Bill To Pre-Emptively Attack Iran Introduced In Congress

by Whitney Webb, TrueActivist.com

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) recently introduced a bill that would enable to US to invade Iran for the stated purpose of preventing it from obtaining nuclear weapons.

During the 2016 election, Donald Trump seemed to be the “anti-war” candidate compared to his then-opponent Hillary Clinton, especially when he spoke out against US interventionism and pledged to heal ties with Russia. Though ties with Russia have smoothed over since Trump took office, Trump has taken a more militaristic tone with some other foreign powers as evidenced by his recent statements and actions regarding both Iran and China. While the rise of antagonism between the US and these regional powers is troubling for a variety of reasons, just as troubling is the gusto with which some US congressmen are working to advance the “inevitability” of a military conflict between them.

By: Derrick Broze / AntiMedia   Hanlontown, IA — Beginning around 5:30 am on Wednesday morning, local authorities in Hanlontown, Iowa, realized the Magellan Pipeline was leaking what amounted to 138,600 gallons of diesel fuel. KIMT in Iowa reported that emergency responders with the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Worth/Mitchell County Emergency Management, and Freeborn County Emergency Management were all on the scene. The cause of the leak is still under investigation.

Later in the afternoon, KIMT provided an update on the situation:

“The owners of the pipeline that leaked over 138,000 gallons of diesel fuel in Worth County Wednesday say the spill has been contained and the fuel had not flowed into any waterways.

Magellan Midstream Partners says the leak has caused no injuries or evacuations so far.  Over 70 people, including Magellan representatives, emergency crews, regulators and contracts, are on the scene Thursday.

“Magellan says operations on this section of their pipeline system have been halted and repairs are expected to begin soon.  There is no estimate on when the pipeline could go back into operation.”

Women’s March Recorded As Largest Protest In U.S. History

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

Data is still being tallied, but so far, it appears if at least 3.2 million people marched for women’s rights.

Yesterday, Donald Trump became the 45th President of the United States of America. Because of lewd comments the business tycoon has made in the past, as well as certain policies pushed forward by individuals who now serve in his cabinet, millions of women in America took to the streets the day after his inauguration, January 21, 2017.

According to numbers tallied by Jeremy Pressman, a professor at UConn, it’s estimated that approximately 3.2 million women participated in the Women’s March across the nation – a new record! USUncut points out that the number is expected to increase as more figures are received.

Bernie Sanders Calls Out Trump’s Billionaire Pick For Education Secretary

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

DeVos admitted that her being appointed as the new Secretary of Education could have something to do with her family giving $200 million to the Republican party.

One of the reasons Hillary Clinton lost so many votes during the 2016 U.S. Presidential election was her concerning ties to Wall Street. Her buddy system with banks like Goldman and Sachs and her alliance with Monsanto were worrisome to American citizens, to say the least. However, getting saddled with Donald Trump as President of the U.S. for the next four years isn’t a bargain, either. During his campaign, the business mogul made a number of promises which he quickly retracted after winning the election. Read more about that here.

MLK Assassination Exposed As Conspiracy Of ‘Governmental Agencies & Others’ In Court Victory

By: Jay Syrmopoulos / The Free Thought Project   Memphis, TN – As the world remembers the life, and death, of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., one little-known fact regarding his assassination is that in 1999 the family of Dr. King won a civil lawsuit against Loyd Jowers and others, including governmental agencies, for the wrongful death of King in the case of the King Family versus Jowers and Other Unknown Co-Conspirators.

According to a New York Times report from 1999:

A jury in a civil suit brought by the family of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. decided today that a retired Memphis cafe owner was part of a conspiracy in the 1968 killing of Dr. King.

The jury’s decision means it did not believe that James Earl Ray, who was convicted of the crime, fired the shot that killed Dr. King.

After four weeks of testimony and one hour of deliberation, the jury in the wrongful-death case found that Loyd Jowers as well as ”others, including governmental agencies” had been part of a conspiracy. The jury awarded the King family the damages they had sought: $100, which the family says it will donate to charity.

The family has long questioned Mr. Ray’s conviction and hoped the suit would change the legal and historical record of the assassination.

Federal Government To Round-Up Thousands More Wild Horses In 2017

by Whitney Webb, True Activist

Just days ago, fifty more wild horses were removed from public lands by the Bureau of Land Management in order to expand the lucrative leasing of these lands to ranchers and fossil fuel interests.

Last September, the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) – the federal agency tasked with managing public lands – came under fire for a widely criticized plan to slaughter 44,000 wild horses, more than 65% of the national wild horse population. Though popular anger over the plan ultimately led to its retraction, the Bureau of Land Management’s misguided approaches to management of public lands, and the wildlife which inhabits them, continue to persist.

Light Pillars In Canada Reveal The Stunning Beauty Of Nature [Watch]

by Amanda Froelich, True Activist

Sometimes, beauty in nature is subtle. Other times, it's bold and impossible to ignore.

Nature is incredible. If you need more evidence of this, look no further than the images below, captured by Timothy Joseph Elzinga. The Ontario, Canada, was woken up by his two-year-old son at 1:30 a.m. and noticed the dancing lights in the night sky. Without further thought, he threw some clothes on, grabbed a camera, and headed outdoors.

“We can blame the two-year-old. He started crying at 1:30 a.m., so I got up and soothed him … and out the window I had the perfect view of these dancing lights in the sky,” recalls Elzinga. “I had to investigate. I got some pants on and ran outside and took some photos.”

National Geographic informed the public that the phenomenon is actually a result of light bouncing off of ice crystals that float low to the ground. Named light pillars, they truly are magical-looking and were a sight to see, as is evident by the images below.
