over two decades, and transiting Sun conjuncts Poseidon exactly on November 3. Depth of insight, intense experiences and encounters that reveal information or perspectives that allow for true understanding, and subtly, yet magnetically, reaching large groups and audiences has great potential from November 2 to 4.

Triple Water Astrology – The Anaretic Degree! Sun in Scorpio 2015 newsletter

SunentersSco10-23-2015WRIGC1

Sun has started his transit through the intense, watery Scorpio sign. The format this month will revert to the usual four topics, but due to time pressure I am going to use the ingress chart as the basis for the analysis. Will Sun entering Sagittarius finally give me a break? lol

The ingress chart is most interesting. Sun makes a conjunction to Apollon (Transneptunian) in the critical degree of Scorpio. It gives the impression of a magnetic, mysterious celebrity. This month is therefore somewhat geared towards more reclusive study and learning, although Apollon is also about making yourself known and presenting a persistent, upbeat image to the world. Apollon-Sun at 0 Scorpio is about presenting a powerful image of yourself, and teaching self or others in order to change your perspectives. Thus the Sun in Scorpio theme begins this year in a manner we will not experience again.

The new week starts with Sun in the intense zero degree of Scorpio. That is a very INTENSE place in the zodiac for the Sun, and he conjuncts Apollon, also at 0 Scorpio, on October 23. Apollon in the heart of the Sun has potential as a most enjoyable experience. Learning, teaching, images of magnetic and mysterious famous people, and multiplication of wealth are potent themes dominating the transits for a short time at the beginning of the week. Looking good and being seen, showing personal charm, and letting your light shine intensely and brightly is an uplifting theme that starts the week. (Credit to astrologer Eileen Nauman for ideas about Apollon.)

Very appropriately and timely this week, with the Sun in Scorpio ingress, is Pluto in Capricorn aspecting five planets, additionally aspecting the Moon during brief periods, including a square to Moon in Aries on October 25, and also squaring Juno (asteroid lady). Pluto has a feel of being “all things to all people” this week. He makes a harmonious trine to his aggressive soldier, Mars; he’s expanded by the same aspect to Jupiter; Venus’ ease also links harmoniously with Pluto’s magnetic power; and Pluto is at the focal point of a cardinal t-square with Mercury and Mercury’s tutor, Uranus, literally introducing “brainpower” into the mix of energies in the transits this week. (Juno – relatedness – is conjunct Mercury and therefore she also squares Pluto.) No doubt that use of keen perspectives and transformation of self, others, and situations top the list of themes in the transits this week, particularly pertaining to public life, career, and the formation of structure, with Pluto in Saturn’s domain, Capricorn.

A theme of planetary pairs dominates the transits this week. Moon and Saturn, conjunct in Sagittarius on October 16, set the tone for the focus on planetary pairs. The dour Saturn and subtle, feminine Moon both place a focus on the past, of great interest as Moon’s Nodes prepare to leave the initiating Aries/Libra axis. The only unconnected pair is Sun and Jupiter (Jupiter is a minor Sun), although they are in consecutive signs. Mercury swings into an opposition with his tutor, Uranus, by the end of the week, placing an emphasis on brainpower and knowledge. Venus remains in an opposition with her spiritual teacher, Neptune, all week, with an exact opposition on October 17. The two form an amazing opposition, literally saying that the smallest, most humble act of kindness, service, or attention to detail is a first step to reaching Neptune’s greater collective, spirituality, and bliss. Also of great potential use is the Mars-Pluto trine – energy, drive, and will flow smoothly with Pluto’s penchant for transformation and raw power. In earth signs, they are particularly favorable for work and career endeavors.

Uranus and Neptune are now the only two retrograde planets in the heavens. This recalls the current overarching theme of the struggle and connection between the two: time groans slowly forward and carries us closer to Neptune releasing his influence to Uranus and the Age of Aquarius. Of interest and perhaps relief to some people, Mercury in Libra is no longer retrograde. Thought and communication, particularly in a social context, feels more “normal”. However, Mercury retrograde’s better features may have been savored by those who diligently took advantage of the opportunities. (Deep and meaningful communication and initiating extensive networking efforts, to name a few.) Sun in Libra forms a t-square with Uranus and Pluto this week. While Pluto is the focal point of the cardinal t-square, the most direct aspect among the three planets is the Sun-Uranus opposition. With core consciousness touching both Uranus’ revolution and Pluto’s transformation by hard aspects, this week is largely about change. Disruption and upheaval might be unpleasant – but perhaps Sun in Libra is suggesting that teamwork is one antidote to managing the two outer titans’ more undesirable effects. No doubt that opportunities exist via the difficulties. Taking the initiative and finding ways to make change constructive can significantly push personal and professional goals forward this week.

