10 Quotes From a Sioux Indian Chief That Will Make You Question Everything About “Modern” Culture

Luther Standing Bear was an Oglala Lakota Sioux Chief who, among a few rare others such as Charles EastmanBlack Elk and Gertrude Bonnin occupied the rift between the way of life of the Indigenous people of the Great Plains before, and during, the arrival and subsequent spread of the European pioneers. Raised in the traditions of his people until the age of eleven, he was then educated at the Carlisle Indian Industrial Boarding School of Pennsylvania, where he learned the english language and way of life. (Though a National Historical Landmark, Carlisle remains a place of controversy in Native circles.)

"We did not think of the great open plains, the beautiful rolling hills, the winding streams with tangled growth, as ‘wild’. Only to the white man was nature a ‘wilderness’ and only to him was it ‘infested’ with ‘wild’ animals and ‘savage’ people. To us it was tame. Earth was bountiful and we were surrounded with the blessings of the Great Mystery."

Wi-Fi Exposure: Is It Really More Hazardous to Children?

Because of modern communications technologies, our exposure to EMF continues to increase. Appliances such as TVs, microwaves and smart meters all emit microwave radiation, but more importantly so do all of our personal, wirelessly-connected devices such as cell phones, tablets and laptops.

Researchers are now questioning if exposure to Wi-Fi, and the increasing usage of Wi-Fi connected devices by children and adolescents, are putting the younger generations at a greater risk of health complications in their future.

A new report entitled, “Why children absorb more microwave radiation than adults: The consequences,” published in the Journal of Microscopy and Ultrastructure addresses this issue. The report’s authors, L. Lloyd Morgana, Santosh Kesarib, and Devra Lee Davisa, based their findings from peer-reviewed studies. They argue that exposure to radiation given off by wireless devices can be very risky for children and teens because a young brain is more absorbent and the skull is thinner.

Cannabis Reduces Brain Damage Caused By Booze, Say Scientists

16104444548_a6fb73f872_o

According to a new study published in the journal Pharmacology and Behavior, chemicals within cannabis have antioxidant properties that protect the brain’s cells from damage caused by excessive consumption of alcohol.  This study outlines how excessive alcohol consumption results in neuro-degeneration, as well as a variety of behavioral and cognitive impairments. But the delivery of cannabidiol transdermally has shown promising in treating that degeneration. The study concludes that CBD transdermal treatments are effective for this.

The results of this study justify further preclinical development of transdermal CBD for the treatment of alcohol-induced neuro-degeneration. It has been suggested that the neuroprotective effects of CBD observed during binge alcohol induced neurodegeneration are due to its high antioxidant capacity, but more research is needed.

Have You Hacked into Infinity?

What does it mean that something can change in a heartbeat? It means it takes an instant, probably an instant between beats. This is how illness can be undone in an instant. This is how good will can take over the world. This is how work can be done.

Plodding is necessary in the present world because plodding is believed in. It takes time to accomplish this or that. If time does not truly exist, why would it take time?

In terms of the world, Rome wasn’t built in a day. In terms of the world, who can argue this?

At the same time, there have been instant cures and instant miracles of diverse kinds. These miracles may have happened because, as in science fiction, the one upon whom a miracle was bestowed, somehow slipped out of time or witnessed a non-passage of world time.

At night you have had dreams that went on and on, and yet, in truth, the dream may have taken place in a mere instant.

As you get older, the past does seem more and more like a dream, and somehow, now the dream’s continuity becomes fleeting, as if what had been a sequence actually happened all at once in one instant and wasn’t really parked anywhere. Your life may be a long story to tell in words, and, yet, your life is a flash of an instant of no-time.

Have you hacked into Infinity? It would seem so. You, an ordinary person like you who doesn’t know much and may even admit this, somehow you hacked into Infinity, OR you were hacked into Infinity for an instant of no time.

Who is who and what is what?

I am not just teaching you about God. I am not interested in giving you knowledge about God. I am sharing my God with you; it is a sharing. I want to challenge your God which is asleep inside you, to provoke it. And that is the work Sufis have been doing down the ages: provoking the potential into the actual.

Do Cat Purrs Have Healing Abilities?

We all know that the ancient Egyptians worshipped felines to a marvelous extent. There’s no question that these civillians openly celebrated the value of cats and even glorified them remarkably. Their art, culture, and interpreted lifestyle seem to revere cats prominently. This information is well known, yet most of us have often wondered their reasoning behind this unusual behavior. Few have made speculations, but we really just haven’t been able to sufficiently verify these assumptions. Is it possible that the ancients knew something that we might have missed..? Further examination suggests this may likely be the case!

