Daily Message ~ Thursday October 16, 2014

Frustration comes from a belief that things are wrong or unfolding (or not unfolding) in a way that is contrary to what you think they should. Yet, the universe is always conspiring to assist you and to move you into your next highest experience the fastest and most efficient way possible.

Dear Ones, the universe works with the energies of in and out, ebb and flow, action and rest. It is necessary to create balance for you and your planet. Trust! Know that a long lull will always be followed by a period of action, just as intense movement will always be followed by rest. Have faith and trust in the wisdom of the system, and know that energies will always move according to exactly what you need at any given moment.

Simply put, if you are in a rest period, you are in energetic preparation for action, and if you are in an action phase, you are accomplishing much before it is time to rest. Make peace with a lull by remembering a time when you were so busy you were exhausted and how good it felt to finally get time off to rest. Embrace an action period, not by being overwhelmed by activity, but by remembering how good it feels to move after a long period of inactivity.

6 Life Lessons From Surfers

By Jade Small

Surfing is not just a sport, it’s a perspective. It’s a way of life. Yes, that sounds dramatic, but hear me out. Surfing can teach you life lessons you won’t learn anywhere else. Let me share a few with you.

They attack their days

Early morning is usually the best time for waves and the ideal time to awaken the body so many surfers get up early before work to squeeze in a session. It shows that you like to start your days off right and that you can make room for your passions alongside your responsibilities. Surfers live a carpe diem lifestyle – who doesn’t want a bit of that in their life?

Not all hard work earns you a paycheck

Perhaps this follows the preceding post on love. But the phrase “labor of love” is a good one. Aside from a minuscule percentage of professionals, surfing will not make you rich. Sure, there are jobs related to surfing that allows you the freedom to surf, but you will find very few people who make a living simply for going out and surfing. You have to put in your time. There are no shortcuts. Your reward isn’t money. This is a very powerful lesson, showing that...

10 Alarming Facts About Factory Farms That Will Break Your Heart

Source: www.collective-evolution.com | Original Post Date: March 21, 2014 –

10-alarming-facts-about-factory-farms-that-will-break-your-heart

After hearing these facts about the conditions that animals are forced to endure on factory farms you might be displeased to learn that 99% of all of the meat that is sold in the U.S. comes from factory farms (1), something to keep in mind.

*Warning: Some of the images used are graphic*

I know that these can be very hard to look at, it was hard enough to do the research for the article. However, if this is what it takes for people to wake up and realize exactly what they are contributing to, then I am all for it, as it needs to be done. I know a number of people who have gone completely Vegan after watching the graphic film “Earthlings,” which exposes the inner workings of factory farms. People are simply unaware of...

How Brazil Is Blazing A Trail For Electronic Democracy

Source: www.mashable.com | Original Post Date: September 14, 2010 –

how-brazil-is-blazing-a-trail-for-electronic-democracy3

In the land of all-night samba clubs and soccer fanatics, Brazil is throwing its famously high-energy spirit into the untested waters of online democracy. Multimillion dollar budgets are being handed over to online “town halls,” and the federal government is crowdsourcing legislative consulting through interactive web tools.

While the effectiveness of e-democracy has yet to be proven, there are some signs of more equitable resource distribution and increased participation. Here, we’ll take a look at participatory budgeting, e-legislation, and why the United States Congress has been more hesitant to adopt such technologies.

A History of Democratic Innovation

Readers who are somewhat familiar with Brazil’s tattered history of corruption may have difficulty swallowing ...

11 Reasons Why The Federal Reserve Should Be Abolished

Source: www.theeconomiccollapseblog.com | Original Post Date: May 6, 2013 –

11-reasons-why-the-federal-reserve-should-be-abolished

If the American people truly understood how the Federal Reserve system works and what it has done to us, they would be screaming for it to be abolished immediately.  It is a system that was designed by international bankers for the benefit of international bankers, and it is systematically impoverishing the American people.  The Federal Reserve system is the primary reason why our currency has declined in value by well over 95 percent and our national debt has gotten more than 5000 times larger over the past 100 years.  The Fed creates our “booms” and our “busts”, and they have done an absolutely miserable job of managing our economy.  But why do we need a bunch of unelected private bankers to manage our economy and print our money for us in the first place?  Wouldn’...

10 Psychological Studies That Will Change What You Think You Know About Yourself

Source: www.huffingtonpost.com | Original Post Date: October 18, 2013 –

10-psychological-studies-that-will-change-what-you-think-you-know-about-yourself

Why do we do the things we do? Despite our best attempts to “know thyself,” the truth is that we often know astonishingly little about our own minds, and even less about the way others think. As Charles Dickens once put it, “A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other.”

Psychologists have long sought insights into how we perceive the world and what motivates our behavior, and they’ve made enormous strides in lifting that veil of mystery. Aside from providing fodder for stimulating cocktail-party conversations, some of the most famous psychological experiments of the past century reveal universal and often surprising truths about human nature. Here are...

Why Each Year Seems to Disappear More Quickly Than the Last

hourglass

Anna Hunt, Staff Writer
Waking Times

For most people, each passing month of their lives seems to feel shorter than the previous. Many of us can’t believe that stores are already starting to display Christmas products, and if you’re writing a check, you might still catch yourself writing 2013 when 2014 is nearly over.

All clocks follow the same 12 hour / 60 minute symmetry, yet studies suggest that as we get older, we don’t experience time the same way. And there are many theories that explain why it feels like time speeds up as we grow older.

Many psychologists believe that as we age, our perception of time begins to accelerate versus time actually speeding up. Studies indicate tha...

Moderately strong M4.3 solar flare erupts from southeast limb

An impulsive solar flare measuring M4.3 at its peak time erupted from the southeast limb of the Sun on October 16, 2014. The event started at 12:58, peaked at 13:03 and ended at 13:05 UTC.

