The Benefits And Dangers Of Taking Psychedelics - TruthTheory

By Luke Miller Truth Theory

Psychedelics are a great tool for communicating with alternate realities and getting to understand ourselves a little better, however they are no quick fix and can often leave you with more questions than answers.

Before I go any further I would just like to say that there are many different types of psychedelics, which have different effects and cautions that should be taken when using them- do your research before using any substance, even if it is not a psychedelic. There are many benefits of psychedelics, but there are also many dangers- in this article I would like to cover this from both perspectives.

Dissolution Of Conditioning

When you take psychedelics it often takes you out of the conditioned mind, giving you a view that is clear from your previous experience. Our conscious mind is the result of everything we experience in the world and no matter how hard we try to stay away from media, bad influences and experience, we can’t completely avoid these things. It can be a beautiful thing to see things as they are for the first time, and this is the effect psychedelics often have.

Diet Drinks TRIPLE Your Risk Of Stroke And Dementia, Study Finds - TruthTheory

By Eden Marie Truth Theory

To shed weight and appear trim, millions of people around the globe indulge in diet drinks which are predominantly sweetened with aspartame, an established neurotoxin. Though the effects of aspartame are widely known and keep some people from consuming “diet” beverages, only recently have researchers confirmed that sipping diet fizzy drinks daily increases one’s risk of developing dementia or having a stroke later on in life.

Scientists from Boston University studied almost 4,400 adults to determine the effects of drinking full sugar vs diet drinks, and concluded that adults who have one diet drink a day are three times more at risk to suffer a stroke or dementia. Reportedly, no connection was made between the sugary beverages and either of the illnesses, but the researchers don’t recommend those be ingested, either.

Plan An Adventure Or Become A Part Of Someone Else's Plan - TruthTheory

By Luke Miller Truth Theory

Regardless of your beliefs spiritual, scientific or other we can all agree that for the human part of the experience we are going through we have an average of close to 67 years on planet earth. Without trying to sound cliche, life (as a human) is short! Picture this- it is thought the universe is 13.8 billion years old with humans (as we know them) being here for a mere 200,000 of those years. Our lives equate to 0.03% of human history 0.0000004% of this planet’s history- meaning if human history was a day, your life would equate to 4 minutes out of 1440 and 3 one thousandths of a second in our planet’s history. So I hope I am hitting home the point that life is indeed short!

The paradox is of course that life is pretty long, we have a lot of time in which we can get stuff done, and we well and truly have a choice. There is a world of opportunity there for anyone who would like to open up the box of adventure and if you don’t choose your path, you quickly become a pillar for someone else’s path.

By Luke Miller Truth Theory

The controversial pipeline leaked 84 gallons of oil in South Dakota.

Early last month the DAPL leaked 84 gallons of oil in South Dakota. This adds to the argument from the indigenous tribes that the pipeline is a danger to their water supply and needs to be further reviewed for environmental safety.

The incident which took place on April 4 spilled 84 gallons of oil, despite the fact that it is still not operational. The state’s Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DERN) shared a report on its searchable database, however they did not release the information to the public.

DERN spokesman Brian Walsh said that the spill was relatively small and the state doesn’t share information on spills unless they feel they are a threat to public health or water supplies.

He said “We realize Dakota Access gets a lot of attention. We also try to treat all of our spills in a consistent manner,” Walsh said. “We treated this as we would treat any other 84-gallon oil spill.”

Study Shows: Adventurous People Perceive The World In An Entirely Different Way - TruthTheory

By Jess Murray Truth Theory

A new study has found that those who are more open to adventure can see the world entirely differently from those who aren’t. One of the main reasons is due to the fact that if you are open to new experiences and willing to try new things then your brain is able to take in more information than others, whilst also combining that information in a unique way. Reports have suggested that this could be an indication of why those people are also more creative.
