Peru Set to Provide 2 Million Free Solar Panels to Poorest Residents

The country of Peru aims to provide free electricity to over 2 million of its poorest residents by harnessing the power of the sun. Jorge Merino, the Energy and Mining Minister of Peru, says that the National Photovoltaic Household Electrification Program will provide electricity to poor households through the installation of photovoltaic panels.

As reported by the Latin America Herald Tribune, the first part of the initiative is to provide solar systems to 500,000 extremely poor households in areas that lack even basic access to the power grid. The program will provide a massive opportunity for domestic solar installers, and Merino has said that bidding for the contract will open later this year to fix the rest of the panels.

First started in Contumaza, a province in the northeastern region of Cajamarca, the project has already allowed 1,601 solar panels to be installed. According to the energy minister, when the project is finished, the scheme will allow 95% of Peru to have access to electricity by the end of 2016, whereas at present, only 66% of the country’s population has access.

5 Tips to Let Go of Control & Create More Harmony

5 Tips to Let Go of Control and Create More Harmony

by Andrea Schulman| Holding on to control is a habit many of us have that causes unnecessary anxiety and distress.  When we attempt to control events and circumstances, we spiritually dissociate ourselves from the natural flow of the universe.  As a result, we run into more problems and create more chaos in our lives.

Holding on to control causes problems because we simply aren’t able to control everything!  It would be impossible to do everything we have to do in life and also be in charge of things like the weather, traffic and other people’s thoughts and actions.  There simply aren’t enough hours in the day.

Trying to control the uncontrollable only sets us up for failure, coupled with frustration.

In contrast, when we let go of control and “go with the flow,” life unfolds naturally and seamlessly.  Be giving up control, we create more harmony in our own lives.  We allow the universe to handle the details, while we release ourselves from unnecessary (and unachievable!) responsibilities.

So, if you’d like to get back into the flow of the universe, here are few ideas on how to let go of control. Try them out the next time you feel yourself holding on a little too tight!

How to Release Negativity and Restore Your Spirit

The past cannot be undone. But what you can change is how you feel about it. You’re tired of being negative. You’re ready to change. You need a plan. Read on, my friend, for this is the process of releasing negativity and restoring your spirit. Change is good.

Fear and Anger Are Killers
Ask any doctor. The stress of feeling badly all the times can easily lead to medical disorders. Your body and mind are a continuum. In other words, although they are not exactly the same, a great overlap exists between your mind and body, uniting them. Relieve your mental stress and your body will be happier, too. It’s time to unburden yourself of everything that has been blocking progress in your life by keeping you attached to an unhappy past.

Feeling Better Is a Process
Negativity accumulates in our lives, in our souls, over time. The process of removing it optimally happens in layers. It’s best to release as much of each stored negative emotion as you can during each successive attempt. And of course, you want a safe, private means of release that is as quiet and effective as possible. You can jettison all that old negativity easily and thoroughly by following simple instructions.

Is Everything We’ve Been Told About Nicotine Wrong?

Is Everything We've Been Told About Nicotine Wrong? The tobacco plant, nicotiana tabacum, has been cultivated, chewed and smoked by the Native Americans since about 6000 B.C., possibly longer. For millennia, tobacco has been an important part of society, and used frequently for ceremonial and medicinal purposes. And yet today, we all know that cigarettes are responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths every year in the US, as they are known to cause cancer, heart disease, lung problems, and more. They are expensive, and they are also heavily addictive- more so than cocaine and heroin.

One of the most active chemicals in tobacco is nicotine, which accounts for about 5% of the tobacco plant by volume. Nicotine is a naturally occurring liquid alkaloid, an organic compound made up of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. One cigarette smoked has about 10 milligrams of nicotine in it.

Nicotine has a profound effect upon many systems of the body, including the brain and the adrenals. In light of the association between cigarette smoking and death, it is surprising that scientists have begun researching nicotine for its potential health benefits.

101 Ways to Raise Your Consciousness

by Drew 4mind4life1. Connect with nature – Go for a walk in the forest, jungle, field of daisies, or wherever you feel like getting a connection with nature. It is possible to feel at deep sense of peace and oneness when you attempt to connect with nature. As you learn to connect and appreciate nature, you allow your consciousness to rise up.

2. Get your body moving – Exercise and dancing will raise your consciousness by promoting healthy brainwave patterns, healthy neurotransmitter levels, and great circulation throughout your nervous system. Help yourself rise up and break the pattern of not exercising by going for a friendly walk with one of your friends or even going to the club to dance. Both examples are: easy, fun, and empowering.

