Full Moon in Libra, 3.27.13 – Moving Through Fears & Getting the Balance Right

Hello friends. Well here we are at the last week of March 2013, and it will soon be Easter Sunday. Whether or not you celebrate the religious holiday or a more secular version, in my opinion the end of the Lenten season and the start of Spring (especially this year,) is reason to celebrate. :)

Our approaching Full Moon in Libra is full of interesting and potentially powerful dynamics. This is not a lazy or kick-back kind of moon and may provide us with some personal work to do; that is, if we decide to stand up to the task. With our current Aries Stellium (Sun, Venus, Mars & Uranus,) in opposition to this moon, it creates an interesting dynamic of me (Aries) vs. others (Libra.) Also the issue of personal autonomy vs. service to others as a form of relationship maintenance as well as personal service work. In my work with the Akashic Wisdom Keepers over the past four years especially, they have often spoken of the ways that we can be spiritually co-dependent in regards to others and their paths and life choices. In the incoming Aquarian energies, we are learning collectively how to practice more effective self-care while also maintaining compassion to others, without necessarily embroiling ourselves in drama. This has been a work in progress, and for those that identity as empathic and/or highly sensitive, very much so. The whole issue of the self vs. others is indeed a biggie, both spiritually and psychologically; and for many people it has been “up” for examination and possible transformation. This may very well be one of the windows of opportunity we are being gifted with by the Universe.

Though Libra is an Air sign and definitely has a mental aspect to its energy, I feel that in combination with both the strong Aries and incoming Uranus/Pluto square dynamics we have some excellent potential to ascend past the mental/emotional levels if we so choose, and get to the “watcher” aspect of one’s being, which has been attributed to a higher dynamic of the Soul itself. The tendency in any planetary opposition is to pull to one side or the other; but with this Full Moon especially, the middle way (midpoint) of the two energies is highly desired.

Be responsible, respectable, stable but gullible. Concerned and caring, help the helpless, but always remain ultimately selfish. – Martin Gore

Get the Balance Right – Depeche Mode

The Sabian Symbol for Libra 7 (Moon): A woman feeding chickens and protecting them from the hawks. This is a symbol of the creative division of labor between the functions of man and nature, and of the dual constitution of the soul in its responsibilities of conservation on the one hand and of developments on the other. There is here every capacity for a control of events through a nurturing of the things which are desirable and a rejection of those which have no immediate value. The keyword is shrewdness. When positive, the degree is a high competence in administering the duties of normal experience and a very special skill in protecting the self’s real interests, and when negative, a complete personal ineptitude in the face of life’s everyday and recurrent complexities. – Marc Edmund Jones/Elsie Wheeler

This symbol has also been associated with our thoughts, activities of daily life and also our fears. What are the “hawks” waiting to sweep down on our vulnerable chickens? Are they real or imaginary? What are the things in our life we hold most sacred? This is definitely a symbol of discernment as there certainly are things in life to be careful of, but it also guards against excessive fear that when unchecked can take us out of the NOW moment, and perhaps worse can lead to a kind of paranoia. Again, we are back to our Libran balance between these two particular poles.

The Sabian Symbol for Aries 7 (Sun): A man successfully expressing himself in two realms at once. This is a symbol of a creative division of labor within the self, such as distinguishes human kind from the lower orders of life and enables any individual to participate in the experience of many interpenetrating realms of reality. There is capacity here for a complete control of events by shifting from one to another focus of emphasis whenever it proves convenient or expedient. The keyword is proficiency. When positive, the degree is unlimited versatility and a special gift for divorcing the things of issue from whatever lacks immediate pertinence, and when negative, a tendency to defeat all self-competence in an unintelligent scattering of interest. – Marc Edmund Jones/Elsie Wheeler

This is a particularly fascinating symbol as it speaks directly to the dual spiritual nature of human beings: being in the world, but not necessarily of it. Taking care of one’s daily tasks and responsibilities, but not losing the knowledge that we are indeed “spiritual beings having a human experience.” Besides proficiency, a key word for this aspect would also be “discernment,” as in determining what issues in life are truly important and timely, and those which are not. I feel also that the gift of this particular aspect/symbol is the reminder that we are not alone in the Universe, and do have help getting through our challenges by our Guidance Team, Loved Ones and our own Higher Self.

Happy Full Moon.