Sun in Libra moving forward in Venus’ airy sign forms a cardinal t-square with Uranus and Pluto this week, and Sun clashing with the two outer titans of change is only the beginning of the tense aspects in the heavens currently forming. Mars and Venus form tough squares to Saturn, and Mars-Venus and Jupiter also oppose the idealistic, illusory Neptune. The strain, effort, and work that the hard aspects (oppositions, squares) demand also suggest the greatest opportunities to productively move forward with various personal and professional goals.

Mars and Jupiter conjunct in Virgo this week, which is of interest in itself…and additionally the pair forms a strong trine to Mars’ overlord, Pluto, in Capricorn. Tangible, detail-oriented action describes Mars in Virgo, who receives a boost from his overlord, Pluto (energy flows well with raw power). Additionally, Jupiter expands the Mars-Pluto planetary pair. What a potent trio! Do all of the tense aspects in the heavens stand a chance of restraining the earthy force of Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto combined? Sharp perspectives and competitive activity help to push objectives forward this week, particularly useful in expanding interests in work and career.

Mars, Saturn, and Neptune form a mutable t-square for the duration of this week, which becomes an ephemeral grand cross when the quickly transiting Moon enters the Gemini sign at the end of the week, October 1. The t-square and especially the grand cross have a karmic flavor, courtesy of Moon and Saturn. The aggressive Mars adds his passionate and active influence to the pattern via the earthy Virgo sign, and the cool, transcending Neptune in his home sign Pisces dominates the pattern as the strongest planet by sign. While the pattern can hardly be described as easy, many useful themes emerge from the tense aspects among the mighty planets. The inspiration to surmount obstacles despite the difficulties is certainly a salient theme this week. Overcoming past difficulties might be as well – can you finally cross the finish line somehow this week? Jupiter in Virgo has a subtle influence among the pattern formed by Moon, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune, but perhaps he holds the key to dealing with the tense energies. Can seeing both the forest (big picture) and the trees (details) generate the results you need? The idea of personal growth combined with expanding limits is another relevant idea for this week.

Sun, the mighty core of the solar system, moves from the earthy Virgo sign into the airy Libra sign at the end of this week. Mars also changes signs, moving from Sun’s sign, Leo, to Virgo, Mercury’s sign. Mars typically likes to be solo or dominant, however, he probably doesn’t mind Jupiter’s influence via their conjunction in early Virgo. Jupiter expands Mars’ qualities, creating an inflated sense of aggressively handling details, and expanded assertion and drive at work. Mars entering Virgo also creates an exact square with Saturn in Sagittarius, with both planets intensely manifesting their energies at 0 degrees of their signs. While Mars square Saturn contains inherent difficulties, the opportunities for accomplishment are enormous. An overarching sense of discipline and structure in tension with ambition and desire is favorable for achieving success in spite of any obstacles.

The week begins with Moon edging out of Leo on September 11 and forming a stellium with Sun and Jupiter in Virgo early in the week. No doubt that thinking about work, service to others, careful attention to details, and solving problems with analysis is prominent with the luminaries expanded by Jupiter in Mercury’s earthy sign. Neptune and Chiron oppose the Virgo stellium, creating a strong theme of ‘service and sacrifice’ early in the week (credit to Carol Rushman for the term) and gives the first several days of the week an inspirational, healing, and spiritual feel.

Saturn leaves Pluto’s sign, Scorpio, at the very end of the week. Saturn will not see Scorpio again for about another 29 years. An item that must not be overlooked is that Saturn and Pluto will not be in each other’s signs again for a vast stretch of time! No doubt that the ‘behind the scenes authority’ theme of the two in mutual reception is tough (and remains as a less prominent theme in the transits with Pluto still in Capricorn). One might also ask, how were you able to expand your limits over the past few years and increase your sense of perspectives and personal power? Saturn can be very rewarding when we respond to his demands, indeed, and occasionally a planet beyond him complements the reward handsomely.
