Collaboration with artist and designer Helen White. The aim of the project is to create a 'solar wind chime': an installation incorporating physical chime which responds to readings of solar particle emissions provided in real-time by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The chimes resonate and animate to produce an audio/visual manifestation of solar wind fluctuations

12 x-OSC output PWM channels are tuned to resonate the aluminium tubes of the solar wind chime. Furthermore, DC signals can be used to stimulate the physical displacement of the tubes. The solar wind readings will be received via a Processing app which then sends OSC messages (via WiFi) to the x-OSC.

This video demonstrates a brief test of the circuitry and two aluminium tubes using a manual control Processing app written by Tom Mitchell.
