I just completed gilding this lovely 16" Buddha statue. I am pleased with how it turned out. It fits nicely in the meditation room. I have two more that I wish to paint. I want to use one of them as a model to carve a Buddha out of a block of limestone. Perhaps this will be a summer project. The stone quarry Is just a few miles down the road and is noted for it's quality limestone. I want to acquire a larger Buddha for the meditation garden.
I do not understand why people worship the Buddha, but I use to look for someone to save me. I now understand that no one can save me but myself. The Buddha is a symbol of the mirror of perfection. After I have peeled away the many layers of illusion, I AM set free.These statues are little reminders of the path I walk.
I ask myself what are the changes that are taking place within me, I see with such clarity and I feel a greater capacity to love without judgement. The world is in a state of drama and I feel no need to participate in it. I do not need to change anyone, I do not need to be right. Spending time alone in silence.........I am a hollow reed that the universe flows through.
These words are not wishful thinking. They are real and many people from around the world, are also experiencing them. I dreamed of being happy, but those dreams do not even come close to what I AM experiencing. Namaste.....
