5 Questions Guaranteed To Help You Know Yourself Better

feature_image_template
When Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project spoke at World Domination Summit this past summer, she said that the key to happiness is to be more of who we are. In order to know who we are, she suggests that we ask ourselves a few key questions. Try writing down your answers to the following questions.

1. Who do you envy and why?

Gretchen says that when someone has something you want, that’s very useful information about who you want to be. Rather than focusing on the negative aspect of envy or the judgment you might put on yourself for feeling that way, focus on being grateful for this additional information about what you value and care about.

Enough

To those of you who do not seem to get enough rest, and you’ve tried everything, well, then, never mind about it. Drink your green tea, pinch yourself, be awake and have the idea that you are getting enough rest. No longer say: “Oh, I’m so tired. I don’t get enough sleep, etc.”

Give yourself some better propaganda.

Rest and appetite are not all they are cracked up to be. You can eat and eat when you have already had enough. You can crave sleep in the same way. Consider need for sleep as an appetite. You know very well that if you found out you won a big lottery today, you would be quite alert and wide wide awake!

What you tell yourself is important. Don’t turn yourself into an insomniac. Nothing is for you to make a big deal of.

You are well aware that I am all for your getting enough sleep. It is possible that you don’t really know what is enough for you at any given time. In any case, you don’t want to convince yourself that you are lacking anything. You have the resources within you to be fine. So be fine. Declare it. Own it. Let yourself know that you are doing well and rising above everything, even what the world might call not enough sleep.

Figures are arbitrary. They mean what you say they mean. With or without sleep, you are doing well. Remind yourself that you are not your body. You are ever so much more.

How to See Problems as Opportunities

feature_image_template

By Jason Demakis

Life throws us curve balls all the time; it's the nature of the game. How we choose to interpret these events (and how we define and label them on our personal scale of severity) is going to have a huge impact not only on our experience of perceived problems - but our ability to effectively work through them.

How this works is that our perceptions tend to break down into two main categories: problems as obstacles, and problems as opportunities. Let's explore both in detail and extract as much personal empowerment as possible, shall we?

“Enlightenment without action is hallucination.” ~ Unknown

The forests in most countries around the equator, such as the Brazilian Amazon, have suffered greatly. In the 1960’s they were cut down to make way for cattle ranching and crop cultivation. At that time, governments were quick to loosen their restrictions on protected lands to benefit from high beef prices, driven by the growing fast food industry and foreign agricultural interests. Thanks to funding from McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s, governments were able to give subsidies to local farmers to burn down sections of the rainforest and make room for cattle pastures, as well as cultivate large quantities of crop such as soybean and African palm.

Over the past few decades a significant and noteworthy amount of scientific research has emerged contributing to the notion that human precognition could very well be real, and that we all might possess this potential -amongst various other extended human capacities. Thanks to the research by various scientists presented in this article, extended human capacities are beginning to exit the realm of superstitious thinking, delusion and irrationality and find their way into the world of confirmed phenomena. Claims of precognition or “future telling” have occurred “throughout human history in virtually every culture and period.”

New UFO investigation hopes to solve mystery of ‘Britain’s Roswell’

A new petition hopes to get to the bottom of one of the most mysterious UFO incidents in the UK – the Rendlesham Forest Incident in 1980, where several soldiers witnessed lights, floating vehicles and strange marks which many thought were extraterrestrial craft landing.

The Rendlesham Forest sightings are often described as ‘Britain’s Roswell’.

Despite the release of a large Ministry of Defence file regarding the incident, UFO enthusiasts believe there is still information being covered up – and the new petition demands that all staff and all information be released from the Official Secrets Act.

Reports by retired soldiers such as Colonel Charles Halt sound seriously spooky: ‘While in Rendlesham Forest, our security team observed a light that looked like a large eye, red in colour, moving through the trees.

Daily Message ~ Saturday November 29, 2014

Many of you hold back, waiting for a situation to prove itself to you. We understand that you see this as being cautious but this is faulty thinking because if you are entering into any situation with doubt, fear or distrust, you are automatically blocking the flow and its ability to bloom into its full potential. Giving partial energy can only ever result in partial results.

