Is GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney "a strong believer in stating your position and not wavering," as he once bragged? Or is he, as his onetime presidential rival Gov. John Hunstman called him, a "perfectly lubricated weathervane"? Take a read and decide for yourselves.

ABORTION

Flip
"I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country. I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years, that we should sustain and support it. I sustain and support that law and the right of a woman to make that choice." — Debate with Sen. Edward Kennedy, 1994

"I will preserve and protect a woman's right to choose and am devoted and dedicated to honoring my word in that regard." — Massachusetts Gubernatorial Debate, 2002

Flop
"Look, I was pro-choice. I am pro-life. You can go back to YouTube and look at what I said in 1994. I never said I was pro-choice, but my position was effectively pro-choice. I changed my position." — Iowa Straw poll debate, 2007

"What I would like to see happen would be for the Supreme Court to say, look, we’re going to overturn Roe v. Wade and return to the states the authority to decide whether they want to have abortion or not, state by state. That’s the way it was before Roe v. Wade. So I am firmly pro-life." — Town hall meeting, Hopkinton, NH, 2011

polarizing

I am begining to really dislike this website. This is suppose to be an upbuilding, loving, helping to get use to the new world we are trying to create, and to get rid of old ways. And we have this liberal poster constantly jabbing a stick in the eye of anyone who may disagree with her political view. There is no need to post these political news items here as we can find it everywhere else. Why would you want to be unloving to your brothers and sisters like this. If you know its bothersome to some its up to you to stop it. It only serves to provoke people, and I would hope that is not your intension.

Exposing political lies is

will's picture

Exposing political lies is not the same as being "unloving". If Humanity wasn't concerned with this type of thing, we wouldn't be posting it. If by liberal you mean the literal definition, "favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs", then this whole site is liberal. If you mean we're posting this stuff to serve the interests of the US democrats, I can assure you were are not. They're only slightly less corrupt and backwards than the republicans.

You should be fair Will and

You should be fair Will and remember your stance and apply the same to Obama. I have never witnessed you exposing his lies but only excused them as he being under the control of a negative force of some kind.

Do you think we should report

will's picture

Do you think we should report on what Obama's doing today? He's visiting Ft Bliss to celebrate the anniversary of the end of the Iraq War, one the Republicans started and he ended.

Also, we reported on the NDAA when that was signed.

You see that's is what I'm

Guest's picture

You see that's is what I'm talking about...he did not end the Iraq war it was contacted to end, and when you reported on NCAA you spun it like it was a good thing like they could use it to contain the dark forces! Both sides of the isle are equally complicit, Obama is a willing participant in the dark side, and like I said before hea just playing his role, when his followers finally see the truth it will force many more awakenings. I hope the disappointment isn't too severe.

I'll have to go back and find

Guest's picture

I'll have to go back and find it because I wouldn't expect you to prove me right. In 08 Obama said "if mandates worked we could mandate that everyone buy a house to end homelessness" no we have healthcare mandate. In 08 Obama said he would end the wars by 2011, he said he would close Guantanamo, he said "transparency" talk about flip. All people want is unbiased information from news sources to much to ask?

If you have unbiased sources

will's picture

If you have unbiased sources for stories on Obama, please send them to us. Also, if Ron Paul had been nominated instead of Romney, this would be a whole different story. We like Ron Paul, we're not just playing politics here. Of course, the elite have done everything possible to keep Ron Paul for winning and instead forced in their candidate, Romney. We just put up a story about this.

Which article are you talking about finding? The NDAA one that says it's a precusor to disclosure? I'm certainly not denying we had that article on here, though if you search our site, you'll find many more that cast NDAA is a negative light. We don't just blindly support every single thing Obama has done.

You wanna know why Guantanamo wasn't closed? Here ya go: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/20/barack-obama-guantanamo-cong...

Not really fair to criticize Obama for something he "didn't do" when Congress is actively blocking him from doing it.

Just thought I would add

Rain's picture

Just thought that I would add that the reason you are seeing so many stories about Romney right now is because of the Repub National Convention. Like it or not, he and Hurricane Isaac were all over the media this week. This week was Mitt Romney's week and most of the US media has been focusing on him. Personally, a big part of my mission here on Mother Earth is to bring The Truth to LIGHT. And The Truth is that Mitt Romney has engaged in many shady financial activities; he's changed his policy positions repeatedly and he's done any number of things that are questionable at best. That's not a judgment, it's just a fact. I find him comical, myself, and I AM no longer outraged by his behavior; I just want to know and share the truth. If you find yourself reacting to any Truths that are exposed, you might want to go within and recenter yourself.

I also would like to add that our definitions of unbiased news sources may differ but WE do our best to present the highest TRUTH. That is not something anybody on the TEAM takes lightly. If you think something is biased, you might want to go within and ponder it before you accuse others of doing something wrong. That is not to say that WE never make errors in posting but an article like this one, that lists examples of Romney's flipflopping is not biased; it's just a list of contradictory statements.

Randy, I don't usually respond to negative comments anymore because it's a waste of my time and energy. But I have decided to respond to yours because you have totally misrepresented what is going on here and I AM a really big fan of The Truth.

"And we have this liberal poster constantly jabbing a stick in the eye of anyone who may disagree with her political view."

I did not do this, nor would I. Again, it would be a waste of my time and energy and also unkind, to say the least. I fail to see how reposting an article is the same thing as attacking somebody.

"There is no need to post these political news items here as we can find it everywhere else."

That is your opinion and it's fine. One thing I have learned since joining The Press is that, no matter what WE (WE ARE a TEAM, by the way) post, there will be people who don't like it. We could post the most uplifting, noncontroversial ode to LOVE that was ever written and somebody who is having a bad day will come along and piss all over it. The only way to make everybody happy is to not post anything. Oh, wait... that would make a lot of people unhappy. LOL. See, there is no way to make everybody happy as long as some people are still working through 3D.

Although WE ARE careful about what we choose to post, WE ARE not responsible for how people choose to react to what we post. If you don't like something, move on to the next piece. Nobody is forcing you to read articles like this. YOU ARE just as responsible for the energy you bring to this space as WE ARE.

If you have a legitimate question or concern, then I would suggest you present it in a thoughtful, polite way so that you will get a response in kind. In other words, don't shoot the messenger and follow The Golden Rule.

"Why would you want to be unloving to your brothers and sisters like this."

That is an excellent question, My Friend.
