Spring Cleaning Your Energy Vibration
Spring is such a beautiful time, when the buds start to appear, the longed for sun returns and we can feel the hint that warm weather is returning. I say hint because after all I live in Ohio. For those who are on a different continent where Spring is not the coming season, please indulge this metaphor playfully or store it in your archives for when spring returns. Spring can be turbulent and teasing, giving us warm days of promise then returning to the cold nights of cuddling underneath warm quilts. We long to discard the quilts and sweaters and throw open the blinds to the shining sun, welcoming back warmth and hoping it will stay just a little longer each day.
For some of us, winter has been far too long and the darkness in our lives seems to return even when we draw the sun in with sympathetic magick of lights and mirrors. We may pronounce our intentions, declare our vibrational state and listen to advice of those who tell us how to shift our energy fields to the sunlight. Yet, that creepy darkness can return, bringing us down, settling our moods into canyons of boredom or depression. We may know according to the experts on attracting such sparkly things . we may know how, but may feel less inclined. A slump, a retreat or a place of hiding we can find ourselves in. Our mind may say think this or that, repeating commands brought to us by others, but our energy says otherwise. So how does one open the shutters of their energy vibration and raise that vibration to the fields of tulips that promise joy and abundance at every path we take?
Not by admonishing ourselves for not feeling positive, not by overwhelming ourselves with messages to feel positive – but by seeing the dust bunnies in our corners and like spring cleaning sweeping them away. We sweep them away not by denying them but by seeing them. I am feeling down because ____ fill in the blank and it is ok because each situation that brings our vibration to a lower point also brings with it the greater understanding to raise your vibration higher than before. There are those who don’t want to look at the dust bunnies thinking that they will go away by themselves. They only tend to grow bigger hiding in a corner until one day they can’t be ignored. Each time I sweep a dusty corner, wipe clean a countertop or shine a window I can see more clearly what the negative experiences have taught me in my own life. They have taught me that I am human, fallible, and so are others, they have taught me the importance of my choices, that sometimes I have to accept and be at peace with the not known, they have taught me the value of compassion and the presence of reality and the flux of change. Those dust bunnies have taught me to laugh at myself, at how I needed to put on my glasses to see what is really there and a reminder not to wear my sunglasses inside. That dust and dirt - well, some may call it shadow work, some may call it life lessons and others may simply call it life. It is embracing all that is, choosing that which we hold near and accepting that which we must accept and changing what we know we can, but also allowing the light of spirit to shine in on our lives bringing forth what we need through trust.
I recently bought several crystals to hang on my living room window. When the sun shines in the morning, rainbows of light fill my living room. To me it is a delight, sparkling rainbows glimmering throughout the room and even on the dust that settled into one corner. My questioning of how did that get there yields only flickering lights of laughter as if we can stop the dust from forming from ourselves or even others. But we can sweep it away as we sweep our energy vibration clean opening to the new light of a new day, every day. I can meditate upon my own awareness and acceptance and then choice, to understand the dark in order to better be in the light and to still choose the light, not by denying the dark but understanding that into every life some dust bunnies form.
So this Spring as I throw out the old, welcome in the new I will sweep my vibration, the vibration of my spiritual, emotional and physical being as well as clear the vibration of my home. I can do this through energy sweeps, salt baths, Reiki practices, awareness of self-defeating thoughts, plus action opening my home to the light and myself going for walks in the light of the sun, juicing and releasing toxins. So often we forget that we must do – we must put our thoughts into action to make them a manifestation of our reality.
I can also be simply grateful for what is being swept away to welcome what comes in. Just as no one else can come into my home and spring clean the way I would like it done no one else can really raise my energy vibration but me. Just as how I donate old clothes I also release what no longer serves my highest good. I open my senses to understand the vibration around me and from that intuitive understanding I make my choices not from the minds of others but from the innermost seed of my own soul. That seed will expand and grow into a rose, a rose of beauty that remains aware of its own thorns, yet chooses to grow in the light.
As I Spring clean I am spring cleaning my vibration, envisioning what is being swept away as being what is needed for me to release and making room for what I can allow that is new and exciting in my life. In this manner the normal drudgery of spring cleaning becomes something much more meaningful than ever before and in doing so my vibration shifts to the light that I embrace.
