If you've been following recent solar activities, and find yourself being affected emotionally, physically and energetically by whatever the sun is doing, you're likely on the edge of your seat waiting to hear that the Sun's magnetic field has finally flipped. 


According to scientists this will happen any day now, but it isn't something that they will be able to confirm on the day - it may take a few weeks to officially confirm it. Andrés Muñoz-Jaramillo, a researcher at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics who studies the Sun’s magnetic cycle explains by saying: “The strength of the polar field gradually gets very close to zero,” he says. “Some days, it’s slightly positive, and other days, it’s slightly negative. Then, eventually, you see that it’s consistently in one direction day after day, and you know the reversal has occurred.”

And when we say conquer, it is not in the old meaning of the word, for this is not about achieving an elevated status at the cost of others. No, this is simply about reconquering yourselves and your own inherent power, a power that has been taken away from you for such a long time. Again, we know that many will resent this message and call it redundant or at least repetitive, but remember, our task is to help you to fulfill yours, and so, we act in many ways as you supporters and cheerleaders, the bystanders that will egg you on to do all that you can to surpass yourselves.

Last week, I had a few interactions that reminded me how much our attachment to our beliefs can keep us from truth, growth, and freedom. I was surprised at how often we choose comfort over truth, even when it means restriction and repression. And how terrifying it can be to seek truth at all costs.

 

The path to truth isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it’s frightening, painful, and unsettling. Likewise, a life of comfort is often riddled with self-deceit, stagnation, and limitations.

WASHINGTON, Ill. -- As a powerful tornado bore down on their Illinois farmhouse, Curt Zehr's wife and adult son didn't have time to do anything but scramble down the stairs into their basement.

Uninjured, the pair looked out moments later to find the house gone and the sun out and "right on top" of them, Zehr said. The home on the outskirts of Washington, Ill., was swept up and scattered over hundreds of yards by one of the dozens of tornadoes and intense thunderstorms that swept across the Midwest on Sunday, leaving at least six people dead and unleashing powerful winds that flattened entire neighborhoods, flipped over cars and uprooted trees.

"They saw (the tornado) right there and got in the basement," said a stunned Zehr, pointing to the farm field near the rubble that had been his home.

Record November rain drenches the Hunter

Very heavy rain drenched the Hunter region overnight, with several places seeing their heaviest November rain on record. A small but moisture-packed east coast low approached the region overnight, bringing gusty winds and heavy, unprecedented November rain. Clarence Town copped one of the heaviest falls of the region, recording 200mm in the 24 hours to 9am today, its heaviest rain for any month since 1946 and for November on record. Nearby Dungog collected 167mm, its heaviest fall since 2009 and for November on record, while Maitland received 120mm, also its heaviest in four years. Tocal saw its heaviest November rain on record and the most for any month since 2007, being drowned with a 24 hour total of 173mm. The town is now also experiencing its wettest November on record, with already more than 200mm for the month, two and a half times the monthly average.

Armidale benefit for Typhoon Haiyan victims

A benefit concert in support of families affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Central Philippines will be held in Armidale on Friday, December 6. The concert will be held at the Armidale Town Hall. Julio Madera, who's helping to organise the event, says the Armidale community will dig deep for those still struggling to get through the natural disaster. Mr Madera says members of his family were impacted by the violent storm but he's been able to get in touch with them and has confirmation they're safe. He says many local artists, musicians and performers have already come forward to offer their time to help the victims. "The concert will comprise of a variety of acts, including Filipino dancing and singing, Filipino bands, as well as classical music, Rock 'n' Roll, bush poets, and Aboriginal dancing," he said.