3. Simple meditation – Whether you are an advanced meditator or a beginner, the benefits are tremendous and will allow you to tap into your highest state of conscious functioning if you stick around long enough. It is an act that will definitely raise your conscious awareness and allow you to attain greater focus, discipline, and develop a deeper joyous connection to life.

Did Quantum Mechanics Just Prove the Existence of God?

Quantum mechanics has potentially put an end to one of the most widely adopted atheistic view of Earth – materialism. Therefore in an indirect way it has brought forth the supreme deity ideology, which was wholly rejected by most scientists, back into the frame of science.

In materialism, the material world was seen as a closed system operating on an intricate relationship between cause and effect. It was supported by the physical laws that had cemented their place in the scientific method since Newtonian times. With all the internal dependence and mathematical correlations, it was assumed that the material entities behaved irrespective of outside influence. That a material thing exists without any prerequisites.

However, the advent of quantum mechanics threw a wrench into this seemingly irrefutable notion of the world. It did so by taking matter from being made up of tiny blocks of atoms to be consisting of a wave of possibilities. You see, what quantum mechanics did was take the ingredients of matter from being the physicality of an atom to the unpredictability of its sub particles. Therefore an atom was the manifestation of the state its transient sub particles, electrons and quarks, were in. Thus essentially rendering the idea of a physical, unchanging matter archaic.

Natures Calling 8 Ways to Reconnect

By Kayla Wright Contributing Writer for Soul Science

From nature’s touch to nature’s love and nature’s hideaway to natures “calling”. Mother Nature is always giving, always balancing and always there for us. A place of healing, inspiration and energy. Her euphoric embrace binds the cells of our being restoring tranquility and effervescence. Mother nature is cleansing. This cleanse that nature provides, knits comfort and understanding into our brains and our bloodstream.

A study released in 2012 by Psychologists Zelenski and Nesbit, exemplified how it is we connect emotionally and physiologically to nature and the environment around us. In this collection of research titled “Nature’s Relatedness” a priority goal of theirs was “to determine whether the association between nature relatedness and happiness is due to a general sense of connectedness or a more specific link with nature.”

Two “scales” went public across many regions. The first, was a scale where people rated how they disagreed/agreed with a statement that had to do directly with nature; such as: “I believe nature to be an important part of my spirituality.”

8 Ideologies We All Need to Ditch to Live in the Moment

It is normal for us, people, to constantly strive to become better, to have more, to do more. But on our lifetime journeys we often forget that what we need in order to be happy, is right in front of us NOW. In our rush to prosper and be successful, we fail to remind ourselves that we are whole, we are enough and that we have this exact moment. Why waste it being grumpy? Why not be happy now?

Here are 8 reminders of what you don’t need in order to appreciate the present moment:

Worrying about past mistakes.

The fact that you have made mistakes in your past is simply another reason to smile and be happy about. Wondering why? Well, if you hadn’t made any mistakes in your life, you wouldn’t have learned the important things you know now. Life has its ups and downs and that’s the beauty of it. Failing is the best way we can learn something. Your past, no matter how hard it has been, shouldn’t get in the way of your future.  Why be bothered by what is behind you instead of focusing on what is now and what it could be in the future? Your life is in your hands. Don’t deprive yourself from taking action just because you fear you may fall down a few times. Because what matters most is that you can always get back up and move on.

How Your Own Compassion Can Heal the World

by Deepak Chopra M. D.

As I look around the world and engage in conversations with scientists, philosophers, politicians and other thought leaders, I see enormous potential for positive change, as well as a magnitude of problems confronting us.

Currently, an estimated 41 armed military conflicts are being fought throughout the world.

In the Middle East, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Nigeria and all around the planet, the collective subconscious is erupting with rage and violence.

In the face of war, injustice and other threats to our existence, many people feel moved to join in protests and strident activism.

Although well-intended, acts of moral outrage are not the solution because even moral outrage is rage — and acting on it adds more rage to the collective consciousness.

Instead of being outraged, we need to be asking, “What is a creative solution for the future?”

There is always a creative solution, yet we can only find it by expanding to a higher level of awareness than the level at which the problem was created.

Otherwise, we are fighting darkness with darkness, which never works.

Quantum Mechanics and the End of Materialism

Many people consider the advent of quantum mechanics as the single biggest achievement in science. And there is good reason to believe that since it has revamped our view of the world in a drastic manner. An example in point would be the non-materialistic view of Earth.

Since the inception of the scientific method, the world has been viewed as consisting of tangible things – a cluster of three dimensional bodies. However, the study of quantum mechanics led us to believe that the world is nothing but a wave of material possibilities that manifest before our eyes. In short, we observe our reality and that it doesn’t exist in a predefined, materialistic manner.
