A selection of quotes from Aesop:
A crust eaten in peace is better than a banquet partaken in anxiety.
We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.
Outside show is a poor substitute for inner worth.

Peaches for Prevention and Halting Cancer Growth
Can we just hang up our hats and admit that every fruit is a superfruit? It turns out peaches are beyond amazing.
A Washington State University food scientist and colleagues at Texas A&M have found that compounds in peaches can inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells and their ability to spread. They are emphasizing good nutrition for preventing cancer.
Compelling research in Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, showed that the compounds could be recommended as a novel addition to therapies that reduce the risk of metastasis, or spread. But it doesn't have to come from a compound or supplement.
Just two to three peaches a day, which could easily be achieved with a juicer, blender or blaster - have an astounding effect.

Children's hyperactivity 'is not a real disease', says US expert - The Guardian
Neuroscientist says children are being 'labelled' as having ADHD when there could be other reasons for their disorder
One of the world's leading neuroscientists, whose work has been acknowledged by work and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith, has suggested that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is not "a real disease".
On the eve of a visit to Britain to meet Duncan Smith and the health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, Dr Bruce D Perry told the Observer that the label of ADHD outlined a broad set of symptoms. "It is best thought of as a description. If you look at how you end up with that label, it is remarkable because any one of us at any given time would fit at least a couple of those criteria," he said.
Prescriptions for methylphenidate drugs, such as Ritalin, which are used to treat children diagnosed as suffering from ADHD, have soared by 56% in the UK, from 420,000 in 2007 to 657,000 in 2012. Such "psychostimulants" are thought to stimulate a part of the brain that changes mental and behavioural reactions.
However, Perry, a senior fellow of the ChildTrauma Academy in Houston, Texas, said he was concerned that children were being labelled as having ADHD when that merely described the symptoms of a range of different physiological problems. The symptoms that lead to a diagnosis of ADHD include inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness over a sustained period.
Perry added that clinicians were also too readily prescribing psychostimulants to children when the evidence suggested there were no long-term benefits. Animal studies have raised concerns over the potential for damage to be done.

How to Overcome The Limits of the Mind and Connect to the Wisdom of Your Soul - The Healers Journal
HJ: The mind is inherently limited. The soul is, by its very nature, unlimited. When you integrate this realization and ease off trying to figure everything out, you instantly align yourself with the flow of the universe and life becomes effortless. Simply by listening to your intuition and trusting your gut feeling you are guided to be in the perfect place at the perfect moment and everything you need finds its way into your life.
It sounds beautiful, right? And it’s something you can absolutely experience in your life — if and when you stop trying to think everything through and learn to simply trust. I should know! I have been on both sides of the coin…
Thinking, by its very nature, is limited because the universe and reality are far too complex to be able to process with the mind, no matter how smart or intelligent we are. There are just too many variables and unknowns to be able to accurately know what will happen. Therefore living like this is naive. However, the soul is not limited by the same constraints as the mind. In fact, it is unlimited (in scientific terms, it is quantum in nature) and can successfully navigate the complexities of existence in this universe. It speaks to you via your heart — specifically your feelings.
When you learn to intimately tune into these feelings, you will be effortlessly guided through any challenge, decision or situation you face towards the outcome that is best for your highest good and growth. Everything you ever need you already have and it comes to you via the voice of your soul.

This is your life – grab the wheel with both hands and keep steering yourself in the right direction. – Positive Thoughts
Either you own your situation or it will own you. Either you take responsibility for your life, or someone else will. Blame is a scapegoat – it’s an easy way out of taking accountability for your own outcome. It’s a lot easier to point the finger at someone or something else instead of looking within. Blame is not constructive; it does not help you or anyone else – nobody wins in the blame game. The amount of energy and stress it takes to place blame elsewhere takes away from your ability to move forward and find a real solution.
And remember, the road you are traveling may be the more challenging one, but don’t lose faith. Don’t listen to the doubters, don’t let setbacks keep you down, and most of all, don’t give up on yourself.

Daily Message ~ Sunday March 30, 2014 - Trinity Esoterics
You came into the body holding every trait you needed to have a complete and satisfying life expression. Then, over time, people started telling you that being you wasn’t good enough. You should behave certain ways, you should pursue certain things, you should believe certain teachings. Before long, those beautiful traits got buried under all the things others said you should be and do. You started to live very inauthentically, and that led to a deep dissatisfaction and great discomfort.

The Myth of External Salvation
Maneuvering the Ship through Beauty
by Walkingsoul
There's so many things in "modern" life that feed into this illusion that we need someone or something else to come and save us. It's the basis of many religions, yet the pattern is even still there for many who have given up on religion. We believe some other person is going to come along and fix our life, to save us from unhappiness. How convenient that would be, but I've never seen it work that way except in movies. Trying to find someone else to "fix" you doesn't bring salvation at all, it's precisely why we have so many co-dependent relationships.

Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured. ~ Mark Twain
Anger is a prominently felt emotion in today’s time and age. Somebody is angry with the government, somebody can’t stand the public transport, someone has issues with their colleagues, and it doesn’t end here. Someone is angry because he is not able to exert power, exercise supremacy, or can’t cope up with the brushings that life in general has to offer. We all have experienced that emotion and know that the outcome is never pleasant.
