The 7 Stages of Spiritual Alchemy

In many ways Shamanism is the same as Alchemy.

They both approach spiritual development through a psychic involvement with matter. But while European alchemy became entrapped in an obsession with metals and purified elements, shamanism fixated its attention in the living energies of plants, animals and spirits.

It is perhaps because of this reason that alchemy became synonymous with gaining wealth and immortality. For those who confused the metaphors of the original alchemy with reality, the practice became a pseudo-science of transforming lead into gold. For others, however, alchemy remained the secret science of illumination and inner liberation.

Laying Blame - Ted Slipchinsky

There is nobody to blame for your travails. Every word you have ever spoken, every act, every dream, every song, every prayer, every shout, every angry deed is a muffled cry to the Energy that gave you life; a longing to return to the Great River from which you never really left. And now that this Energy is upon you, a part of you desperately wants to flee, to hesitate at the gate, or to lay the blame on somebody else for all your perceived hardships.

Laying blame is the most seductive of human acts. The ghost of self-righteousness wraps itself about you in its slow dance, whispering that there are no fears to look at, nothing that you must face; all your pain is created by "the other".

Cosmic Marriage; Why so Many Traditional Marriages Fail

By Leda De Zwaan

Your true partner has already been decided; it is set above. It is already a commitment, without even knowing, it is an event set to happen by you.  The cosmos knows. Your soul knows. Your gut instinct knows. You have been partners many lifetimes before. There is nothing ‘ new’, it feels like you have been married a hundred times before. The other person knows what to say or not say, to evolve the process.

You will always come back to each other, or stick together in some way because of the enormous magnetic pull to each other. As they say in the movie Avatar ‘ I see you’. Those words are more than ‘I love you’.

The words have many more dimensions behind it. ‘I see your soul.’

I love your soul, with all aspects that goes with it. Everything. The whole package. – This is the ‘I see you’.

Many people do not find it appealing anymore, to marry the traditional ways. We say vows we do not feel in the heart, sign a ‘contract’ for an institute and spend a lot of money on a sacred ceremony that transcends the need for material.

How Twin Souls Can Heal Each Other

By Leda De Zwaan

Do you consider your partner your twin flame or twin soul?

When you find your twin soul being dramatic, irritating, annoying, addicted, too sensitive, or fearful, take it back as a mirror, and find out if they are reflecting an UNSEEN part of YOU.

Twin souls love each other so much that their energies reflect and mirror everything within. They are showing you something that you are, already have been, or forgotten about yourself that needs to be seen.  Just look at their wants, beliefs, and what they have to say. These are your own needs and beliefs being reflected back at you.

The New World Order Will Fail Because of You!

by Matthew J. Anderson

*** NB: Intense/passionate blog post (contains some swearing) ***

Emotional Awareness

I have found myself having feelings of anger and frustration recently. These are good feelings. They scare me, but more so empower me to do something - to take action, but most importantly - to honour what I am feeling in my body. To express my feelings, and to use this as an opportunity to cultivate a deeper, more grounded connection within myself, irrespective of whatever is going on around me in the world.

In society, most of us are so focused on the outside all of the time - almost every aspect of the modern system is designed to keep us constantly looking outside of ourselves, using emotional triggers of fear, guilt and shame in attempts to convince us that giving our personal power away is simply a 'normal' part of human life in the modern world. The most easily visible example of this is in the mainstream media and advertising - popular/mass culture, basically.

A Time for Letting Go

by Zen Gardner

I love the expression, “What if they had a war and nobody came?” I feel the same about the matrix and the awakening.

What if the matrix had nowhere to manifest?

Our idea of self is contrived. It’s broadcast at us from birth and reinforced by the world around us. It’s on this false, heavily reinforced self-screen on which they are able to project their manipulated worldview. We cooperate, believe their paradigm to be the only one, and help pass it on to succeeding generations.

All the while asleep to the True reality within and without us.

