New Evidence Shows That Early Man Was All About Hotboxing Their Caves

CavePainting

Huh. That’s something else. Archaeologists working in the Hindu Kush mountain range have unearthed 120,000 year old evidence that early man used cannabis. The team from Quad-i-Azam University in Pakistan discovered the cave, which contained Indica seeds and various other objects.

They also discovered resin inside of a jar, indicating that these people may not have been too different from us. We like hotboxing cars or small rooms, and they were all about hot boxing their caves apparently.

This is the oldest known instance of humans using cannabis to get high, but hemp has been used for thousands of years. Archaeologists have discover...

Sweet! This Hospital Is Using Good, Organic Food As Medicine

rodaleorganicfarm

It’s something that’s always confused me a little bit. Every time I visit someone in the hospital, it seems like they’re being served the Standard American Diet (SAD) instead of good, healthy food. It was Hippocrates who said “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” and we couldn’t agree more.

We’ve written before about the clear benefits of organic produce and why it’s so important to avoid pesticidesand one hospital in Pennsylvania is on board with helping cure folks with good, organic food.

St. Luke’s University Health Network has launched a farm to hospital program. St. Luke’s has 300 acres of farm land, which historically was used for mon...

Daily Message ~ Saturday September 27, 2014

One of the old, out-moded habits human beings most like to cling to is worrying. Worrying is like quicksand. It is very much immersing yourself in the energies of what you do not want. For every time you worry, you sink yourself a little deeper into the quicksand of the unwanted. We understand that you see worrying as being prudent, as making sure you are not unpleasantly surprised, as being prepared, just in case. But sadly, by choosing to stay steeped in the energy of what you do not want, you only ensure more of that very energy in your […]

Waking Times

Learning how to meditate is the most important thing that we can do while we are alive. It is our greatest asset on the road to self-realization, inner peace, personal and spiritual mastery, and embodying our highest potential. As a great Indian Sage once said, “That is real which never changes.” By learning how to meditate, we learn how to access this never-changing, infinite, and eternal aspect to who we are.

In this guide on how to meditate I will answer all of the basic questions of how to meditate, what meditation is, why it’s important, the benefits of meditation, and a basic exploration of the process itself (what we are doing when we meditate). This is the absolute basics of how to meditate, so if you need a more detailed and comp...

This Is What Love Does

What you have been searching for all your lives is the love in your own heart. You have veered a little off course. You thought it was love from others you were seeking. You thought you needed the world to love you when, all the while, it was your own love that you were seeking so desperately.

What standards of love do you impose upon yourself? You are good enough for Me. Cannot you be good enough for yourself? No longer find yourself wanting. You don’t have to be other than you are. You are My beloved right now. It doesn’t matter what you look like. It doesn’t matter how perfect or imperfect you are. It matters that you love yourself. Love yourself regardless, and then you will be able to love others regardless.

You are not born to Earth to find fault. You are here on Earth to engender love. That’s it. Life without giving love is a dry desert. Let your love be like living under the sun, and you are like the morning dew. It is for you to be the pause that refreshes. Be you the giver of My love.

If you are a bus driver, know you are more than one who drives a bus. You welcome everyone who boards the bus you drive, and you bless everyone who gets off. This is in the job description I give you. You open your heart so that others may open their hearts. You are personable, yet you are impersonal in your love. It is My love that you give. It is My love in your heart. That is the love that is yours to share. You are twice-blessed.

What did you think you were on Earth for? To amass or to give?

Shifting Realities, Feedback Loops and Truly Getting Free

wormhole-shanghai-tunnelZen Gardner, Guest

It appears things change more than we think – way more, and in more ways. Even when we’re aware of the underlying reality of constant change, we reference new changes by our memory and perception of old changes. And those were based on previous reference points.

We seem to often judge change by points of previous attachment, even though they continually shift. That cannot be very accurate no matter how real they were at the time. Things have shifted. And will continue to do so.

While assessing a particular situation, as my mind wandered backward to find context, I was surprised to re...

12 Common Symbols in Dreams and What They Mean

dreamfallingAnna Hunt, Staff Writer
Waking Times

“The dream is a little hidden door in the innermost and most secret recesses of the soul, opening into that cosmic night which was psyche long before there was any ego- consciousness, and which will remain psyche no matter how far our ego-consciousness extends.” ~ Carl Jung

Dreams give us an opportunity to look into our subconscious mind and may allow for a deeper understanding of personal psychological transformation during waking life. Much of the scientific study about the interpretation of the messages that we are given in our dreams has been based on the work of Carl Jung, a well-respected psychologist and psychiatrist, who believed that dreams are filled with symbols that stem from the unconscious.

