This is a busy week in the Gemini sign! Mars is already in early Gemini, and Mercury in his home sign, Gemini, will retrograde this week. The Moon also saunters through Gemini for a few days and very importantly, Sun enters Gemini at the end of the week. Potentially productive activities this week include use of assertive communication, actively networking, and ambitiously gathering information. Mercury’s retrograde quality is nothing to be feared! He is saying a second or third effort might be worth the trouble, and even return a more favorable result than success on the first try.

The struggle between Mercury and Neptune, both in their home signs, continues this week. Mars’ drive, ambition, and will acts with Mercury’s logic and thought, and both are in tension with the planet of inspiration and imagination. Mercury additionally takes on some of the qualities of nearby Mars, as Mercury is a neutral planet. Thus a lot of willful energy for socializing and step-by-step problem solving is available. Neptune’s better qualities (creativity, for example) can be part of the Mercury-Mars theme, given the effort. Be wary of misunderstandings and expending energy in vain, however!

This week begins with seven of the ten planets residing in six consecutive signs, from Neptune in Pisces to Jupiter in Leo. Neptune and Jupiter also form a vague aspect at the beginning of the week, suggesting an emphasis on spirituality.

Mars changes signs at mid-week and his opposition to Saturn additionally becomes an opposition by sign. Mars opposition Saturn can be tough, but also signifies a rugged determination and will to succeed despite the obstacles. Mercury is opposite Saturn all week, calling additional attention to Saturn’s demand for structure. The trio forms the base of a double mutable t-square with Neptune. Creativity and spiritual experiences can result from disciplined thought and action, for those willing to make the effort.

Juno finally catches up to Jupiter at the end of the week. A long run of enjoying abundance in close relationships reaches its highest point on May 14.

So much chatter about the full Moon in Scorpio on May Fourth! Moon will just miss a conjunction to Poseidon as she goes completely full. A nice trine to Neptune and square to Jupiter give plenty of spiritual potential to the intense full Moon in Pluto’s sign. Perhaps Poseidon’s enlightenment and wisdom also acts in unity with the Moon a bit as well. Fierce determination in expanding into a new role regarding one’s own personal power and unconscious perspectives welling to the surface to be used to realize sharp insights are just a few of the possibilities at mid-week with the Scorpio full Moon. Planetary aspects suggest using the energy to “expand spirituality”. Definitely a potentially creative and uplifting energy, from the most intense part of the zodiac.

The quick, mischievous Mercury, in his home sign Gemini, starts to wrestle with Neptune, also at home in Pisces. The diffuse, transcendent Neptune in tension with Mercury’s love of information and socializing can be reconciled into many productive uses. Given the effort, consider themes such as “creative networking”, “imaginative thought”, and inspiration via siblings or those close enough to be considered siblings.

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

This week begins with most of the planets in consecutive signs, from Neptune in Pisces to Jupiter in Leo, with the quickly-moving Moon in her dominion, Cancer. Sun and Mars in Taurus signify energetic persistence and conscious endurance, quite useful for making significant progress with major projects, especially with Mars making a nice trine to his overlord, Pluto (energy in harmony with power).

Mercury and Venus are also in each other’s signs this week. Mercury’s thought and communication and Venus’ harmony and cooperation are constantly bouncing off of each other, and opportunities from the duo abound (networking, brainstorming, using logic in collaborative efforts, and more opportunities to exchange information with other people than usual). Venus and Jupiter, the benefics, form a yod pattern pointing to Pluto at the beginning of the week as well, creating opportunities to expand power through cooperation, experience ease and abundance through sharp perspectives, and use growth experiences from balancing with others that lead to personal transformation.

Triple Water Astrology – The Anaretic Degree! Sun in Taurus Newsletter/2015

Sun enters Venus’ sign this year in a powerful manner. Looking at the ingress chart, Mercury (thought and communication) and Venus (cooperation and collaboration) are in mutual reception, in other words, in each other’s signs. Both aspect Neptune (creativity, imagination, the ideal) in his home sign, Pisces. Concrete communication meets with intellectual collaboration, with a spiritual element mixed with the two. Sun in Taurus signifies concentrating energy (the modality of Taurus is fixed), suggesting heightened endurance and a focus on the material that can be implemented to help complete projects. Mars is a bit out of place in the Taurus sign, but he is still Mars; the qualities of Taurus that fit Venus well are not overly suitable for Mars, but, he forms a nice aspect with his overlord’s (Pluto’s), linking energy to power. Neptune is also an overtone of Venus, and the ingress shows nice opportunities at the beginning of the month with energy and power in harmony; and given the work and effort, cooperating with individuals might lead to merging with a greater collective.

