Glenn Greenwald Teases More NSA Info: ‘Majority’ Of ‘Significant’ Revelations ‘Have Yet To Be Made’

Glenn Greenwald has been the subject of both praise and criticism since the NSA surveillance story took center stage in the news cycle. And he’s not done yet. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Greenwald teased future revelations, saying the most significant ones are still to come. “The majority of revelations that are significant have yet to be made,” Greenwald told the paper.

 

Asked to elaborate, Greenwald told POLITICO he could not provide any details before the reporting was ready. As for leaker Edward Snowden, who has been the one behind the information, Greenwald said he last spoke to him when Snowden was in Hong Kong — but he is working on stories based on documents leaked by Snowden.

Turkey's battle with the Internet took a new twist on Wednesday. A Turkish government minister said Twitter has refused to cooperate with the government, but that Facebook had responded "positively" and was "in cooperation with the state."

 

Turkish Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yilderim, quoted in Turkish media, did not elaborate on what this cooperation entails. But Turkish officials have complained that social media outlets aren't sharing user access information with prosecutors and law enforcement agencies. The story took an additional turn later in the day, when Facebook issued a statement denying that it was cooperating with the government.

Krakatau volcano (Sunda Strait, Indonesia) activity update
The group of our current trekking tour on Java climbed the summit of Anak Krakatau on 24 June. Climbing there was very difficult, because of many hot fumarolic spots and strong degassing. The summit of Anak Krakatau is now higher than before the Sep 2012 eruption. One active vent was remaining in the west part.
