South Plunge

Thanks to a powerful plunge of Arctic air, several locations are seeing major changes in their weather since Thanksgiving Day. First, consider Arkansas' capital. Highs Wednesday may top out near 70 degrees. Then comes the Arctic plunge, including a threat of freezing rain or sleet Thursday into Friday, followed by lows Saturday morning near 20 degrees. To recap, a 50-degree plunge – from warmth more typical of late October to a potential icy threat.

Wintry change to chill SA, TAS, VIC and NSW

Silver's picture

Weatherzone, By: Brett Dutschke, 12/04/2013

An abrupt wind change is helping to cool much of southeastern Australia by 10-to-15 degrees, nearly 20 degrees in some places. Inland areas are experiencing the biggest change, heating up to the low-to-mid forties one day and mid-to-high twenties the next as hot northerlies turn colder southerly. Yesterday Coober Pedy reached 45 degrees, 11 degrees above average, and is only likely to get to 27 degrees today, seven below average, an 18-degree drop in 24 hours. Mildura which nudged 40 degrees yesterday should only reach 23 today, a 17-degree drop. For coastal areas the change is not quite as sharp due to sea breezes keeping heat away ahead of the colder change. Adelaide got to 29 degrees yesterday and about 20 today, although showers will make the afternoon a few degrees colder. A similar scenario is unfolding in Melbourne, where it only reached 25 degrees yesterday and 21 degrees today before rain and colder winds kicked in, dropping the temperature to about 15 degrees before lunchtime.

cancer assault 263x164 Assaulting Cancer: 5 Natural Ways to Boost Natural Killer CellsNatural killer cells are white blood cells (lymphocytes) that seek out and kill cancerous or otherwise mutating cells that can harm the body. Also known as NK cells or just K cells, these natural killer cells are a natural part of our immune systems. Considering that 1/3 of the population is expected to get cancer in their lifetime, it would behoove us to boost our body’s natural ability to reduce cancerous tumors and virally infected cells. Below you will learn how to boost natural killer cells naturally.

There has been some discussion lately regarding Russell Brand’s interview with Jeremy Paxman. There was nothing new in what Russell was saying.  The points of view he put forth regarding political corruption, corporate interests, materialism and the potential devastation of Planet Earth have all been cited before.  People’s discontent with the various institutions in this world has been going on for centuries.

Good morning to you. If it's ok let's get into it straight away, as there are a few things I'd like to clarify if I may? Yet first, let's not forget manners ... are you well?

We indeed FEEL of the finest energies throughout our existence. We are aware that one thing you would like to clarify is the 'buzzing within your head', this is correct is it not?

Indeed. It's like I've had five strong coffee's and yet I don't drink coffee. I try to meditate to calm it down yet that seems to almost exaggerate the FEELING

Do you find the FEELING unpleasant?

It is not painful ... yet difficult to settle down. Am I correct in thinking I am being downloaded BIG TIME.

It is a question of priorities as to which order we explain what is happening. You are correct in saying that you are being downloaded ... yet also there are actual changes taking place with inside your brain. There are parts of your brains that have long lain dormant, that are now being activated in order for new beginnings to take place. These changes are heightening your senses and although a little uncomfortable at the time of 'opening' ... they shall surely serve you well.

May I ask exactly what they will reveal?

A Hit of the Day from Judith

Wow, does this New Sagittarius Moon energy ever feel NEW!  When I felt into it, I immediately received such an enthusiastic “hit” about  it that I  decided to drop everything to share it with you. I’ll do so briefly, because this energy has me all fired up about my own endeavors today, but that’ll give you an opportunity to fill in the brevity with your own personal meanings in a way that’s most relevant for you.  See, already, there’s an example of  how positive and optomistic this energy is! It brings a very ”glass is half full” perspective to our vision, enabling us to see the opportunities within the mixed- bag of some very different ways we could also choose to experience whatever comes our way.

With the sun’s move out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius as well, there’s a lightness to the energy that is palpable after  Pluto’s ruthless scouring of the depths (or “shadow side”) within us.  Of course, that was invaluable, for it brought up all the yucky stuff that needed to be seen and cleared out of us, but it sure wasn’t that much fun.  Now, however, we get to reap the benefits. Jupiter’s expansive energy  allows us to expand our own vision, seeing the big picture in a grander way than ever before. Rather than feeling “stuck” behind the few decaying trees that blocked our vision–and are nicely cleared away now, thanks to Pluto’s relentless badgering!–we can see the potential of our terrain. We see it as reflections of the potential we carry within us, mind you, which is a wonderful energy for planting new intentions. Jupiter’s optimism has a lucky feel to it, so use it to plant them with excited belief in all the possibilities that will grow from them!

In "Evangelii Gaudium" (The Joy of the Gospel), officially known as an "apostolic exhortation," Francis calls for church reforms, urges Catholics to be more bold and joyful, and castigates elements of modern capitalism.

"I prefer a Church which is bruised, hurting and dirty because it has been out on the streets," the Pope said, "rather than a Church which is unhealthy from being confined and from clinging to its own security."

To predict and prevent the collapse of streets in Rome, geoscientists mapped high-risk areas of the quarry system

Deep under the streets and buildings of Rome is a maze of tunnels and quarries that dates back to the very beginning of this ancient city. Now, geologists are venturing beneath Rome to map these underground passageways, hoping to prevent modern structures from crumbling into the voids below.

In 2011, there were 44 incidents of streets or portions of structures collapsing into the quarries, a number that rose to 77 in 2012 and 83 to date in 2013. To predict and prevent such collapses, George Mason University geoscientists Giuseppina Kysar Mattietti and scientists from the Center for Speleoarchaeological Research (Sotterranei di Roma) are mapping high-risk areas of the quarry system.

LONDON — Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger on Tuesday vigorously defended his decision to publish a series of articles based on the secret files leaked by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, telling a parliamentary committee that the right to continue pursuing the story goes to the heart of press freedoms and democracy in Britain.

Rusbridger also told lawmakers that the Guardian had published only 1 percent of the 58,000 files it had received from Snowden.
