Media Silence As Russia Calls Out US/NATO Role In Afghan Drug Trafficking

This week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held his annual press conference, at which he slammed NATO's role in Afghan heroin trade.

By: Jack Burns / The Free Thought Project  For many years now, the United States has been fighting, and losing, the violent war to end opiate, opioid, and heroin overdoses. As The Free Thought Project has consistently reported, opiate-related overdoses are now killing thousands of Americans per year, with no real end in sight. Our political foes know this and, according to Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov, the United States is using its own soldiers to protect the cultivation, production, and exportation of heroin from Afghanistan to other parts of the world.

As late as 2011, Moscow has been voicing its concerns over the drug trade in Afghanistan. Wikileaks published, as part of its Global Intelligence Files database, emails from Stratfor, describing Moscow’s criticism of U.S. foreign policy prohibiting its soldiers from destroying Afghani poppy fields.

It Is Now Legal To Privately Smoke And Grow Marijuana In South Africa

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

South Africa’s Western Cape High Court declared that it is unconstitutional to ban the use of dagga (weed) by adults in private homes.

Yesterday, a landmark ruling occurred in South Africa when the Western Cape High Court decided that keeping weed (dagga) illegal is unconstitutional. The decision marks a significant change in the south-African nation, as cannabis has essentially been legalized for private use.

Until March 31, 2017, the herb was illegal to grow, own or use under the “Criminal Prohibition of Dagga Act.” The Court deemed the prohibition to be unfair, outdated and discriminatory, however and said that the law disproportionately targeted people of color.

U.S. Is Dropping 500 Bombs Per Week On Mosul

Several hundred civilians have been killed in March alone.

By: (ANTIWARBrig. Gen. Matthew Isler, the deputy commander for the air war in Iraq and Syria, today offered details on the ever-growing scope of the air campaign over the massive, densely populated Iraqi city of Mosul, saying the US is in its “most kinetic” phase so far of the war.

In raw numbers, that means the US and its coalition partners are dropping an average of 500 bombs on the city of Mosul every single week so far in March. That number is growing, too, with the largest week seeing just over 600 bombs dropped.

Air Force officials insist all of the bombs being dropped on Mosul are being dropped “in support” of the Iraqi military’s ongoing invasion of the city. This increase in bombings is also leading to a substantial increase in the number of civilian deaths from US airstrikes as well, with several hundred civilians killed this month.

Addiction Is A Reasonable Response To The State Of The World: Gabor Maté [Watch]

by Amelia Kinney, True Activist

World renowned physician Gabor Maté offers a perspective on drug addiction and a culture that has created the need to escape.

The perspective on addiction presented by Gabor Maté is recognizant of a simpler, more intuitive understanding of the condition. The specialist in neurology and psychology gave a talk in Vancouver, B.C. as part of the program Beyond Addiction: The Yogic Path to Recovery. While his outlook is timeless, it is especially relevant today as we fight for the lives of family and friends who have fallen victim to the most severe wave of drug addiction in the history of the United States.

In this context, it is important to narrow in on pitfalls of modern society that have created a population trying to soothe emotional pain, and searching for relief from a bleak consumer-driven culture based on superficial, temporary relief. Big pharma racks in billions of dollars annually by offering solutions that may get us through another day, but ultimately prohibit personal growth: anti-depressants and Xanax being the most prevalent. This article does not deny the severity of mental conditions and addiction but strives to communicate that many current forms of treatment fail to promote sustainable, individual change.

‘Cards Against Humanity’ Creator Promises To Buy And Publish Congress’s Internet History

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

The creator of the popular game vowed to purchase the browsing history of every member of Congress so they might know what it's like to have one's personal data auctioned off.

A large percent of United States citizens are understandably upset that state representatives recently voted to reverse a landmark FCC privacy rule, which essentially would allow Internet Service Providers (such as Time Warner Cable, Verizon, AT&T and Comcast) to sell customers’ private data to any company that wants it.

Once Verge posted a list of all 265 representatives and the amount of money they received to sell users’ private information, the motivations behind many of the members’ votes became crystal clear. Check out that information here.

