On July 18th 1952 at about 6:16 in the evening Mr. Andre Fregnale, an engineer took a series of four photographs of an object traveling from west to east in the sky over Lake Chauvet which is located in the South central France. According to the witness the object appeared to be a metallic looking circular disc reflecting the sun's rays from the edge. It also appeared to be lighter on the top and darker underneath. It was completely silent and when first seen was moving slowly at an altitude of about 1000 meters or 3,280 feet.
