This newsletter looks at the historic Uranus-Pluto Square that is occurring between 2012 and 2015, through the lens of the third occurrence: on May 20, 2013.

The May 20, 2013 Uranus-Pluto Square is very close to the closing of the Tri-eclipse portal which began on April 25, and closes on May 25. This timing only ramps up the power of the Uranus/Pluto Square and makes a statement about the quality of the eclipse portal. More on this in a forthcoming newsletter. The outer planets in our solar system are genearlly Trans-personal, i.e. they usually operate at the level of the collective, of mass consciousness. In our times, however, the outer planets have more influence on the consciousness of the individual at a personal level. This is because we are on a fast-track of evolution at a critical stage in the timeline of humanity and the planet. The vibrations of these energies at the edge of our solar system bring potential for awakening and transformation. And so, when two outer planets engage in a key alignment, it sets the tone for decades, and provides an opportunity for shamanic initiation into higher realities and deeper expressions of love.

Right now we are experiencing the SQUARE relationship between the outer planets Uranus and Pluto. A square occurs when planets make an exact 90-degree angle to each other. The square aspect of Uranus/Pluto occurs in a cycle of 40-50 years.

There will be 7 exact connections between Uranus and Pluto during the years 2012-2015. Two of the Uranus/Pluto squares have already occurred: on June 24, 2012 and September 19, 2012. The third event is now - May 20, 2013; and we will have another event this year on November 1, 2013. Future squares will occur on April 21, 2014, Dec 15, 2014 and March 16, 2015.

To begin to relate personally to Uranus Square Pluto - the signature planetary alignment of our times - consider the dates of all 7 squares, looking back to the past 'hits' and thinking ahead to the future events. They are points of crisis and change for all of us. We will also link them to the chakras in our discussion below. Keep in mind that during this unfolding cycle, "deeply felt undercurrents which formerly influenced events from beneath the surface are becoming major waves in the collective which are now made obvious to all." Most squares between planets occur over a period of about 18 months, but the Twenty-Teens Uranus/Pluto alignment spans four years, which pushes its effects very deeply into our consciousness and seizes our attention. This alignment is one of the most significant and most challenging planetary influences in a generation.

On May 20, Uranus in Aries is Direct and Pluto in Capricorn is Retrograde. Of the 7 Uranus-Pluto squares, Uranus is Direct four times and Pluto is Direct three times. Uranus is a very progressive, futuristic AQUARIAN energy, whereas Capricorn is associated with tradition, crystallized government and corporate institutions, ancestry and the past. Since, Aries is an intense rush into the new, the energy of Uranus in Aries is clearly Directing this process more so than Pluto in Capricorn. Or, to put it another way, THE FUTURE ALWAYS WINS.

The current Uranus-Pluto dynamic is the waxing square phase of a 125-year cycle that began in the 1960s, when Uranus and Pluto were conjunct in Virgo. The waxing square in this long planetary cycle is similar to the First Quarter Moon phase in its energy and manifestation. This means we are at a crisis point in integrating these energies. It is a PUSH toward fuller manifestation. 

Uranus and Pluto were last in a square configuration (a waning square, similar to the Last Quarter Moon phase) in the early 1930's. That square was winding down a long Uranus/Pluto cycle that began in 1845-1856.

The current square marks the first crisis-phase of the cycle that began with the conjunctions of 1965-66 (with the full arc being 1960 - 1972). As you can see - like all outer planet transits - the interaction between Uranus and Pluto establishes am epochal, generational cycle. To provide a context for this: Uranus and Pluto will OPPOSE each other beginning in 2045 (some of you reading this MIGHT see that in your lifetime); and the next exact CONJUNCTION (like the one in the 60s) will occur in 2104.