A 10cm Radio Burst (TenFlare) lasting 1 minute (180 sfu) was associated with the event. The source is the same region that erupted with impressive M2.2 solar flare on October 14th. Elevated solar activity is expected as the region rotates onto the Earth side of the Sun.

At 07:37 UTC, a C7.7 flare occurred from the same location. A Type IV radio sweep was reported at 07:22 UTC and some material could be seen in SDO/AIA 304 imagery surging south of the flare location. A C6.4 flare followed at 09:23 UTC from the same area, likely the vicinity of Old Regions 2172 (S12, L=241) and 2173 (S14, L=250).

NOAA SWPC forecasters estimate 20% chance for M-class, and 01% chance for X-class solar flares over the next three days (October 16 - 18).

Generally nominal s...

Hydraulic fracturing linked to 400 earthquakes in Ohio, study

Hydraulic fracturing triggered a series of small earthquakes in 2013 on a previously unmapped fault in Harrison County, Ohio, according to a study published in the journal Seismological Research Letters (SRL) on October 14, 2014.

Nearly 400 small earthquakes occurred between October 1 and December 13, 2013, including 10 "positive" magnitude earthquake, none of which were reported felt by the public. The 10 positive magnitude earthquakes, which ranged from magnitude 1.7 to 2.2, occurred between October 2 and 19, coinciding with hydraulic fracturing operations at nearby wells.

This series of earthquakes is the first known instance of seismicity in the area.

Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, is a method for extracting gas and oil from shale rock by injecting a high-pressure water mixture directed at the rock to release the gas inside. The process of hydraulic fracturing involves injecting water, sand and chemicals into the rock under high pressure to create cracks.

The process of cracking rocks results in micro-earthquakes. Hydraulic fracturing usually creates ...

Hurricane "Gonzalo" strengthens as it barrels toward Bermuda

Hurricane "Gonzalo", the second major hurricane of the 2014 Atlantic season after Hurricane "Edouard", has strengthened overnight and is again a dangerous Category 4 hurricane today as it tracks toward the small British island territory of Bermuda. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Gonzalo is the first Category 4 hurricane in the Atlantic basin since Ophelia in 2011.

According to their Public Advisory issued 09:00 UTC today, the eye of Hurricane "Gonzalo" was located about 485 nautical miles (898 km/558 miles) to the south-southwest of Bermuda. A turn toward the north-northeast and an increase in forward speed are expected tonight and Friday. The center of Gonzalo is expected to pass near Bermuda on Friday, October 17.

Satellite imagery indicates that maximum sustained winds have increased to near 220 km/h (140 mph) with higher gusts (Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale). Fluctuations in intensity a...

Balancing Act: Day 44, Kan 5

BALANCING ACT Take time each day to go within: meditate, pray, contemplate, breathe. Begin first thing in the morning before you arise. Feel gratitude for the experience and blessing of being on Earth at this time. Be mindful of all the blessings you have. Ask for guidance for the things that are happening around you that pull you out of a state of gratitude. Set your intentions for what you choose to create this day.

Now you are ready to arise and begin your day. When possible, follow the lunar and solar cycles. Arise at dawn and gaze at the sun while filling your soul with love of the universe and all it contains. Do you have any idea how important sun gazing is to your physical form? The indigenous ones know and have followed this practice for centuries.

Ties to Cut – Ties to Mend

Ida Lawrence, Contributor
Waking Times

Spending time in the universe within… it’s vital. We all know the importance of being our own rescuer, especially when there is emotional bombardment to deal with. Although we may wish we could be insulated from the negativity and distress, it’s going to be there, people are going to be affected, and thoughts can become scattered. For me, meditation has been both a rescue and a return home.

The other day I saw a Facebook meme that reminded me of how much we need to turn inward. It said, “I am homesick for a place I don’t even know exists, one where my heart is full and my soul is understood.” I can relate to the feeling that the writer describes, as I had that same longing for years, sometimes believing I was misplaced… my soul could...

What Title Did God Give You?

Beloveds, it is not necessary to understand everything that goes on in life. It is not a requirement of life that you have an answer or explanation. Oh, yes, it would be nice to understand all and have no questions left to ask. “So this is how this happened. So this is what this means. Now I see the whole thing from beginning to end.” However, this is not how it mostly is in life in the world.

It’s mostly not possible to trace the tracks of life. Most likely, you just have to shrug your shoulders and keep going. You just may have to accept. And what does it mean to accept? It means to just let it go and move on. This is progress in life. Letting something go and keep on moseying along.

I didn’t give you the title of Investigator of Life. I haven’t made you the Record Keeper of Life. I have made you a traveler. If the inn you stop at tonight isn’t of the quality you prefer, you get up in the morning and keep going and look for an inn more pleasing where you can stay tonight.

Beloveds, what else is there to do? You could resent the inn you stayed in last night. You could make A-rated inns a cause. You could sue. You could shackle your life to the past and think you are a crusader.

Here’s the thing, beloveds. Life does not have to follow your sketch of it. You really have to take life as it comes and keep going forward. You don’t want to backslide. You don’t want to forever live in the past, trying to go back and fix it according to your standards. You simply don’t know enough.

By Dejan Davchevski

A lot of people mistake Spirituality for Religion or some mysterious, supernatural occurrence. Some even think of it as a sect but this is because of their lack of knowledge and their fear of being manipulated.

If we move past this and try to study and understand what spirituality actually is, we’ll come to a realization that it is nothing mysterious or supernatural nor in any way connected to a sect of any kind.

These 7 differences between Religion and Spirituality will help you understand what Spirituality actually is.
