Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): Activity has remained generally elevated and seems to have increased yesterday. Current seismic recordings show strong explosion signals and an increase in tremor. A small lava overflow is currently visible from the NE crater.

Shiveluch (Kamchatka): Lava dome growth continues. This morning, an explosion and/or a partial collapse produced a volcanic ash cloud rising to 15,000 ft (4.7 km) altitude this morning by VAAC Tokyo.
KVERT reports no changes in activity for the other 5 currently active volcanoes in Kamchatka (continuing lava effusion at Tolbachik, dome growth at Kizimen and Bezymianny, intermittent mild explosions at Karymsky, strong degassing at Gorely).

Pavlov (Alaska Peninsula, USA): Eruptive activity on 13 May at Pavlof has been confirmed. Pilot images have shown a new spatter fed lava flow extending 500 m down the N flank of the volcano.

Small steam and ash eruptions were noted from Cold Bay.

Popocatépetl (Central Mexico): Activity remains elevated as new magma continues to rise to the summit at increased rate. The volcano produces intense steaming and occasional explosions that generate steam and ash plumes up to 3 km height and throw incandescent blocks to distances of 700 m. Phases of moderate continuous tremor and several volcano-tectonic earthquakes up to magnitudes 2 accompany this process. Authorities are starting preparations for evacuations should it further increase.
CENAPRED made an aerial survey flight yesterday morning and observed that the lava dome has grown significantly and is now 350 m in diameter and 50 m thick.
