Long-Lost Pyramids Confirmed in Egypt, Could this Finding Dwarf the Pyramids of Giza?

The pyramid-like structures were first spotted last year by Angela Micol, who noticed the huge mounds against a flat desert plain on Google Earth. However, despite gaining widespread media attention at the time, her claims were highly criticised and she was met with huge resistance from so-called experts who refused to accept that such an incredible discovery could be made by a layperson sitting at a computer in Northern California. 

“They would be the greatest pyramids known to mankind,” said Medhat Kamal El-Kady, former ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, and his wife Haidy Farouk Abdel-Hamid, a lawyer, former counselor at the Egyptian presidency. “We would not exaggerate if we said the finding can overshadow the Pyramids of Giza.”

Millions of shrimp-like critters die and wash ashore in northern California

Millions of shrimp-like critters called krill have died and washed ashore in northern California, US, last month. Though this krill loss is not expected to impact marine life local communities are asked to watch and report if they notice new stranding.

Scientists are still researching what exactly caused this massive die-off but it is known that it is geographically largest krill die-off on record.

Shallow earthquake magnitude 6.0 struck near Sabancaya volcano, southern Peru

At least 3 people have been injured and 20 houses collapsed in a shallow M 6.0 earthquake that struck southern Peru on July 17, 2013. Earthquake happened at 02:37 UTC (21:37 local time). More damage and injury reports are expected by morning.

 

USGS measured depth 6.6 km, EMSC at 10 km. Epicenter was located 18km (11mi) W of Chivay (pop. 4543) and 88km (55mi) NNW of Arequipa (841 130), Peru at coordinates 15.635°S 71.773°W. There are 1 080 000 people living within 100 km radius. Epicenter was also 17 km NW from the summit of Peru's most active volcano, Sabancaya.

Delta Aquarid meteor shower peaks late July 2013

The Delta Aquarid meteor shower begins annually roughly from July 12 and is active up to August 23. The shower can be seen all over the planet, however it is best observed from the Southern Hemisphere and southern latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere.

The debris from the comet 96P/Machholz, which orbits the Sun every five years, is suspected to be the cause of the Delta Aquarids. Comet 96P/Machholz was found in 1986 by Donald Machholz and its nucleus is 6.4 km wide.

NASA announced the discovery of Neptune's 14th moon Monday. The Hubble Space Telescope captured the moon as a white dot in photos of Neptune on the outskirts of our solar system.

The new moon - Neptune's tiniest at just 12 miles across - is designated S/2004 N 1.

On the night of February 24, 1942, an incident that has come to be called "The Battle of Los Angeles" erupted in the California sky. It happened less than three months after the U.S. had entered WW2.

 

An unidentified flying object was spotted, air raid sirens sounded, and a blackout was ordered. By the end of the "battle," over 1400 anti-aircraft shells (12.8 pounds each) had been fired at the object but the 37th Coast Artillery Brigade could not bring it down.

 

Several buildings were damaged by friendly fire, three civilians were killed by the anti-aircraft fire, and another three died of heart attacks attributed to the stress of the hour-long bombardment.

Many people by now are well aware that 1947 was a pivotal year in the history of mankind in as much as proof of extraterrestrial contact was made. As a result of that contact an inflexion in human events occurred as an entire security state emerged with the government being forced to conceal and mitigate a forbidden truth that could have caused conventional institutions in our society to collapse. The preservation of basic human beliefs was at stake as far as authorities were concerned.

Yet, few people are aware that there was a growing presence of aerial sightings being reported prior to the Roswell incident in 1947 or the Kenneth Arnold sighting in Washington State. The number of sightings that were attracting public attention were growing to a fever pitch, and the Roswell incident became the culmination of a growing hysteria among people who sensed that something earth shattering was afoot and about to blow open any time.
