The Importance of Sunlight and Daily Exercise

“When the sun is shining I can do anything; no mountain is too high, no trouble too difficult to overcome.” ~Wilma Rudolph

Although humans evolved as Hunter-Gatherers, in terms of the historical time-scale, Modern Man has only rather recently made the abrupt shift from an Active Outdoor Lifestyle to his present Sedentary and Artificial Indoor Way of Life. Physiologically, we thus exist in a state of “Natural Environmental Amnesia.” Although essentially Outdoor Hunters and Gatherers, we attempt to function normally in “Unnatural” Indoor Spaces. Accordingly, we spend most of our time sitting… sitting in the car, sitting in the office, sitting in the bathroom, and sitting on the couch at home. With this in mind, the need for regular Daily Physical Activity should be obvious.

Spirulina: One of the Most Concentrated Forms of Organic Food on the Planet

The microscopic Blue-Green Algae, Spirulina, is one of the most concentrated forms of organic food on the Planet! It is composed of 62 to 71 percent Protein, 10 percent Carbohydrates, 7 percent Fiber, and 9 percent Minerals. It is also the highest whole-food source of Vitamin B-12 available. Spirulina is 95 percent digestible, and contains all nine Essential Amino Acids – plus nine Non-Essential Ones. It is 25 times richer in Beta Carotene than carrots, has 28 times more Iron than beef liver, and 56 times more Iron than spinach or steak. Spirulina is rich in Glycogen, and higher in Chlorophyll than either alfalfa or wheat grass. For these reasons NASA has selected it as a Primary High-Energy Food, which is ideal for Space Travel.

5 Ways to Create a Shift From a Consumption-Driven to an Ecologically-Sustainable Global Society

“There is massive propaganda for everyone to consume. Consumption is good for profits and consumption is good for the political establishment.” ~Noam Chomsky

Here are some basic ways in which we can create a shift from being a consumption-driven global society to becoming an environmentally friendly and ecologically-sustainable one:

1. A major shift in the consciousness of global society is needed! We must move from our overriding social focus on needless over-consumption and the accumulation of material wealth – to a new enlightened quest for spiritual wealth, happiness, and fulfillment. Once this new consciousness has been established, consumption levels should be kept within reasonable limits of sustainability, relative to achieving a synergistic balance with the natural resources of the Global Biosphere.

disappearing-tribes

For three years, from 2010 to 2013, Jimmy Nelson explored the world to take snapshots of tribes that are unknown to the many. Sadly, at this point in time, the tribes are at risk of vanishing because of the perils they are facing. Most of these risks are brought about by commercial development, which causes problems like climate change and deforestation, among others.

You Can’t Make Someone Love You

Sad couple

When we’re deep into something it’s hard to see clearly and to hear advice from others. It’s hard to focus on a solution when we are consumed with the problem.

It’s the difference between playing and watching a game of chess. It’s so much easier to see checkmate when you’re not the one playing the game.

That’s what happened to me for the last five years.

I spent every breathing moment consumed with a man, unable to listen to those who watched me struggle. I spent five years doing everything I could to try to force a man to love me, and in the process I forgot how to love myself.

3 Ways to Stop Absorbing People’s Negative Energy

There are some people in our life that make us feel happy and filled with joy while others make us feel sad and drain much of our energy. This is something that happens to most of us, but there are some people who have been able to manage not to be easily affected by other people’s negative energy, and in this article you will learn how you can do this too.

Below are some basic tips to stop absorbing other people’s negative energy:

1. Focus on the center of your being

Many of us don’t have any power over our emotions, we get easily attached to people and hence are easily affected by them. If you manage to center yourself you’ll find emotional balance and you will be able to dissolve any negative energy that resides within yourself and you’ll also stop absorbing it from your environment. In order to focus on your being, you can practice mindfulness. Mindfulness will help you distance yourself from what is influencing you and hence this way you will be able to not be easily negatively influenced by others. There are several techniques to help you find your center, such as focusing on your breath or observing the flame of a candle.

How to Stay Positive in a Negative World

“Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always moving toward something.” ~ Ralph Marston

Do you ever notice how easy it is to mistake the negative thoughts, energies and beliefs of those around you as your own? And how easy it is to allow these low, toxic and unhealthy energies to come into your life, influencing the way you think, the way you feel and the way you perceive yourself and the world around you?

When you are in a negative, toxic and unhealthy environment, a place where people are sad, anxious, dwelling in fear and constantly complaining about everything and everyone, you tend to feel a heavy energy pressing down on you, making you feel uncomfortable and very unhappy. But if you change the environment, going to a place where people are at peace, cheerful and positive, chances are that you will start to feel full of life and energy. Why? Because energy is contagious, and we tend to adapt our own energy to the energy of the things, places, people and experiences that we encounter.
