Jim Carrey Withdraws Support From 'Kick-Ass 2' Over Violence [1]

The "Dumb and Dumber" actor announced Sunday via Twitter [2] that he is withdrawing support of his upcoming film due to its violent nature, particularly after last year's tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

"I did Kickass a month [before] Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence." He tweeted [3], adding [4], "[M]y apologies to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart."