Such an approach comes from fear of the unknown. Dear Ones, your life is not happening to you, it is responding to you! You are the one who sets the energetic tone for your life expression. When you finally accept your infinite ability to create, you will shine brightly and beautifully, and from there, will create the life of your dreams. ~Archangel Gabriel

Worthiness – a Key to Emotional Healing

By Nanice Ellis

Guest Writer for Wake Up World

Did you know that virtually every emotional wound is intertwined with issues of worthiness? In fact, feelings of unworthiness keep us from creating the lives we most desire. In order to heal our emotional wounds and consciously create, we must conquer our fears of unworthiness, but in order to do this, we must first understand why we are programmed to feel unworthy.

Like most “subconscious programs” the Worthiness Program is often passed down, unknowingly from our caretakers, but even, on the rare chance, that you did not inherit this program, by the time you are in first grade, the program officially begins.

On day one of first grade, we are taught that there is right and wrong, deserving and non-deserving, and passing and failing, all adding up to either worthy or not worthy. Year after year, with every test and evaluation, we must prove our worth. But not just worthy to move on to the next lesson, the next grade or to graduation, we are asked to prove that we are worthy of approval, acknowledgment, appreciation and even love.

A groundbreaking study published this month in Nature challenges a century old assumption about the innate pathogenicity of these extremely small, self-replicating particles known as viruses.

Titled, “An enteric virus can replace the beneficial function of commensal bacteria,” researchers found that an “enteric RNA virus can replace the beneficial function of commensal bacteria in the intestine.” Known as murine (mouse) noravirus (MNV), researchers found that infecting germ-free or antibiotic-treated mice infection with MNV “restored intestinal morphology and lymphocyte function without inducing overt inflammation and disease.”

How Dreaming Can Lead To Amazing Creative Breakthroughs

how-dreaming-can-lead-to-amazing-creative-breakthroughs

Sometimes people spontaneously generate creative solutions to difficult problems through non-traditional methods, such as through epiphanies, intuitions or dreams. Psychologists use the term Eureka! Effect to describe the process in problem solving when a previously unsolvable puzzle becomes suddenly clear and obvious.

While these types of Aha! moments do happen during conscious waking states, the ones that occur in dreams are particularly fascinating. While we sleep, we become connected to the unconscious creative aspects of ourselves. The dream state is an important, vital time where expressions of the self can come through without judgment and flow with clarity and honesty. By gaining access to the unconscious mind, we can begin to pull heavily from intuition and our deeper self-knowledge that might be concealed or suppressed during our day-to-day life.

Louisiana Town To Kill All Pit Bulls And Rottweilers – Those Who Don’t Surrender Face Police Action

A town in Louisiana has recently voted to ban all Pit Bulls and Rottweilers, calling them “vicious breeds” of dogs. Current owners of these specific breeds have just one more month to either move out of town, or hand their family pet over to the government to be killed.

While there has traditionally been heavy debate over larger breeds of dogs, in recent years the debate has began to die down, because an overwhelming majority of people now agree that like humans, a dog’s temperament and personality are largely based on their upbringing and life experiences.

Sadly, town officials in Moreauville, Louisiana are stuck in a very immature state of mind where they are basically prejudice against...

How to Develop the Four Primary Skills of All Meditation

Emancipation or freedom from slavery and bondage is ultimately what the human spirit craves. From the perspective of your spirit, slavery encompasses how the attachments in your life—such as sex, material items, money, power and all that they bring—prevent you from being free. Bondage has to do with the ways in which your ego (or collection of identities) and your karmic loops bind you into the reality you experience, and thereby limit your human growth. So the question is: How can you free your spirit and, in so doing, realise your human potential?

Making The Body Conscious

In Taoism, whether you meditate for your health, stress relief, high-performance goals or more lofty spiritual pursuits, the journey commences by progressively and systematically making the body conscious...

7 Ways to Love Yourself Without the Narcissism

In Greek mythology, Narcissus was praised by the gods for his unmatched beauty and extraordinary physique. Walking by a lake one day, he bent down to drink some water. Narcissus was mesmerized by his own beauty, but gripped with sorrow—unable to be with his own reflection, he died by bank of the lake.

The myth and moral against vanity and conceit is where we get the word narcissism. While self-absorption and egoism is unhealthy—so is having zero self-interest.

We think and live on extremes; to avoid selfishness, we swing to opposite end of the spectrum and end up in a detrimental self-abandonment. We forget the middle-ground.

Indeed the famous commandment even says “Love your neighbor as yourself.” You can only express what you experience, and explain what you understand. To love others without loving yourself is like trying to tell someone about a movie you’ve never seen.

Here are 7 healthy ways to love yourself without the narcissism:

1. A self-gratitude list.

We know gratitude reduces stress and boosts your immune system...
