Russell Brand has defended his call for a revolution against the political system, insisting that he is, unsurprisingly, not in favour of death camps.

Brand's demand for change, outlined in an article for the New Statesman and in an interview with Newsnight's Jeremy Paxman, divided opinion, with fellow comedian Robert Webb rebuking Brand, saying that revolutions inevitably lead to “death camps” and “repression”.

TACLOBAN, Philippines (AP) -- President Benigno Aquino III said Sunday that he will stay in typhoon-battered Leyte province until he sees more progress in the aid effort following complaints from survivors that they have yet to receive proper help.

Aquino is expected to set up camp in Tacloban, the capital of hardest-hit Leyte province, but it is not clear where he will find suitable accommodations amid the ruins. Virtually every building in the city was damaged or destroyed by the Nov. 8 Typhoon Haiyan, which killed 3,974 people, according to the latest official count released Sunday. The storm left about 1,200 people missing.

Electricity is available only in small pockets through diesel generators. There is no running water, and people must manage with water supplied by tankers. Many don't even have that.

Hi Everyone!

Ron and I had our 10th QHHT session this week for our Speaking with Self website this week. “The Event” YouTube clip that came from our 9th session has generated some interest, thank you for sharing the message!

So, as we began the 10th session, I knew we would touch base on that topic but of course, wasn’t sure where it would go. I, like a lot of you, want to know MORE! :) I kept asking questions. At one point I felt as if I was getting in God’s face wanting more details. God replies, “Do you want me to sum it up in one sentence?” YES!! Unless of course you would like to continue longer!! LOL.

So here is Part 2 of The Event! I don’t foresee this being a weekly update but we shall see. The topic of this weeks session was Portals, Imagination and Togetherness.

(CNN) -- Severe weather erupted throughout the Midwest on Sunday afternoon, with tornadoes tearing through several cities and a storm forcing fans to evacuate the stands during an NFL game. "We saw trees down, houses with their roofs completely torn off. I saw a lot of people in distress with their homes destroyed," said Jack Lance, who lives in Pekin, Illinois. "It wasn't a pretty sight." At least two people died in Washington County, Illinois, as a result of the severe storms, said Jonathon Monken, director of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency. In two communities, storms destroyed at least 70 homes, he said. Rescuers are trying to reach people trapped in their basements. And one hospital in Peoria is treating 37 patients with injuries.

ROME — Mount Etna, Europe's most active volcano, has erupted again, lighting up the sky over much of eastern Sicily and shooting up a towering column of ash.

The eruption, which began late Saturday and tapered off Sunday morning, didn't endanger any of the villages dotting the mountain's slopes, and no evacuation was ordered.

The tremor signal has started to rise again and the explosions that continued at the New SE crater have become bigger as well. Is a "follow-up" paroxysm in the making?

One of the largest earthquakes of 2013 to date struck on 17 November in the south of the Atlantic Ocean. At magnitude 7.8 (M7.8) the Scotia Sea tremor is approximately the same size as the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906 (which had an estimated magnitude of around M7.9) which the United States Geological Survey describes as ‘one of the most significant earthquakes of all time.’
