If anything demonstrates what a joke the US mainstream media has become, it is this video, and it's even from a comedy show:

Now that all the news media is owned by the same corporations, there's no need for them to even come up with their own stories anymore, they can all just read from the same script. Generic news for generic minds, and look at what the message is, it's okay to buy more stuff during Christmas! It's what Jesus would have wanted, right?
