Infinity... As Above, So Below. . . - Duane Townsend [1]
“As above, so below. As within, so without ~ attributed to Hermes -
This Hermetic maxim is the foundation element of spirituality, mysticism and much of philosophy.
"The Greek Hermes [2] found his analogue in Egypt as the ancient Wisdom God Thoth (sometimes spelled Thouth or Tahuti)."
"As above, So below. . . ", speaks that our material reality here in four dimensions is a reflection of an unseen, non-material, multidimensional, yet energetic conscious reality. Are we precipitated out of this ubiquitous singularity or are we emergent from singular ground of beingness?
Does it reflect us, or do we reflect it?
Personally, I am convinced it is a two way reflective communion. On some perceptual, ascetic layer of articulation in our beings...this is Love. Science mocks the concept that 'Love' is a factor worth considering in any of it's observations, and religion, especially the Abrahamic religions makes a mockery of Love in it's doctrines. Academic Philosophy tries to intellectualize our existence, while mostly avoiding the concept of Love. Yet in this present paradigm we are limited to science, religion and philosophy to decipher an understanding of this life.
