Total Solar Eclipse
eye of the hurricane
We must be still and still moving
Into another intensity
For a further union, a deeper communion
Through the dark cold and the empty desolation
The wave cry, the wind cry, the vast waters
In my end is my beginning. - T.S. Elliot
Hurricane Sandy was a massive storm of emotion, assembled by mass consciousness. A Hurricane of Consciousness. It was Flood, Wind, Fire, Electricity and Snow: http://bit.ly/X7p8Fa. With Saturn now in Scorpio (a water sign) and Neptune in Pisces (also a water sign), emotional cleansing is the name of the game. That is why we were urged to LET GO as described in my last newsletter (Click here to read it http://conta.cc/X6NsqG) so that we would be less burdened and more prepared for the surge of emotional clearing that is now upon us.
With such swells of emotion and because of the intensity of what this storm has dealt us, it is easy to get swept up in fear. In the years leading up to this fabled year of 2012, we have seen many apocalyptic movies permeating our culture and mass-mind. One of them is actually called '2012' and depicts the end of the world and a new Noah's Arc stemming from the end of the world on 12/21/12. Watching the images of Sandy and other recent disasters triggers a lot of primal survival fears that date back to our ancient past.
These times are characterized by a powerful driving force: The Cardinal Cross. The Cardinal Cross which clicked into place in the Summer of 2010 and still remains in the form of a powerful square between Uranus and Pluto, until 2015. This configuration blasts us with extreme pressure to CHANGE - pressure that is not unlike a hurricane. This vice is being applied to all of us right now. See the last section, below, for more information on how to deal with the natural fear that comes up in the face of such devastation and trauma.
Breathing for the Emerging Neo(natal): One of the most dramatic and poignant scenes that emerged in the initial hours after Hurricane Sandy slammed ashore in New York City was that of a hospital evacuation due to loss of electricity and subsequent backup generator failure. In that moment we saw images of nurses carrying premature babies from the neo-natal unit and manually administering oxygen to them while they were moving them to another hospital. Here is the full story:
NYU Hospital Evacuation: Nurses Manually 'Breathed' For Babies After Hurricane Sandy Causes Power Outage
This image contains profound codes for the experience we are going through right now. We are BREATHING FOR the infant awakening humanity, we are holding it and breathing into it, incubating it and transferring it to a new structure.
The Cardinal Cross mentioned above was a formation in the sky which included 3 heavy hitter planets at the most sensitive points of the zodiac lining up into a potential Cross formation. The 4th leg of the Cross was missing a major planet; it only clicked into perfect formation when a planet or the moon moved into place in the empty spot of Zero Degrees Cancer. So the sign of Cancer was the *missing energy* of the Cross. Cancerian is the nurturing sign of the Mommy. In the image of the nurses breathing for the babies, we saw a screenshot of the new Cancerian showing us how to use the Cancerian energy in a progressive (not regressive/tribal) way - i.e. to nurture the new world being born.
Symbols of the stresses to the current financial structures abound in our world, but there were several stark ones during this hurricane which is literally stressful to structures:
About one year ago, the Occupy Wall Street movement (born on September 17, 2011) camped out in the financial district of New York City, near Wall Street, an alarm clock for the global consciousness of the slumbering 99% of humanity. Under the effects of Hurricane Sandy, Wall Street WAS occupied. "Hurricane Sandy closed the financial markets in New York City for at least two days marking the first time in 27 years weather has forced a shutdown of the world's financial capital." http://cbsn.ws/X7pyva
New York is the financial HEART of the entire planet. It is the Mecca of the Plutocracy, represented in our current times by Pluto in Capricorn. What is interesting to me is that 27 years ago was the last time Saturn was in Scorpio, an energy that - like Pluto in Capricorn - isn't tolerant of corrupt behavior. Massive corruption in the nerve center of NYC's Wall Street was exposed in the stock market crash of September of 2008, right before Pluto entered Capricorn. Saturn in Scorpio is made even more potent by this historic presence of Pluto in Capricorn (something that only happens about every 250 years). Neptune in Pisces (water water water, water) is a cleansing agent to help wash away what is shaken down.
Other images revealed signs of this cleansing: First the gaping wound of the United States - the site of the 9/11 attacks - was turned into a veritable Niagara Falls, a fountain of gushing water: "World Trade Center memorial construction site flooded" http://youtu.be/DM_rgXHcV8U Then the subterranean (Plutonic Underworld) regions of the vortex that is New York was also purged with water: "New York subway system flooded in 'worst ever disaster'" http://bit.ly/X7pWdg
The ship where they filmed the movie 'Mutiny on the Bounty' was sunk by Hurricane Sandy: "Hurricane Sandy Sinks HMS Bounty, Heroic Rescue Mission, Two People Missing. The U.S. Coast Guard rescued 14 people when the ship sunk in the Atlantic Ocean."http://abcn.ws/X7pHyR. This brings to mind the presence of an ever growing Mutiny against our corrupt systems, which now much be restructured with integrity.
It's the global warming, stupid. - Businessweek magazine, October 31, 2012 http://huff.to/RxIEWe
One of the effects of the Superstorm Sandy is that mass consciousness has been directed toward the reality of climate change: "Can Sandy Help Jolt America Out of Climate Change Denial?" http://bit.ly/X7q4t5 It isn't theory any more; our weather is changing. It doesn't even matter why. We need to act accordingly. To bring this point home, the name of this storm is definitely uncanny:
"Never has a hurricane been more aptly, if tragically, named than Sandy. Sandy is short for Cassandra, the Greek mythological figure who epitomizes tragedy. The gods gave Cassandra the gift of prophecy; depending on which version of the story one prefers, she could either see or smell the future. But with this gift also came a curse: Cassandra's warnings about future disasters were fated to be ignored."
