This screenshot shows a circular object in the sky above the Neumayer-Station III research facility in Antarctica on Aug. 10, 2012. It’s still not definitively known what the object was.
 

If it was simply a weather balloon that appeared over an Antarctic research station, then why hasn't anyone confirmed it?

A video has come out of the cold, showing an image of a possible UFO above the Neumayer-Station III research facility in Antarctica on August 10, according to livescience.com [2].
