How Steve Jobs Turned Technology — And Apple — Into Religion

Rain's picture

Red Ice Creations - 9/03/13, by Red Ice Creations

A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on.

~John F. Kennedy

Steve Jobs being dead hasn’t diminished the power of his name, or the Apple brand. In fact, it has only reinforced the ’spirituality’ of the company he left behind - the company, many can demonstrate, has been deliberately honed into a cult-like religious orthodoxy.

Brett T. Robinson, author of Appletopia: Media Technology and the Religious Imagination of Steve Jobs describes in several articles how Jobs crafted a business model that makes products and a brand a ’gateway to enlightenment’, how brick-and-mortar storefronts act as cathedrals, and how Jobs transformed modern western culture to have faith that "technology always means human progress".

Following, Red Ice TV goes into the occult origins of the Apple logo in Symbolism In Logos, and how it is used to reinforce ideas of religiosity in consumer products.

Walmart workers and supporters plan to mount protests in fifteen cities Thursday, a mobilization that the union-backed group OUR Walmart expects will be its largest since last November’s Black Friday strike. This week’s rallies follow an August 22 civil disobedience action at which the campaign announced a Labor Day deadline for Walmart to raise its wages to at least $25,000 per year, and reverse the terminations of twenty workers who participated in a June strike.

Michigan Tar Sands Pipeline Protester Could Get Two Years in Jail

One oil spill in his community was more than enough for Kalamazoo resident Christopher Wahmhoff. To protest Enbridge’s replacement of the pipeline that burst along a Michigan riverbank in 2010, Wahmhoff spent 10 hours of his 35th birthday inside the new pipe, slowing construction for a single day in June.

Now Wahmhoff, a member of the Michigan Coalition Against Tar Sands [aka MI-CATS], has been charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor, charges that could see him put behind bars for more than two years. “It was worth it, without a doubt,” he told the Battle Creek Enquirer on Tuesday following a preliminary hearing before a district judge. “We got awareness out.”

Heavenletter #4667 ~ The Holy Land

God said:

This is a time of great glad rejoicing, for this is the day of your debut into the world of light and light-heartedness. That which was once so serious is not so serious any longer. The whole extant world is not so serious as it once seemed, for you are now balancing your conscious time in terms of the two worlds, less to the world at large and more to the world often referred to as beyond the veil.

This other world, the world of Heaven, has gained equal time with the world. Both are beautiful. Both are heavenly, yet the one, the world of the concrete, comes with a price tag and payment of one kind or another while the Heaven world comes with no price, no tax, no penalty and requires no admission price.

How to Let Go of the Past and Free Yourself to Experience Your Full Potential

Doreen Smith's picture

by admin  Sep 3, 2013

HJ: Your point of power is in the present moment.  When you use the 'past' as your reference, you are potentially limiting yourself to your past failures, mistakes and limits.  This can go both ways.  You can also use the past as a way to bolster your confidence if you have been successful, or rather, if your perception of yourself is positive.  However, in the majority of cases, we use our past not as a way to bolster ourselves in the present but as a source of self-doubt and anxiety.  However, this is essentially a fallacy because you can be whatever you set your mind to regardless of what happened to you in the past and using past failures to measure your present potential is inherently self limiting.  When we view it rationally, it is obvious and makes perfect sense, but yet we tend not to react rationally to our past -- rather, we react habitually.

The article below is intended to help you discover these habits and tendencies and understand why they do not necessarily serve your highest good, so you can change them if you so desire.  There are many powerful concepts in this article that can help you better understand yourself and the world around you.