Because this square refers back to the 1960s, those people born during the 60's are stepping up to the plate at this time. This is my generation, as I was born in 1964 with Uranus and Pluto at 13* and 16* Virgo respectively. So we are about 40 (if born around 1972) or 50 (if born in the early to mid 60s) now. This is our prime-time for sharing our unique talents with the world, stepping into our power, and striving to change the culture in ways that are healthy to life for all beings and creatures,

Some Virgo issues up for review now: "healthcare (the battle over Universal Healthcare abounds) and other well-being issues, including alternative forms of healing (the surge of Reiki, massage, yoga and etc), workforce and job challenges (it is safe to say that the old 9-5 work-day structure has its days numbered), nutrition (veganism), food production (can you say MONSANTO or as I like to call it, Mon-Satan-o), changes in the way structure our days, and the more esoteric mind-body-spirit connections." In the spiritual sense, Virgo is the energy of the PRIESTESS, dedicated to the sacred work of caretaking the healthy patterns of the ecosystem and earth's natural rhythms. The priestess is humble; she lives simply. Her living space is an altar, she has an altar in nature, and her body is a TEMPLE. She purifies and perfects the form aspect of life. The primal goddess for Virgo is Spider Grandmother who weaves the web upon which all Life lives, and maintains a sound grid for humans, animals and nature to thrive. Virgo is also associated with MINDFULNESS - being present in the moment and finding the sacred in the most mundane, routine day-to-day activities and chores. Virgo is the Priestess of the Laundry Room. In Virgo, we chop wood and carry water both before and after enlightenment. We are not ascending into another realm here, we are anchoring Spirit into such 'boring' activities as: vacuuming the livingroom, grocery shopping, or making a pot of coffee (a universal daily ritual in the Western World that can literally become a sacred ceremony!).

And so, talkin' 'bout my generation, let's keep this in mind:

X-Class Solar Flare 5-13-13

Right now, at the May 20, 2013 Square, we are experiencing a cleansing of the SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA. The Solar Plexus is the seat of POWER and how we use our personality self/ego in the world. Right use of this energy is one of the challenges of this time. Wrong use of power creates bondage, greed and the decline of high civilization. The key is to move the energy of the Solar Plexus Chakra up into the HEART CHAKRA and operate from there, utilizing the Solar Plexus for right use of personal power. This then leads to the illuminated use of the Third Eye. Here we will find a new vision for a new world.

Astrologer Alan Oken eloquently explains the process of raising our energy from the Solar Plexus into the Heart: "Recognize that there is a Higher Magnetism of Love that is tangible and palpable and as we draw up into It, It draws down into us. This is called our Spiritual Path and it is centered in the Heart (not the solar plexus which the personality tends to mask as the heart--NOT!) and focuses through the point between our eyebrows (and not in the lower mind)."

You will note that the November 1, 2013 Uranus/Pluto square represents the Heart Chakra. This will be is THE Pivotal Square that we work with during the entire span of 4 years. It just so *happens* to be placed next to a HYBRID Annular/Solar Eclipse (on November 3, 2013). This is quite a phenomenal synergy of energies! November will be a Time to Remember. More on this in the days to come. 

As far as working with the current SOLAR PLEXUS energies on May 20, 2013 (and for a month before and a month after), first consider the play on words with SOUL and SOLAR, i.e. the Soul-ar Plexus. In addition, we can use the color YELLOW and commune with the photonic emanations from the SUN (El Sol). ISN'T IT INTERESTING that we have had such intense quadruple solar flares (May 11-14, 2013) as we lead up to the Uranus/Pluto Square, and in the middle of a powerful Tri-eclipse portal? If we so desire, we can allow the Sun to burn clean the impurities of the Solar Plexus in all of us, revealing blinding light for guiding the way!

The correspondence of the 7 Uranus/Pluto squares and the 7 Chakras is a theory that I *received* in a Uranian-like experience recently. I offer it for your consideration to determine whether it resonates with you. As mentioned above, think back to the past two squares in 2012 and discern whether those energies were tuned into your Root and Sacral chakras by analyzing what was going on for you at the time. We can also examine what was going on in society to gain clues. Explore if you like, and let me know if this correspondence does resonate with you :)

Pluto is the agent of evolution. Uranus is an agent of sudden enlightenment. Together they tear asunder our current reality, revealing a new form of life. Here are the players, described in this section and the next. First, a look at Pluto:

The first insight, Be Patient: this is "the dilemma of the planetary square: Don't expect things to change quickly. Pluto - which represents 'the powers that be', greed, money, and evildoers - is in the sign of Capricorn, which represents governments, corporations and what we have established in our world. The general thing I (and others) say about Pluto is that it is THE LORD OF DEATH. But what does this mean exactly, especially for our day-to-day lives (Virgo wants to know!) and our transformation potential?

