Today begins the Balsamic Moon phase - the phase that is out of space-time.  Balsamic Moon phase is neither part of the last lunar cycle (month) nor part of the next lunar cycle (month).  It is the time when we release feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and events from the past month and prepare our mental landscape for a new month.  Just like a gardener weeding the soil before planting something new, we weed out our minds and free space for the new to enter.

This time around, however, we are clearing way for the fulfillment of our highest desire courtesy of the Mahavidya Shodashi - She Who Is Beautiful.  Shodashi does not necessarily bring what we want most; she brings what is our highest desire - as in highest and best for us.  What we think is best for us is not always what the Mahavidyas think is best for us.  They look at what our higher self wants.

A major turning-point has been reached as it becomes apparent that the citizens of the industrialized world are not prepared to back the leaders who would take them into yet another senseless and utterly inappropriate military adventure.  Yes, there is suffering and heartbreak in Syria, caused by years of divisive attitudes and policies, and it needs urgent, thoughtful, and compassionate attention.  It does not, however, warrant armed intervention from nations whose government leaders believe themselves to be better able to resolve the issues than those who are directly involved: the Syrians themselves.  The arrogance that attitude demonstrates is truly mind-blowing.  It would also appear that other factors are at work here which no one is talking about, even at governmental levels, because they concern secret agendas that cannot be admitted to.  Those who wish to intervene militarily are not too seriously concerned with what is best for the Syrian people.

We’re in really exciting times with regards to shifting the tide against genetically engineered (GE) foods and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). As you know, I was a big supporter of the California GMO labeling campaign, and while we lost the vote by an incredibly narrow margin last November, Proposition 37 catalyzed an enormous amount of awareness across the US.

More people are now aware of GMO’s than we could possibly have ever reached through educational efforts alone, investing the same amount of money that we invested in Prop. 37. It really marked the beginning of the end for GM foods in the US. He believes we are now at the most critical stage in the history of GMO activism in the United States.

The energy this month is like a diamond — it is shiny, sharp, and clarifying.  The energy can also be very valuable this month.  This month provides an opportunity for you to have a fresh start.  There is a sense that this month is like a new beginning, like a new year.  Give yourself extra time this month to think about what direction you want to take with your life.  Consider how you want your life to be in the future and what changes you can make now in order to accomplish those goals later on.  As if it were a new year, this month you might consider making resolutions for the upcoming year and even the upcoming decade.

Another way this month is like the energy of a diamond is that this is a clarifying time.  You will be able to see things more clearly than you could before, so anything you have been denying or resisting will come to the surface.  Mistakes you have made will become more evident, but your successes will also become more evident.  It is important to try to see things clearly this month.  Take time each day to really look at what choices you made, how things went, and what you are learning.