"IT SEEMS THAT THERE MUST BE A RISK IN YOUR UNDERTAKING." There is nothing, no risk - because it is not an undertaking. I am not risking anything because there is nothing to risk, there is nothing to lose. All that is, always is. And that which is not, never is. So what is the risk?

If somebody comes and kills me, he kills only my body which is already dead, has always been dead - it is part of the earth. So, dust unto dust. He cannot kill me. I was before I was born, I will be after death has happened. So what has he done? Nothing serious; nothing of much importance. He may think he had done a very serious thing: that he has killed me, that he has crucified a Jesus or killed a Socrates. That is his idea. But in me, that which is matter is going to fall into matter and that which is consciousness is going to fall into consciousness, so nobody can kill me. You can shoot at me but you cannot shoot me. You can cut my head off, but your sword will not touch me. The sword is material and it cannot touch the spiritual.

There is no risk and there is no possibility of failure - because there is no possibility of success either. I cannot succeed so how can I fail? In fact, the very terminology of success, failure, benefit, loss, is absurd, irrelevant.

Misconceptions

There will always be people who have misconceptions about you.  Please keep in mind that each one of you have had your thoughts and feelings colored by your experiences.  It is not ‘good’ or ‘bad’, it just is.  The only time it becomes an issue is when you let another’s misconceptions dictate how you choose to live.  Allow yourself the time to realize that, regardless of what others think of you, you are and have always been exactly who you need to be in any given moment.  And that, my beautiful child, is enough. ~ Creator

Working With Your Chakras: How to Heal and Balance Your Energy Centers

HJ: We exist on multiple planes: the physical, the mental and the etheric/spiritual — and it is this third realm in which the Chakras become very important.  Although, they do affect the the mental and physical planes as well.  That is because the Chakras are ‘fundamental’ — since all originates from the etheric/spiritual planes, an imbalance in the chakras will automatically have effects on the physical and mental planes as well.

This can show up as imbalance or tendencies in the body and mind such as disease, depression and so on in the negative and happiness, health, peace of mind and centeredness in the positive.  And when highly developed, can result in the opening up of higher psychic abilities.

The guide below will give you some powerful tools to begin working with, balancing and healing your energy centers, also known as chakras.

The Light Side of the Dark Night of the Soul

The phenomenon known as the Dark Night of the Soul is something which many spiritual seekers experience on their journey to re-enlightenment. It can be a painful and frightening process, but it can also be liberating and empowering. It all depends on your perspective and your ability to remain detached.

Peeling the Onion

The word ‘night’ is misleading. This is a process, and thankfully so. I doubt you would want to experience the purification process all at once. My own Dark Night journey began in 199...

“The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.” -Karen S. Magee

In our pursuit of happiness we must first realize and accept that being happy is a deliberate choice; a choice we make every moment of every day. There are many strategies to help make attaining that goal possible. I will share the ones I feel are most important. Following is a list of twenty:

1. Have a Positive Outlook

The first and most obvious way to increase happiness in our lives is to have a positiv...

A couple of months ago top U.S. astronomers gathered in front of congress to let them know that extraterrestrial life exists without question. Their main argument was the size of the universe, emphasizing that there are trillions of stars out there, with one in every five most likely harboring an Earth-like planet. It’s also important to keep in mind that planets do not have to be “Earth-like” in order to harbor...

What Stands in the Way of Your Loving All?

There is nothing to do but to love. Loving seems hard to you sometimes or even often, yet it is your judgment that is hard. Without judgment, loving would be easy. Judgment stands in the way of your loving. You take judgment to heart instead of love. You believe in self-righteousness and being high and mighty. You tend to favor judgment and spurn love. This way you are faithful to judgment and unfaithful to love. You learned this along the way. You bet on the wrong horse. Unlearn judgment now.

Passionate to judgment, you forgo love. You make love wait.

At the very least, you tend to want to be loved first. You tend to want all or nothing. It is your own judgment that makes life hard for you.

What is letting go of the past but letting go of your judgment? Love benefits you. Judgment hampers. One person or thought is acceptable to you, and another is not. And so, in judgment, you juggle life. You toss life up into the air, and it falls on your judgment.

Your mind gives you permission to love or not. Too often your mind gives you little permission. Something is supposed to happen before you can give your love. It is like you fight loving tooth and nail, as if cause to love comes before love. You likely consider love as an investment that is supposed to earn a high yield on your behalf when love is meant to flow, not as tears, but like a mountain stream.
