Weather.com - 1218/12, Jon Erdman
The Weather Channel and weather.com has named our fourth winter storm of the season, Winter Storm Draco.
According to Winter Weather Expert, Tom Niziol [2] (Twitter [3] | Facebook [4]), Draco was named based on the following impacts:
- Significant, widespread heavy snowfall for the mountains of the West, with as much as 3 feet likely through Tuesday ("phase one" of the storm)
- Heavier snowfall for lower elevations, including population centers of the Midwest ("phase two" of the storm)
- Major interstates impacted.
