Big Story Weather from April 5-7: A very large spring time storm started to take shape over the Rockies this past weekend bringing very heavy snowfall to the Rockies and also the start of some severe weather over the Southern Plains.
Big Story Weather Discussion for April 8: High pressure over Canada will bring partly cloudy skies to the majority of the East Coast and westward back into the Ohio River Valley extending southward into the Gulf Coast region. The strong low pressure system will begin to push out of the Rockies today. Expect to see blizzard like conditions through Colorado. This will expand into the Northern Plains by this evening with many places getting over one foot of snow along with 0.5 inches of rainfall. Severe weather will also be on the increase today for the Southern Plains. Expect to see heavy rain and also some severe weather in the region.
