Study Finds Hot Cocoa to Stave Off Alzheimer’s, Keep the Brain Healthy

Eddie1177's picture

It’s getting cold outside and a hot cup of cocoa goes great with a warm fire. But could that winter comfort drink be a solution to one of the biggest problems plaguing today’s elderly? A recent study published in Neurology suggest having two cups of hot cocoa each day could help prevent the cognitive decline associated with aging and Alzheimer’s disease.

Researchers from Harvard Medical School say hot cocoa works by increasing blood flow to the brain, particularly areas of the brain associated with memory and cognition. They believe it works by increasing something called neurovascular coupling, where blood flow actually changes in response to local brain activity.

Global revolutions. Government shutdowns. FEMA Camps. Banking Collapse. Chemtrails.  GMO's.  Amongst everything that is going on in this world, where are you placing your thoughts?

The power of your mind has been co-opted by every government who relies on your subservience and conformity.  We have been trained to think that the world is corrupt and that there is no bright light at the end of the tunnel but what we are not being told is how humanity is coming together to create a world full of ET Intervention - Are The Distractions Distracting You? | In5D.comabundance and prosperity for all.

For example, World Bank Whistleblower Karen Hudes announced that a new form of asset-backed currency is being developed to replace the US Dollar, but do you think the mainstream media will ever report this to us?

Full Moon: illumination, realization, shadows

Moon: Taurus

I failed to record which Oracle Report wise owl took this photo of lightning bugs, my apologies to the photographer.  It is a beautiful image that symbolizes the voluminous amount of Gaia-Sophia's attention that is directed at us.  But it is not only her attention that is directed, it is also her protection and guidance.  It comes up all around us.

We connect with her through our inner wisdom and our immersion in the natural world.  It is not hard to find beautiful things to look at during the Libra lunar cycle, no matter where you live and what season it is.  Connect in through nature.

This time, it's a saber-toothed whale, better known to live in deep Alaskan waters than in the warm surf of tourist-choked Venice Beach in Los Angeles where it stranded Wednesday.

Just three days earlier, another rarely observed species -- a sea-serpent-like animal called an oarfish -- was discovered dead at Catalina Island off the Los Angeles coast.

NYtimes, By: James Risen, 10/17/2013

WASHINGTON — Edward J. Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor, said in an extensive interview this month that he did not take any secret N.S.A. documents with him to Russia when he fled there in June, assuring that Russian intelligence officials could not get access to them. Mr. Snowden said he gave all of the classified documents he had obtained to journalists he met in Hong Kong, before flying to Moscow, and did not keep any copies for himself. He did not take the files to Russia “because it wouldn’t serve the public interest,” he said.

Why A Swiss Proposal To Give Every Citizen $2,800 Each Month Is So Radical

Silver's picture

By: Adam Taylor, 10/17/2013

Switzerland has a very direct style of democracy. For example, changes to the constitution, or "popular initiatives," can be proposed by members of the public and are voted on if more than 100,000 people sign them. If a majority of voters and cantons (Swiss states) agree, the change can become law. This system not only allows individual citizens a high degree of control of their laws, but also means that more unorthodox ideas become referendum issues.

Recently, there has been a spate of popular initiatives designed to curb inequality in the country. Earlier this year Swiss voters agreed to an idea proposed by entrepreneur Thomas Minder that limited executive (in his words, "fat cat") salaries of companies listed on the Swiss stock market. Next month voters will decide on the 1:12 Initiative, which aims to limit the salaries of CEOs to 12 times the salary of their company's lowest paid employee.

Heavenletter #4712 ~ Claim the Peace of God

Silver's picture

By: Heavenletters.org, 10/19/2013

God said:

Wherever you are, whomever you are with, no matter what is going on, will you come from a place of peace deep within you? This place exists, beloveds, and it exists within you. Gravitate to this place. It is yours. It belongs to you. I gave it to you. It is yours forevermore.

This special place is for you at every moment. It waits for you. It is always here within you. This place doesn’t move. You simply have to settle down to it. You have to claim it. It is like you have an especially reserved seat at a wedding dinner. The seat waits for you. It is absolutely reserved for you and no one else. You have to find it. Once you find it, you sit in it. Open yourself to peace.

Here you are settled deep into the peace of God. Whatever noise is going on, whatever disturbance there may be in the world, you are out of reach in your seat of peace. Be here. Be here always where you are Mine and you claim the Peace of God.

Romania Environmental Protests a Sign of Wider Discontent

Rain's picture

WPR (World Politics Review) - 10/18/13, Andrew MacDowall

http://s1.reutersmedia.net/resources/r/?m=02&d=20130901&t=2&i=782252571&w=&fh=&fw=&ll=460&pl=300&r=CBRE9801KB800

They are the biggest demonstrations Romania has seen this century. Across the country and beyond, tens of thousands have taken to the streets in protests that have included a human chain around Bucharest’s massive parliament, one of the world’s largest buildings, and a rally of several hundred Romanians in London’s Trafalgar Square.

If the demonstrations have gained momentum in part due to economic hardship and especially disillusionment with the political elite, they were initially triggered by a highly controversial mining project and the ecological and cultural damage that it might cause. Though environmental issues have for a long time been seen as marginal in Southeastern European politics, it would not be the first time that environmental protests have snowballed into anti-establishment movements in the region.