"And so it has been with America's response to climate change. For more than 20 years, scientists and others have been warning that global warming, if left unaddressed, would bring a catastrophic increase in extreme weather: summers like that of 2012, when the United States endured the hottest July on record and the worst drought in 50 years; mega-storms like the one now punishing the East Coast. Hurricanes are fueled by hot ocean surface temperatures; the Atlantic Ocean is about 5 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than usual this fall, and about 15 per cent of this extra heat is directly due to global warming, Katharine Hayhoe of the University of Texas has noted. The flooding unleashed by Sandy is especially destructive, Kayhoe adds, because global warming has caused sea levels in the New York region to rise by one foot over the past century. But scientists' warnings have been by and large ignored..." - Mark Hertsgaard writing for Aljazeera" http://aje.me/X7qbox
Hertsgaard continues: "Perhaps the devastation of America's greatest city, its centre of commerce, finance and, tellingly, the news media - will cause the nation to wake up and take serious action." Indeed. Saturn brings a dose of reality to everything it touches.
Superstorm Sandy also destroyed many of the boardwalks, piers, roller coasters and Ferris wheels along the east coast, seaside towns and cities that many of us remember from our childhood. Large sections of the boardwalk of Atlantic City, New Jersey were destroyed: http://cbsn.ws/X7qfo8. Ocean City Maryland was also pummeled: http://cbsn.ws/X7qhwr Not to mention numerous other sunny-memoried locations of our 'golden' past. My parents honeymooned in Atlantic City and I have many pleasant memories of summer vacations spent there. And so, that missing Cardinal Cross energy - Cancerian, factors in here once again. The sign of Cancer is the sign of house, home, the past, childhood, nostalgia and homesickness. There is a particular ache created at the thought of the bygone 'good old days' which will never return to us. The old world is passing away. We are growing up.
Most prophetically perhaps, the town of 'The Jersey Shore' TV series was totally destroyed: http://yhoo.it/X7qiAA I feel deeply sad concerning the loss felt by all involved. Once all is healed and repaired, we might reflect upon this. I know that 'The Jersey Shore' TV show represents one of the more shallow aspects of our materialistic culture - Reality TV. Astrologically, Saturn is the governor of the REAL. Saturn is REALITY at Its Essence. Saturn might say "Reality? That's not reality." And under Pluto's influence, shallow materialistic structures won't stand. As we begin to recover from this catastrophe, infrastructure must be strengthened. We have to build on solid ground.
In Buddhist tradition, eclipses are observed as high holy days because they amplify our prayers and intent exponentially. What we hold in our thought and intention at these times reverberates throughout time, space and all dimensions. - Allison Rae
Eclipses amplify whatever we're doing by millions of times. So make good karma nowand try not to be harmful in any way. Say your prayers, make your wishes, do your mantras, and sing your chants before you go to bed. - Vickie Noble

We are standing within an eclipse vortex. As the quotes above suggest, what we think and feel are always important - but especially so when under an eclipse (which is unstable energy with great potential). And so, as we asked previously in this newsletter, how can resist tumbling into fear, especially the 2012 fear programming from our media. It's not easy to stay out of fear when everything is crumbling around you.
To answer that, here's another question for you: Which timeline are you energizing? Madeline Gerwick describes a process for anchoring the feeling of safety and other positive experiences:
"This process is from The Isaiah dead sea scroll, and is an ancient technology that works miracles. If you want to learn more about it, read 'The Isaiah Effect' by Gregg Braden. Basically, all possibilities already exist in various different timelines. The Universe, God, Goddess, etc has already answered all prayers and created all possibilities. We activate the timeline we're living in through our thoughts and feelings. When we FEEL stressed, we create more stress. When we FEEL happy, we create more happiness. When we FEEL joyful about something now, even though it's in the future, we bring that future to us." - Madeline Gerwick http://bit.ly/TrfuG9
This is the stuff of the new Aquarian world that is taking shape now. Working with timelines - all in a day's work for your average Aquarian. But it has a truly homey, Cancerian application. We can use this process to create safety and refuge from fear. So right now, we have to find a way to FEEL SAFE. To feel protected. To feel hopeful for our rebuilding on firm ground. To feel the love of those near and far who are helping and caring with thought, prayers and hands-on assistance.
No matter what your circumstances are - whether you've been hit with earth changes and devastation of one sort or another (economic, physical, emotional etc) - you can ease your own suffering and help all of humanity by taking some time to get into a space of feeling safe and protected by seen and unseen forces.
Do whatever you can, reach for a thought or a person or a place or an activity (in the eye of the storm) that will make you feel safe. It could be a teddy bear, a hot cup of coffee from your favorite neighborhood coffee shop, or from the Red Cross. It could be a hug, watching hopeful stories in the media concerning the storm (focus on the positive stories as soon as you can), listening to your favorite music, talking with a friend about your fears - someone who can ground you and remind you that you are going to be ok.
Then take one small moment to go within, breathing deeply, and drop your consciousness down into your heart where Spirit lives. Think of something or someone you love, or of a time when you felt happy, loved, safe and secure. Remember that time you sat by a roaring fire with friends or family by your side? Remember when your kitten curled up with you on the couch? Remember having a hot cup of tea and reading a good book or sharing conversation with a friend?
When you capture and feel and radiate that feeling of safety, then say to yourself: I AM SAFE. I AM PROTECTED. I AM SUPPORTED AND SURROUNDED BY LOVE AND ASSISTANCE. ALL IS WELL. ALREADY HAPPENED. ALREADY HERE.
Then you can pay it forward and help others around you. We are seeing communities coming together as people reach out to each other in this disaster. Compassionate service --- loving, caring for and helping others (beginning with nurturing self love) --- is the key to untangling all of our human problems.
