A Question For You All
This morning after coming back from my walk I noticed on the front yard grass this yellow substance. At first glance, it looked liked those little yellow marshmellow "peeps" at Easter time. It looked very "spongy" or "foamy", and was just laying there on top of the grass. I took my walking stick and stuck it inside the stuff to see what it looked like inside, and it looked nasty, like something spoiled. I then stuck my finger into it to feel the consistency and it felt like foam. The color yellow of it was like that of mustard.
Has anyone else seen this stuff , and if so, you got any idea what it is? I'm very interested to know.
Blessings to you all.

Yes, I have seen this now two times. I have pictures to post but I am not sure how to. I even disected them a little. They looked like a concrete blob to begin with. When the first layer was removed. about 1/6 of an inch thick. there was a yellow substance there. This looked very much like powdered sulfer. then under that was a dark substance that remined me of compressed powdered dark choclate. ( all the food comparing because I am in a Earth Fare parking lot) One of the blobs was freestanding on a bed of mulch and the other surrounded a bush stem near the ground. So, if i can post the pictures I will. Try going to answer.com and asking in the biology part. That is what I am going to do. Morningrain Unable to figure out how to post a picture.
Great. We're on the same page. Yeah, I'd be very interested to see your pics. Got any clues as to what it is? Strange stuff, huh?
Thanks so much.

I have been able to get them onto my computer but I have not found out how to post them. Still working on that aspect. Morningrain
Sounds like slime mold. Did it look something like this?

Thank you for replying even with a pic, but nope, that's not it. If you can imagine taking a spoonful of mustard and tossing it upon the grass, that's pretty much what it would look like, only the mustard is spongy. Using the term mustard is appropriate because that's about the color of it. A really deep yellow. And as for the texture, the best analogy would be like an "almost" melted marshmellow, very spongy.
I am looking at it like it was a Godsend because I haven't seen it anywhere else and since that portion is now long gone, I haven't seen anymore since.
We are in a world of change, and I am in awe each time I see something new. Also, I am so grateful to be alive at all that's transpiring in and around us. Almost unbelievable, storybook stuff!
May love and peace reach you.

Here in Boulder, CO on Friday morning, 7/6/12, we have nothing like this on our grass.
How about this? Envision them being some sort of 'cleansing of our earth in some way'? Thank them for whatever function they are serving and then invite them to be on their way to the highest outcome for their purpose?
