Watch for the great Mars and Jupiter pairing on the mornings of Sunday, July 21 and Monday, July 22..

Look eastward before or at morning dawn on Sunday, July 21, and Monday, July 22, for the close coupling of the planets Mars and Jupiter. From most places around the world, Mars and Jupiter will be less than one degree apart on these two days. That’s about the width of your little finger at an arm length. Of course, Mars and Jupiter are not actually close together in space. They just happen to reside near the same line of sight. Mars lies about 2.4 astronomical units away from Earth whereas Jupiter lodges about 6 astronomical units away. One astronomical unit = the sun/Earth distance = 149,597,871 kilometers = 92,955,807 miles.

It’s a large waxing gibbous moon that lights up the evening sky on the night of July 19. The moon is moving toward full phase, to usher in the year’s third and final “super” full moon – another supermoon – on July 22, 2013.

The July 2013 full moon will be the second full moon after the June solstice. There are usually three full moons in between a solstice and an equinox, or vice versa. Seven times in 19 years, however, four full moons fall in a single season. In that case, the third of a season’s four full moons is sometimes called a Blue Moon. The next Blue Moon by this definition will happen next month, on August 21, 2013

Astronomer Discovers New Comet With Short-end Telescope In Ukraine

During a star party on the night of July 8th, Astronomer Gennady Borisov discovered a new comet near Capella, the brightest star in the constellation Auriga.

The comet was confirmed on July 13, bearing the final name C/2013 N4 (Borisov).  The telescope used was an 8-inch telescope with a CCD camera.  Comets are extremely hard to discover now-a-days due to projects like LINEAR and PANSTARRS.  These projects are robotic, automated systems that scan the sky and take photos.  When an object is shown to move in these scans, astronomers are then alerted to look it over and see if it is a new discovery.

According to NOAA scientists, the globally averaged temperature for June 2013 tied with 2006 as the fifth warmest June since record keeping began in 1880. It also marked the 37th consecutive June and 340th consecutive month (more than 28 years) with a global temperature above the 20th century average. The last below-average June temperature was June 1976 and the last below-average temperature for any month was February 1985.

Many areas of the world experienced higher-than-average monthly temperatures, including north-central Canada, most of Alaska and the western United States, much of northern and eastern Europe, western Russia, part of northern Siberia, and north-central Australia. Seismic swarm near another Alaskan Volcano

A seismic swarm with magnitudes up to 3.5 has been occurring in the Wrangell Arc about 40 km NE of Mt. Churchill volcano during the past few days. The intensity and frequency of the quakes has calmed down yesterday. While some few of the quakes are near the volcano, most are not, and the swarm is probably not linked to the volcanic system of Mt Churchill volcano. Churchill is the fourth tallest volcano in the U.S. and has erupted in more than 1,300 years.  -VD

All written and spoken languages have major issues that people don't notice most of the time. There's huge gaps in communication, though people are so used to this dysfunction it usually goes unnoticed. Word don't quite mean the same thing to different people and even words that mean the same thing have different connotations. When people speak to each other their facial expression and tone assist greatly in communication, but even this can be misinterpreted. We have even less freedom of expression within the written language and the reader is able to project all sorts of their own stuff onto the writing.

Our language was written for people to communicate from within illusion. This makes communication about Reality difficult, to say the least. Both parties need to have the same understandings or there's going to be confusion. For instance, the word Love. When I say Love, I mean the Energy that makes up Reality. Makes sense to me, but it's not going to mean much to someone who still hasn't glimpsed beyond illusion.

Eventually a person has a moment of clarity. In this moment, they see the inherent emptiness of all the things they thought were so important. This causes a person to reevaluate their whole existence and look for a deeper meaning in Life.

This is the beginning of spiritual Awakening, when a person realizes the life they've been assigned by society isn't who they really are and decides to recreate himself to reflect his expanded understandings. At this point there's an enormous pitfall that most do not notice which causes spiritual growth to halt almost as fast as it began. This is spiritual ego, when a person recreates herself but then gets attached to their new "spiritual" identity.

Identity is a part of the ego. You are you, no identity required. You are a unique facet of the Whole. You were this before you were born, you are this after you "die". Your identity is only who you believe you are. You didn't give yourself your identity, society did that for you. People have identities because they don't understand who they are, if they did they wouldn't have need of a mental construct to tell them who they are. As long as one clings to their identity one is still within ego, no matter how "spiritual" it is.