Desperately Thirsty Cobra Approaches Villagers For Water [Watch]

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

An extreme drought is affecting populations in southern parts of India, and it’s not just people who are suffering from the adverse climatic conditions. Some animals are bypassing their primal nature to intentionally seek out humans for aid.

For example, a King cobra – which is known for being dangerous and, therefore, is avoided by most people at all costs – recently approached villagers due to being desperately thirsty. After realizing that the snake was confronting humans because it was deprived of water, a few brave individuals stepped up to help.

First, a man gripped the cobra’s tail to prevent it from lashing it out at nearby humans. Then, another man splashed some water on the snake’s head to cool it down. He then extended the water bottle for the cobra to drink from and then the miraculous happened – it drank!

Dutch Media Cancels Dr. Phil Show After Exposing Elite Pedophilia Ring

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

The timing couldn’t be any more suspicious.

One week ago, celebrity psychologist Dr. Phillip McGraw became one of the first individuals to expose the world of elite pedophilia on mainstream television. In a segment with a woman going by the name of “Kendall”, he and the rest of the world learned that she was literally born into – and grew up in – the world of elite sexual slavery.

Kendall explained that she was “born” to be a sex slave, as her parents intentionally had her to be ‘pimped’ by the trafficker she calls her “owner.” Since then, she has serviced some of the world’s most powerful and elite. In one instance, Kendall describes being passed around groups of rich and prominent men and women so they might “take turns” with her for sadistic sexual pleasure.

14-Year-Old Was Given 3 Days To Live, But Then His Mother Gave Him Cannabis Oil

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

At 14-years-old, he was planning his own funeral. So, his mother did something ‘drastic’ by using a 100% natural herb that has been cultivated for thousands of years.

Though there is a minimum of 60 peer-reviewed studies proving the marijuana plant to have substantial healing potential, the herb remains a classified Schedule I drug in the United States. In the UK and Australia, as well, use of the plant – both recreationally and for medicinal purposes – is illegal. This is a travesty, considering cannabis kills 0 people each year (unlike alcohol and opioid abuse) and has been shown to benefit conditions including cancer, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and more!

Hundreds Of Thousands Gather In Yemen To Protest Sponsored Saudi Terrorism

Hundreds of thousands took to the streets of Yemen's capital city to protest ongoing military conflict and the bombing of civilians.

By: Claire Bernish / The Free Thought Project   Sana’a, Yemen — Hundreds of thousands took to the streets in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a to protest the second anniversary of the invasion by Saudi Arabia, as well as the ongoing military offensive by the loosely U.S.-backed, Saudi-led coalition of nine nations attempting to crush the Shia Houthi rebellion

“I participated in the protests against the aggression (by the Saudi-led coalition), maybe our voice will be heard by the world over to stop the war,” the Associated Press quoted protester, Ahmed Mohsen, who, along with war-weary throngs of others — participated to try to call attention to the U.S.’ other major conflict.

“Two years of wanton violence and bloodshed, thousands of deaths and millions of people desperate for their basic rights to food, water, health and security,” railed UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, “enough is enough.”

Media Silent as CIA Director Admits Plans of Aerosol Spraying for Geoengineering

CIA Director just addressed the Council on Foreign Relations and admitted his desire to conduct stratospheric aerosol injection.

By: Matt Agorist / The Free Thought Project   Last week, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, John O. Brennan addressed instability and transnational threats to global security at a meeting with the Council on Foreign Relations. During his long-winded talk of threats to US interests and how the largely CIA-created ISIL threat is impacting the world, Brennan brought up the topic of geoengineering.

Another example is the array of technologies—often referred to collectively as geoengineering—that potentially could help reverse the warming effects of global climate change. One that has gained my personal attention is stratospheric aerosol injection, or SAI, a method of seeding the stratosphere with particles that can help reflect the sun’s heat, in much the same way that volcanic eruptions do.

Brennan went on to echo the calls from some scientists who have called for aerial spraying.