Mercury and Venus might also be in mutual reception towards the middle of the zodiacal year (Sun must be between Leo and Sagittarius, inclusive) when Mercury is in Libra and Venus is in Virgo. The advantage of planets in mutual reception is that they are always “bouncing off” of each other. Therefore, expect an emphasis on being social, people looking sharp, and exchanging more detailed information and intellectual type discussions than usual with Mercury-Venus. Mars-Pluto and Venus-Neptune create additional opportunities for relating to others and using energy and developing perspectives and personal power. Many variations and subthemes in the heavens this month.

Let’s see what the transits might portend…

Sun leaves his exaltation (sign he is most easily able to express his energy) in Aries this week and enters the Taurus sign on April 20. That will be a prime day for all of the signs to expand and multiply various activities and projects, and increase popularity and reknown. Four of the ten planets will be in Taurus that day, including both Sun and Moon, creating a Venusian theme of earthy elegance, endurance, and tangible collaboration. Quite a day for moving projects forward to completion!

Venus squares her spiritual teacher, Neptune, and Mars trines his overlord, Pluto, throughout the week, creating a useful and interesting theme of planetary pairs. Cooperation leads to merging with a greater collective, through difficult work, and energy meets power with relative ease. The “controlled expansion” theme symbolized by Jupiter aspecting Saturn slips away this week, but Jupiter’s abundance is active with subtle but strong aspects to Pluto and Neptune. Consider taking actions that work with Jupiter’s expansion of bliss and power.

Transiting Sun continues to move through Aries this week and he edges rather close to the end of the first sign of the zodiac by the week’s end. Meanwhile, both Mercury and Venus change signs, in the midst of several long-standing themes among the slower moving planets. Opportunities abound! Venus in Gemini, Mercury’s sign, suggests a new emphasis on social networking (not necessarily limited to the internet), and Mercury in Taurus – Venus’ sign – is persistent and grounded, a solid basis for using logic and communicating. Mercury and Venus in each other’s signs create strong “cooperative commerce” and “collaborative networking” type themes this week.

Jupiter and Saturn’s trine in fire signs is slowly crawling to an end, but the “controlled expansion” theme and Saturn and Neptune’s “making dreams into a reality” through difficult work makes Saturn a popular planet this week and complements the Mercury-Venus theme well.

The fire element continues to dominate the transits this week. The heavens also continue to show a dearth of the air element. Of major interest is Jupiter going direct this week, and Mercury conjuncting his tutor Uranus exactly on April 8. Sun, Mercury, and Uranus form a spectacular stellium on that day (aggressive, brilliant thinking; consciously assertive and innovative communication and ideas), and five of the planets will be within about forty degrees of each other by the end of the week (with Mars and Venus in Taurus).

This week also has characteristics of determination and will to succeed, despite the costs (Mars aspecting Saturn) and Jupiter’s aspect to Pluto creates wedge patterns with the Aries stellium – signaling abundant change? This raises potential for a very dynamic week.

What might this week portend for you? Consider your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant as well.

We will experience Mars leaving his dominion, Aries, this week, and Vesta enters Pisces as well, creating an even greater lack of representation of the air element in the heavens. Mercury enters the Aries sign just before Mars egresses. Lack of air doesn’t necessarily imply lack of thought. Sun in exaltation draws closer to the genius of the zodiac, Uranus, and Mercury hints at a conjunction with his tutor, Uranus, by the end of the week. Feisty debates, active communication, and insights gained through actively seeking answers are all more dominant themes this week with Mercury and Uranus together in Mars’ sign.

Jupiter and Saturn still aspect in the other fire signs, continuing the “controlled expansion” theme this week. Jupiter and Saturn form fiery grand trines with Sun and Mercury, indicating ample energy for initiating projects and being an active participant in various areas of life.

Cycles ending, cycles beginning…the current zodiacal year ends with a spectacular solar eclipse in the anaretic degree of Pisces. Literally hours later on March 20, the new zodiacal year begins with the Spring Equinox – Sun at 0 degrees Aries.

“May you live in interesting times” is an appropriate quote for this week, it seems. What cycles in your life are ending, and what activities and projects are you starting? Neptune, Mars, and Venus are in their home signs – and in consecutive signs, Pisces, Aries, and Taurus. Neptune seems to be guarding cyclical ends right now…a necessary part of a cycle to experience. Have your dreams drawn closer to reality under Saturn and Neptune’s watch? How will you use your personal energy (Mars) to start fresh and move forward with something new? Who will help you build (Venus in Taurus) something of value after new cycles are activated? Thinking about transformation, fortunately, is under Jupiter’s watch at the beginning of the week, with Mercury and Pluto forming a yod pointing to the benefic Jupiter. While experiencing the end of a cycle can be enervating or sad, the realization that something better can be constructed, cogitated, and initiated in a fresh cycle is invigorating because the new cycle builds on previous cycles, especially the last one. This week the heavens are saying, go for it!
