HJ: Now more than ever, there is a crisis of happiness, which is ironic, because we now have the ‘key ingredients’ of happiness readily at our fingertips in the plethora of books and media available to us dealing with the subject and offering sound, time-tested advice.  Why is it then that we still seem to find happiness elusive?  A large part of it is that we are never really taught what happiness is or how to achieve and maintain it.  Unless we are compelled to seek this information out of our own volition, it largely remains elusive.  We are not taught in school, religious institutions, universities or any other major institutions what it means to be happy and how to maintain it.  Furthermore, we are told things like “Life is hard”,  ”Life is work”, “No Pain, No Gain” and other euphemisms that reinforce that suffering is somehow noble or necessary.  These create a perception that happiness may be elusive and we become conditioned to accept this as a fact of life.  Then when we find happiness elusive, we accept this is as the natural order of things, when, in fact, nothing could be further from the truth.

(NaturalNews) It used to be called alternative medicine, but herbal and homeopathic remedies have gone mainstream as new research by Mintel indicates approximately a third of Americans are swapping OTC medicines for natural products to overcome common ailments. Wider availability and a more holistic, proactive approach to personal healthcare are key reasons behind the trend which saw retail sales reach an all time high of $6.4 billion in 2012, up almost 3 percent in 2011, a growth of 16 percent over the past five years.

With Americans increasingly likely to suffer from more than one chronic health problem, greater numbers are taking matters into their own hands and doing their own research. Mintel health analyst Emily Krol says: The sector is primed for continued success as US consumers increasingly seek products that are natural and organic, particularly as it relates to healthcare. This is especially true for families with small children as many OTC medications are unsafe for children under the age of two.

The fact that so many users of homeopathic remedies are confident about them relieving their symptoms suggests that once people have used these products and experienced the effectiveness, they may be more inclined to use them in the future.

I would offer another compendium of the fallout from the Greenwald/Snowden revelations, except that the number has expanded so furiously that there is no way I can keep up! (I mean there is never a “way to keep up,” of course, but sometimes I really grok that fact.)

It strikes me that this explosive infusion of data and perspective about universal data-mining is the perfect depiction of the current placement of Jupiter, planet of expansion, in Gemini, sign of information and communication.  Then, when you focus this current transit of Jupiter into the U.S. chart, and view both in the light of Edward Snowden, his chart, well, shall we say, sparks fly?

Often in the linear a feeling of unrest can arise where one feels they are walking a narrow tight rope.

It takes an incredible amount of focus in the physical to walk a tight rope. The body must know its core center to maintain the balance to get from one safe platform to another.

Likewise, spiritual balance requires focus and determination to move from one experience to another. Having a relationship with your core inner self also adds to the success of the endeavor.

As in the physical, it’s important to keep your head up with eyes focused upon the goal. Use imagery to widen the internal tight rope so that the process becomes easier and more secure.

Your physical participation was not designed to be a constant easy endeavor. Most are more aware of their capabilities when designing a life plan. It is when one is immersed in the dense physical that confidence wanes and the fear of failure comes in.

Usually it is our greatest challenges and darkest of nights that are the tools that assist us in moving beyond what we have been holding onto within. However this metamorphosis/transformation is not always an easy one. Our ego normally does not like change or releasing it's attachments and patterns. Zen Buddhists refer to fear, anger, guilt and the creations/patterns of the ego as suffering. It is this suffering that separates us from our eternal light knowingness of our IAM Presence and energy of our God Self Monad. Our ego mind creates this suffering because this is all it knows. The ego does not have the capability to understand or know what Oneness and love with-out conditions truly is. This is the reason why the ego creates and depends on it's belief system to explain what it thinks is real. What the ego sees and experiences is tied into is the illusion of the 3D False Energy Matrix. The ego is not bad and neither is experiencing anger and fear, they are just experiences. The key is "IF" we wish to move beyond the False Energy Matrix and the illusions of the ego mind. We have to start identifying when the ego speaks and how it reacts to situations and then choosing to react in a different way. The more we choose to react in a different way, we condition the ego mind to experience life in new ways. The more then we will be open to allowing our eternal voice and energy of our God Self to flow.

Conservative talker and professional conspiracy theorist Glenn Beck announced Monday that he has temporarily lost his voice. On his web-only The Blaze TV broadcast Monday, he delivered the news over dramatic string music with the help of handwritten flash cards.

“Doctors told me Friday,” he said by way of the flash cards. “My vocal chords [sic] are paralyzed.”

The condition, he said, is temporary and reversible, but the loss of his voice has apparently got Beck thinking about his role in society. In his silent monologue, he expanded upon his remarks from the Talkers Magazine convention on Thursday, in which he apologized for being so “divisive” and only wishes he could go back and state his truth in a less plangent way that wouldn’t have set people “at each other’s throats.”

Losing his voice, said Beck, “got me thinking. What’s left for me to say? If today was the last day you had a voice, what would you say? ‘I love you?’ ‘I miss you?’”

Shocked and soberedI’ve had a life-altering experience in the past twelve hours that I don’t know how to describe.

It has components to it which, while passing through the experience, felt like coming unglued, dissolving some important part of my persona, being seethed, (1) encountering kryptonite, being lashed to the mast or walking through the valley of the shadow of death.

Those are the only words I’ve been able to find that describe it, match the experience, or connect with it in some important way.

It’s happened twice before and I’ve called it a “stress attack.” I’m not aware of how to describe the subtle feeling that comes over me but it feels to me as if I’m falling apart and I haven’t in the past been able to navigate through it without being “talked down,” so to speak. But this time I got through it on my own, even though it felt like I would not survive.

I cannot describe the feelings. They are flavorless and colorless. I cannot describe what happens, save to say that I feel like I’m falling apart, coming unstuck.

The South China Morning Post has published a full story from its interview with Edward Snowden (it's unclear whether there's more to come from the Post).

Snowden tells journalist Lana Lam that it is his intention to have his case tried in Hong Kong's court system.

“I have had many opportunities to flee HK, but I would rather stay and fight the United States government in the courts, because I have faith in Hong Kong’s rule of law,” Snowden is quoted as saying:

Snowden said yesterday that he felt safe in the city.

“As long as I am assured a free and fair trial, and asked to appear, that seems reasonable,” he said.

He says he plans to stay in Hong Kong until he is “asked to leave”.
