Showers have continued to drench coastal parts of northeast New South Wales and southeast Queensland, with some places seeing their heaviest April rain in half a decade.
The rain that soaked central NSW yesterday shifted north during the day as a weak low pressure trough moved up the coast and combined with moist onshore winds.
The highest totals were in the northeastern corner of NSW, with widespread falls of 50-70mm. Myocum received the highest total in the state with 95mm to 9am, while nearby Mullumbimby picked up 90mm, its heaviest April total in four years. Evans Head also copped a drenching with 82mm, the towns heaviest April rain in five years and heaviest rain since January.
