Weak strombolian activity continues at the Bocca Nuova crater of Etna volcano.

Another weak seismic swarm is occurring at the Tjörnes Fracture Zone north of Iceland. It is probably tectonic in nature although some active volcanoes probably exist in this area as well.

Fuego volcano has been following its increasing trend of activity with 20 explosions reported between 3-4 Oct and 21 during 4-5 Oct, with ash plumes rising up to 1.2 km. Its violent eruption 3 weeks ago (on 13 Sep) still in mind, local residents and media are getting nervous about this behaviour.

Santiaguito continues at rather low levels. Some red glow is visible at night and there are occasional weak explosions with ash rising a few 100 meters. Lava flows are active on the NE and SE sides of the cone.

Popocatépetl has increased its activity. During 3-4 Oct, it produced 12 explosions, and 32 during 4-5 Oct, a few of which produces ash plumes up to 1-2 km height. Glow is visible from the crater at night. Seismic activity is low and the alert status remains unchanged.

Some smaller ash emissions occurred at Sheveluch volcano last night and were detected on satellite images.

Sakurajima volcano remains quite active with 5 weak to moderate explosions during the past 24 hours.

Pagan volcano in the Marianas continues to steam, but there has probably not been other activity USGS reports.
