Guest: I feel a bit guilty about acquiring wealth when there are so many people who have so little, and then I feel bad about my situation when I look at those who have more.

Well, you need to change the way you look at things first. There are an infinite number of ways to frame the world that you see. So let’s talk about that framing business first. You see, your experience of your world and your life is entirely made up of your own perception of things. That is your experience. No perception; no experience. And it’s a bit like one of those gestalt drawings you see, where you see there is the picture of a vase, and then you look at it a little differently and you can see two faces looking at each other. Then you can adjust your eyes a bit and see the vase again.

So it is with the presence of poverty and wealth in your experience. You can look at those who have more and see yourself as lacking what they have, or you can look at those who have less and see yourself as having more. That’s the whole of it in your perception. If you don’t like what you are experiencing, the first thing you have to do is don’t experience it. Just flip the picture to the other view. If you are experiencing poverty, disease, lack of any kind, the first thing you have to do is flip your perception to the glass being half-full.

But really, your glass is always full. Your field of experience is completely filled, and the only thing that needs to alter is your perception. Everything is always already present—it is your perception that is stopping you from seeing it. Your perception limits your view of the world to just the vase or the face at any given moment. And you are the one who has control of that image you see.

This has nothing to do with Law of Attraction. You don’t have to attract wealth: It is already present in your field. You don’t have to attract health: It is already present. The first thing you have to alter is your experience of what already is and start singing its praises and expressing gratitude. Now, you are giving Law of Attraction something to respond to. LOA responds to your feeling, not your wishes.

So really we recommend that you don’t compare yourself to others one way or the other. That always seems to invite a kind of backlash. “I want what that man has…but I don’t have it”, and you’re in lack. Or “I have more than that one does, but I feel guilty about it”, and once again you are in lack. Instead look at what has already been given and work from there. Find things to appreciate in your world. To appreciate means to grow, and the more you grow the more you have. Does this answer your question?

G: I think so. Yeah.

Look to others only so long as it is inspiring to you, and get out of the comparison business. Taking score means you are no longer playing the game. You are there to flow energy into new creations, not to be the scorekeeper. Take score at the end when you are back here in the nonphysical with us. (laughter) We’ll all sit and eat popcorn and throw things at the screen together.

Namaste,
