Philippine Typhoon Update: Death Toll Rises Above 5,000

MANILA, Philippines — One week after Super Typhoon Haiyan swept through the central Philippines, officials now say the death toll has risen above 5,000 and is likely to climb further. Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said Friday that 4,919 people were killed in the Eastern Visayas region. Civil defense chief Eduardo del Rosario said 290 others died in other parts of the central and southern Philippines. The regions were battered two weeks ago by fierce winds and tsunami-like storm surges from Typhoon Haiyan, locally called Yolanda. Roxas said the situation was stabilizing, with major roads on Samar and Leyte islands cleared of debris, and some banks, stores and gasoline stations resuming business.

The best distinction I can think of that describes LOVE vs ego is the Silence the first one brings and the noise the second one creates.

LOVE is Silent! And so is anything done out of LOVE, or with LOVE, or In LOVE. For LOVE does not need explanations, it needs no one to validate it or believe in it and is not done out of expectations as LOVE IS. It needs no one to congratulate or to write about it, nor does it talk about itself. It IS. And that for LOVE is ALL that counts. To BE. And let all that is LOVE BE!

It prays for you and you will never know it. And you will pray for others and never tell them. It knows it IS the substance of all that IS and needs nothing more than itSELF. It already communicates with all of CREATION. That is why it needs no validation. And no explanation. It IS ONE with GOD.

If someone takes hours of his or her time trying to explain how good he or she is, if someone needs you to validate his or her state of being, living, talking or behaving… LOVE them silently and ask GOD to help them see their own way. They are traveling their path. And that is the way it is.

Communities in WA's far north are preparing for a possible cyclone

Communities in Western Australia's far north are preparing for a possible cyclone, as a tropical low develops this weekend. The Bureau of Meteorology said the low was about 450km north-west of Broome heading east-southeast at 19km/hr. The low may develop into a tropical cyclone early tomorrow and is likely to brush the northern Kimberley coast late on Saturday into Sunday morning. Emergency service crews are on standby and people living between Kalumburu and the Northern Territory border are being urged to prepare their homes.

Tropical Cyclone Helen Makes Landfall in India

Tropical Cyclone Helen, accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain, has made landfall across the east-central coastline of India.

The strength of Tropical Cyclone Helen was equal to that of a tropical storm in the Atlantic Basin as it came onshore. Helen made landfall near Machilipatnam, across the Andhra Pradesh state.

Wind gusts of 95 to 130 kph (60 to 80 mph) were expected to occur in the vicinity of where Helen came onshore. Such winds are capable of causing widespread tree damage and power outages. Falling trees threaten to cause additional damage and bodily harm.

Feds raid Denver-area marijuana dispensaries and grow operations

Seven weeks before the nation's first retail marijuana shops open in Colorado, federal authorities Thursday morning raided more than a dozen Denver metro area marijuana facilities. In the largest federal raid on Colorado marijuana facilities since medical marijuana became legal, federal law enforcement agents with an assist from local police officers executed search and seizure warrants at multiple dispensaries and cultivation facilities throughout the region — at least a dozen in Denver alone. At one raid in Boulder, a pile of seized marijuana lay in the snow like Christmas trees until a front-end loader scooped it up. At one of the largest dispensaries in the state — VIP Cannabis in Denver — broken glass from a shattered front window littered the parking lot while masked agents hauled boxes of evidence into a U-Haul truck. Police turned customers away. And the dispensary's website said it would be closed on Thursday and Friday.