Bugs on the Windshield

We use our egos like a windshield. The trouble is, it often keeps us from fully experiencing true reality. Imagine there was no windshield. You are spirit and not material. Those bugs would pass right through your field of vision, and you, instead of creating their artificial reality.

Which is exactly what happens. Your reality, what you see and perceive in life, becomes the crap stuck on your windshield with your vision being blocked, picture of life altered into whatever is forming on the screen, and very little of the true picture getting through to you.

The Clothes of the Spiritual Ego

will's picture

by Frank M. Wanderer

The spiritual Ego is unable to imagine the existence of a wisdom that is not manifested in thoughts, accumulated knowledge and experience. The spiritual Ego attempts to make an image of reality from the accumulated spiritual knowledge and experience, trying to create the mosaic image of Truth. The spiritual Ego, however, always picks the stones for the mosaic from external sources.

That is how the spiritual Ego puts one piece of the mosaic next to the other until it believes that the image is complete, and the spiritual Ego is familiar with the whole Truth. That moment, though, will never come, because the image created from the bits and pieces borrowed from others is not the real “truth;” it is only the truth as the spiritual Ego imagines it to be. As it is not possible to express the Truth with concepts, the image is false right from the beginning. Another typical way of the spiritual Ego is comparing its own experience with those of others.

The mosaic image of “truth” is realized as a spiritual scenario in our daily life. There may be a number of selfish motivations behind the hunger for experience and quest for completeness, but the spiritual scenarios are rather standard, so they contain lots of similar elements. Let us see a few of these:

"A vastness that you can't even imagine"

Roger Ebert was a beloved American film critic, and I recently discovered a profound experience he had just before passing away:

Roger looked beautiful. He looked really beautiful. I don't know how to describe it, but he looked peaceful, and he looked young.

The one thing people might be surprised about—Roger said that he didn't know if he could believe in God. He had his doubts. But toward the end, something really interesting happened. That week before Roger passed away, I would see him and he would talk about having visited this other place. I thought he was hallucinating. I thought they were giving him too much medication. But the day before he passed away, he wrote me a note: "This is all an elaborate hoax." I asked him, "What's a hoax?" And he was talking about this world, this place. He said it was all an illusion. I thought he was just confused. But he was not confused. He wasn't visiting heaven, not the way we think of heaven. He described it as a vastness that you can't even imagine. It was a place where the past, present, and future were happening all at once. (source)

5 Societal Illusions That We Accept As Reality

by Luke Miller

A lot of the world we see around us is an illusion. If you take any piece of solid matter and put it under a microscope it loses its solidity. If you take a look at the colour spectrum, what we see compared to what actually exists is miniscule.

If you take your view of the world and compare it to the beliefs of someone else, chances are even if you have a lot in common with that person you will both have some contradictory beliefs.

We have multiple religions, belief systems, schools of thought and scientific processes all claiming to be the true one, yet for every person who thinks their version is correct there are a million others who challenge it.

Today I am going to be speaking about societal illusions. These are the illusions we generally accept as fact, when in reality they are not needed for our survival-

Food-

I’m not saying food is an illusion; we all need it for our survival. It is the feeling that we are reliant on other people for our food that is illusionary. It’s only in the last few decades that most of us have become totally [dependent] on others for our food. In reality it is only a convenience.

I See You

In the Northern Natal regions of South Africa, Zulu tribes traditionally acknowledge other human beings at the start of every encounter by gazing into each others eyes in silence for 10 seconds, before the elder of the two says “Sawu bona” meaning “I see you”, to which the younger replies, “Sikhona” - “I am here.”

This simple act of acknowledgement is the most important aspect of their daily interaction. For this indigenous group, until they are seen in this way every day, they do not exist.

Our ability to really connect with one another is a huge part of what makes us human. And it is eye contact that plays the lead role in our innate ability to understand each other beyond words; when someone says one thing, but we're able to interpret something else, or for no words to be exchanged at all, but for a meaning or emotion to somehow be conveyed. This ultimately fuels our capacity to empathise, and as a result, our ability to connect on an even deeper level with one another.