The Pluto process is ORGANIC. It's a natural cycle - birth/life, change/growth, DEATH, the Resurrection, followed by new birth/life. And on and on and on. Energy cannot be destroyed; it simply changes form.

And so, the best way to handle Pluto in your life is to LET GO. You can't fight Mother Nature! If you fight the changes, this only intensifies your natural growing pains. Resistance is futile. These organic processes simply happen as our lives unfold.

Imagine if a snake fought the natural process of shedding its skin. It would be a neurotic snake to begin with:) but it also could perish in the process. The Pluto path has also been compared to the metamorphosis of the humble, creeping caterpillar, entering the muffled, dark cocoon and emerging as the splendid butterfly - soaring into bright colorful flight and dawning light! If you interfere with the cocoon phase (the uncomfortable, confusing stage) of butterfly creation - trying to RUSH the process (which we often want to do) - then the butterfly is half-formed and crippled. And it will not survive to see its glorious New Day.

Keep in mind that the bottom line with Pluto is Power. For you on a basic level this means owning your Power and boldly stepping into an authentic life. Whatever is passing away is simply a block to doing so.

And so the Pluto process is gentle like the leaves falling and feeding the soil in the autumn. And yet this process can be devastating. Loss hurts. Letting go is difficult. But these things are part of The Human Condition; when we incarnate on earth, we are all subject to perennial, unrelenting change. But we always rise to meet it, and we always evolve. Think back to the challenges of the past 20 years and how far we've come, both personally and collectively. It's just a matter of time. The fullness of time, and the simple unfolding of progression into the future, the inescapable future.  

uranus 

Uranus is so very different from Pluto, but not unlike Pluto in its effects. They just go about it in different ways. Uranus throws shocking instantaneous RADICAL change at us. It is a lightning bolt carrying downloads of high voltage *light and information* from the realms of Spirit - and from other dimensions, from the future, from parallel timelines, from the Multiverse, from the strings of String Theory, from the Higgs-Boson God Particle, and etc etc. With Aquarius the possibilities are literally endless. 

Uranian change is not natural, not from the perspective of earth. But it is Uranus that ensures we don't get lost forever in the endless cycle of birth and death so ingrained in our earth experience - stuck on the wheel as it were. Pluto's changes take time. Uranus knows nothing of time. You will change in a flash! It is breakdown and/or breakthrough. You need this - you want this, although you may not know it. Uranus says: You'll thank me later!

HOW STRANGE IS THIS PLANET ANYWAY? Did you know that Uranus is the only planet that rotates on its side.? "Uranus orbits the Sun in its own unique manner, rolls around the Sun like a barrel - rather than a top, like the earth. And its moons, instead of orbiting the planet from left to right, go over the top of it and then under (!). If we could see them, they would resemble the lights on a ferris wheel." Uranus' planetary stats are simply an expression of its archetypal energy. Things get weird with Uranus. Uranus is associated with Aquarius, and so the Uranus/Pluto square with Uranus in Aries (BAM! New Beginnings!) ushers in the Aquarian Age. We are changing in radical ways to meet it. It's a tug of war, but in the final analysis, progressive change is inevitable. It might take longer if we resist and dig our heels in (as a collective) but the train will arrive at the station

On a personal level, watch for DOWNLOADS of information from Spirit. Watch for sudden AH-HA! moments of brilliant insight. Keep a notepad with you at all times, because these lightning-strikes can be fleeting. You will channel Spirit when you least expect it, and your channeling will be genius! And - this is really helpful considering that Pluto is involved - you will receive extremely valuable insight and solutions for dealing with losses and the shift of power that Pluto brings during this square.

Curiously, did you know that Saturn isn't the only planet in our solar system that has rings? Uranus has 11 (eleven) rings. Eleven is the number of the MASTER. 11:11 is a significant MEMO from the Universe to alert us that we are waking up to new levels of consciousness. And so, Uranus is related to the 11:11. Watch for this number sighting and when you see it, notice what you are thinking or what's going on around you - information is coming in for you in that moment.
