Why Food is Actually INFORMATION

by Sayer Ji, GreenMedInfo

Food, while being the condition for the possibility of all life itself, is rarely appreciated for its true power. Far beyond its conventionally defined role as a source of energy and building blocks for the body-machine, new discoveries on the frontiers of science reveal that food is also a powerful source of information.

We are all hardwired to be deeply concerned with food when hungry, an interest which rapidly extinguishes the moment we are satiated. But as an object of everyday interest and scientific inquiry, food often makes for a bland topic. This is all the more apparent when juxtaposed against its traditional status in ancient cultures as sacred; or in contemporary religious traditions like Catholicism where a cracker still represents the body of Christ (Eucharist). But as my previous investigations into the dark side of wheat have revealed, food is one of the most fascinating and existentially important topics there is. And in many ways, until we understand the true nature of food, and how it is still the largely invisible ground for our very consciousness, we will not be able to understand our own nature and destiny.

The Most Incredible Ways To Raise Your Vibration

by Lance Schuttler , The Mind Unleashed

When it comes down to it, the most important thing we can to do help transform ourselves and the world for the better is to raise our own vibration. As it has been stated by numerous indigenous teachers in the past and confirmed by quantum physics today, everything is connected by a unified vibratory field. It only makes sense then that if we are to help improve the world around us, we must improve ourselves. We must raise our own vibration to raise the collective’s vibration. Here are some of the most incredible ways to do just that.

1. Flower essences: Though flower essences are different than essential oils, they are nonetheless one of the most potent ways to raise your vibration. Flower essences help us to process and heal things that are going on with our emotional state. In other words, they are nutrients for the soul. Dr. Edward Bach, who helped to bring much awareness to flower essences talked about the benefits of them, “The action of the flower essences raises the vibration of the being…they cure by flooding the body with the beautiful vibrations of the highest nature, in whose presence there is the opportunity for disease to melt away like snow in sunshine.”

Say Goodbye To Antibacterial Soaps: FDA Finally Bans Them For These Reasons

by Brianna Acuesta, True Activist

Antibacterial soaps could do more harm than good and don't help with resisting illness any more than conventional soaps.

The Food and Drug Administration has officially banned antibacterial soaps—or, more specifically, 19 ingredients in soaps—after considering it for at least 6 years. The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) filed a lawsuit in 2010 to pressure the FDA to consider regulating antibacterial soaps, to which the FDA finally responded.

In the press release, the FDA said, “Companies will no longer be able to market antibacterial washes with these ingredients because manufacturers did not demonstrate that the ingredients are both safe for long-term daily use and more effective than plain soap and water in preventing illness and the spread of certain infections.”

Though antibacterial soaps have been used for decades, and the FDA has been apparently investigating the safety of one of the most controversial ingredients, triclosan, for even longer, the soaps were never really inspected after they were released.

Organic Rice Crop Yields Debunk Myth GMOs Are Needed to Feed the World

by Christina Sarich, Underground Reporter

Bihar, India — In India’s poorest state, farmers are setting world-breaking records growing rice and other staple foods, without the help of genetically modified organisms, and none of Monsanto’s billion-dollar herbicides.

With the biotech industry claiming that the world can only be fed with heavily-doused herbicidal crops coming from genetically modified seed, it’s astonishing to see a region responsible for providing food for so many people, churning out some of the biggest yields ever — 22.4 tonnes of rice on one hectare of land, to be exact.

The crop yields being realized by Indian farmers are simply phenomenal and have been achieved by employing age-old, yet simple, growing techniques like using farmyard manure and forgoing herbicides.

Study: Women Who Surround Themselves With Nature Live Longer

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

Women who live in areas with prevalent greenery have a 12% lower overall mortality rate than women who live in polluted, urban environments.

Researchers have already confirmed that spending time in nature reduces stress and that living near trees is beneficial for your health and wallet. Now, a new study concludes that women who surround themselves with vegetation are likely to live longer lives.

The study, published in Environmental Health Perspectives, was conducted by researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Data from 108,630 women enrolled in the Nurses’ Health Study across the U.S. between the years of 2000 and 2008 helped the researchers determine if living near vegetation affects a woman’s health.

The team relied on satellite imagery from different seasons and various years to calculate the amount of greenery present at each woman’s home.

Standing Up For Your Beliefs In Group Opposition Is What Changes Your World

by Josh Richardson, Prevent Disease

A new University at Buffalo study that assessed bodily responses suggests that standing up for your beliefs, expressing your opinions and demonstrating your core values can be a positive psychological experience.

Our happiness, and ultimately our lives, are defined by the choices we make. When we allow other people to tell us how to feel, they are making those choices for us, and we are giving away our truth. Since all truths are true, we must define if it is our ego we are standing up for or something more.

There can be a clear divergence between what people do and say and how they feel, according to Mark Seery, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology.

"People can show conformity, but going along with the group doesn't mean they're going along happily," he says. "The external behavior isn't necessarily a good indication of their internal experience."

Frankincense's cellular healing power is a powerful solution for many types of cancer

(NaturalNews) It turns out that the "Three Wise Men" may have been even wiser than we thought...

According to the Bible, frankincense was one of the gifts bestowed by the three wise men who attended the Nativity of Christ, more than 2,000 years ago.

Now, according to scientific research and the testimony of numerous individuals, frankincense essential oil is being recognized as a possible treatment for several types of cancer.

Frankincense kills cancer cells, leaves healthy cells alone

Frankincense essential oil is derived from the Boswellia tree family, varieties of which grow in Asia and the Middle East. Boswellic acid – the active ingredient in frankincense – has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. These properties have been shown to be effective in killing cancer cells, while not affecting healthy cells.

Researchers Find RoundUp Responsible for Harmful Algae Blooms In Great Lakes

by Christina Sarich, Underground Reporter

(UR) Ohio — Glyphosate, the main ingredient found in Monsanto’s best-selling herbicide, RoundUp, has poisoned Lake Erie.

Scientists from Ohio Northern University (ONU) in the U.S. have discovered that glyphosate is largely responsible for an increase in harmful algae blooms that contaminate lake water and kill off life dependent upon this habitat.

Namely, dissolved reactive phosphorous (DRP) has been contaminating Lake Erie and the Maumee watershed. This DRP comes from surrounding farms that rely on Monsanto’s weedkiller to grow their crops. The runoff ends up in the lakes, killing fish and contaminating the water.

Though Lake Erie’s trouble with phosphorous is not new, there has been an alarming increase in DRP, which caused scientists to question its probable origins.

Christopher Spiese, a chemist at Ohio Northern University suggests that an increase in the use of glyphosate is causing the problem. DRP loads in Lake Erie have been increasing since the early 1990s — the same time that RoundUp was being sold to farmers across the U.S.
