As we march along into our new world we need to stop and ask ourselves what we want that new world to be like, and realize that new world begins with each of us creating what our own world will be like. It begins with ourselves. Stop and take time to evaluate your life. Are you doing and being what makes you happy? Does your life hold a deep meaning? Are you finally figuring out that what you have or what car you drive or what neighborhood you live in  does not define who you are and should not have the power to bring you happiness or not. How you feel and who you are comes from deep within you, from your values, your soul, your true desires, your authentic self.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Unseasonably warm weather in parts of Alaska has complicated training for some mushers already signed up for the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

It has also forced the cancellation of several qualifying races for future rookies of the famous 1,000-mile trek to Nome.

FRESNO, Calif. -- The freeze gripping the West appeared on the verge of easing Tuesday, but farmers who spent millions to protect crops were still assessing damage, some produce prices climbed, and businesses and residents dealt with burst pipes.

The National Weather Service predicted another frosty night, but said temperatures would begin to warm as high pressure moved east.

A New Happier You!

The greatest goal you can set for this year is to make peace with your life, no matter what your circumstances. These ten powerful insights from Eckhart Tolle will get you started.

Don't seek happiness. If you seek it you won't find it, because seeking is the antithesis of happiness. Happiness is ever elusive, but freedom from unhappiness is attainable now, by facing what is rather than making up stories about it.

January 17, 2012 – NEW ZEALAND – A magnitude-3.3 earthquake that struck Christchurch this afternoon could be the 11,000th tremor since September 4, 2010. The quake hit at 12.55pm, 15 kilometers east of Christchurch at a depth of 6km. Over 163 people reported feeling the “moderate” shake on the GeoNet website. According to Christchurch Quake Map, the quake was the 11,000th the region has experienced since the magnitude-7.1 struck early on September 4 2010. GNS Science geological hazard modeler Matt Gerstenberger said 11,000 quakes was a significant but expected number for the region to have experienced.

January 17, 2012 – EARTH – Stromboli (Italy): The lava overflow that started on Monday and reached about 400 m elevation on the Sciara del Fuoco has stopped (for now).  Strong explosions felt in houses in the village continue to occur frequently and tremor remains elevated. Etna volcano: The strombolian activity inside Bocca Nuova crater has ended abruptly yesterday. Colima (Mexico) has entered a new eruptive phase with more explosions during the past days. Popocatépetl (Mexico): Activity has not changed significantly: there are 1-2 weak emissions per hour, sometimes producing small quantities of ash.

2013: where soul meets body Lauren C Gorgo

Happy New Year! So not only did we make it to 2013… a very sacred, powerful, wildly creative, alchemical & transformative (13) year…but to a new (golden) world age. Tho its hard to wrap my head around what that means for me/you/us just yet, a congratulations is definitely in order. The full-on celebrations have not quite begun…we still have some denser-body integrating to do :( …but if you pay close attention, you can feel the party starting in your heart.

There is so much I could write about since my last report which was technically a month ago, yet feels like an entire lifetime ago…and for many, this is exactly true. We are literally now living an entirely new life since the soul merge that took place between the 12:12:12 and the 12:21, the sacred (re)union within us that I have referred to in the past as our “spiritual sweet-spot”, the marriage of the divine masculine/feminine forces…where spirit meets matter, where head meets heart, where soul meets body, where ascension occurs.

What Now?

Space Weather Update~ INCOMING CME BOOSTS ODDS FOR AURORAS

Lia's picture

INCOMING CME BOOSTS ODDS FOR AURORAS: NOAA forecasters estimate a 30% to 45% chance of polar geomagnetic storms on Jan. 17th when a CME is expected to hit Earth's magnetic field. The impact could spark bright auroras around the Arctic Circle. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

Even before the CME's arrival, auroras are already arcing across the skies of northern Scandinavia. Entitle this photo Reflections:

Rune Bjørkli took the picture on January 15th from Porsanger, Norway. "For this 60 second exposure I used an Olympus E-M5 set at ISO 1600," says Bjørkli. "The long exposure revealed the lights in the water as well as the sky."

Stay tuned to the aurora gallery for more reflections as the CME approaches.

Greetings for 2013 from Shanta in Mt. Shasta

Lia's picture

My move to Mt. Shasta after 12:12:12 added an extra dimension to the dimensional shifts we were already experiencing. A few days after my arrival, while I sorted boxes on December 20, it began to snow and did not stop until Christmas Day, leaving an amazing 4 feet of fluffy snow sparkling everywhere in this small town of Mt. Shasta. When my internet failed to be connected, I was put into enforced detachment, not entirely unwelcome, because the last quarter of 2012 had been so busy and intense. I was happy to focus on organizing, unpacking and creating sacred space within my new little home. All the while I was relishing the display of Nature outside my window, feeling sincere gratitude for finally arriving to stay at the foot of Mt. Shasta, one of the seven sacred mountains of the world. It seemed like a perfect completion to 2012, the most brilliant, interesting, empowering, overwhelming and sacred year I have ever experienced.