Current domestic findings have lead us to the rediscovery of many key factors. These points primarily correspond to the mystery of this “kitty loving conduct,” and as it turns out- the most critical element may most likely be obscured in a uniquely produced self-healing ability, that is exhibited throughout all feline species.

Color My World

By John Holland

It’s often said that every living thing is a rainbow of colors. Every color has its own meaning and affects you in uniquely different and profound ways. When it is Spring and I am able to be outdoors, whether it’s driving in a car or walking my dog in a local park, I notice and appreciate even more now the colors of nature that are vibrantly coming forth. The clear blue sky dotted with white clouds, the new green growth of the earth, the multitude of hues coming from blooming flowers, the different tones of browns and tans from the trees, even the many colors of the variety of birds that have arrived after a long winter, all have a positive effect on me as I take them in and let them blend with my own aura.

Many people don’t realize the importance of color in that each one vibrates to its own different frequency. We all have a main color in our aura, but there are many other colors in our aura that do change based on what’s happening around us physically, mentally, emotionally, and yes even spiritually...

NASA Cuts ISS Live Feed As 'UFO' Appears

They did it in the sixties. And they're still doing it now.

A strange grey UFO has caused something of a stir in the conspiracy community after NASA caught the object on its ISS live feed camera and then promptly cut the lived feed as soon as it appeared.

The small, grey object is seen coming up over the horizon and then disappearing just moments later as NASA cuts the feed and switches to another of the cameras.

The Key to Feeling Fulfilled Now

Feel-Alive and fulfilled

“By letting go of our insatiable desire to fix and change everyone and everything around us, we give ourselves the space to focus our attention on the true source of our own happiness, success and fulfillment… Ourselves!” – Mike Robbins – Nothing Changes Until You Do.

At any given moment, we have but one task, one “goal” per se that should be achieved. That task is to be and feel fulfilled. In this life of ours, it is really the only thing we can and should strive for. Now for most, the idea of a perfectly fulfilled existence probably looks nothing like the life they are living right now. Maybe they do not have the job they truly want, they don’t have their dream car or are not in that fairy tale relationship they always hoped for. So they struggle. They struggle, and try this tactic and they try that tactic in order to reach this alleged “finish line” of fulfillment.

The Heart Consciousness – a Neurological Perspective

Heart Consciousness - a Neurological Perspective

By Dr. Fahad Basheer

Guest Writer for Wake Up World

During organ transplantation there have been numerous reports of emotions, memories and experiences being transferred along with the organ which is being transplanted, from the donor to the recipient. Dr. Paul Pearsall has collected the cases of 73 heart transplant patients and 67 other organ transplant recipients and published them in his book, “The Hearts Code” (1). Here is a sample of a case that has been reported.

Transplant recipient develops desire for chicken nuggets and green peppers.

On May 29, 1988, an American woman named Claire Sylvia received a heart transplant at a hospital in Yale, Connecticut. She was told that her donor was an 18 year-old male from Maine who had just died in a motorcycle accident.

The Path to Heaven: Freeing Ourselves from Beliefs

Written by Wes Annac, The Culture of Awareness

I’m reaching a point where I no longer want to pour my faith into any specific belief. Every belief contains its truths and untruths, and like a lot of people have realized, we can take what works for us from each belief and let the rest fall away.

I’ve been writing about open-mindedness lately, and like I said in a recent article, an important part of being open-minded is being diligent enough not to put all our energy and attention into a certain belief just because it’s more appealing than the distorted religions we’ve grown out of.

It’s obvious that contemporary religion’s been distorted to keep us from genuinely understanding spirituality, but we don’t really help ourselves by embracing other philosophies that are more appealing.

4 Ways Manipulation is Detrimental to Relationships

Manipulation is a dangerous tool in relationships. Most of the time we are unconscious of our doing but sometimes, a little voice inside us says, “You know you are doing this to keep her around”. What happens when we don’t listen?

I had a personal experience that evolved and ended badly because of my (at the time unconscious) manipulation of someone’s interest in me. I interjected my energy into his, posted the right pictures on Facebook, wore the outfits he would like and highlighted sides of my personality that would get him hooked. As a result, several unpleasant things happened. I listed some of the major ramifications of manipulation that I find to be common in not just myself but in other people whose stories I become intimate with.

  1. It creates a platform of distrust...

The Consciousness Revolution

By Graham Hancock

Guest Writer for Wake Up World

Consciousness is one of the great mysteries of science – perhaps the greatest mystery. We all know we have it, when we think, when we dream, when we savour tastes and aromas, when we hear a great symphony, when we fall in love, and it is surely the most intimate, the most sapient, the most personal part of ourselves. Yet no one can really claim to have understood and explained it completely. There’s no doubt it’s associated with the brain in some way but the nature of that association is far from clear. In particular..

How do these three pounds of material stuff inside our skulls allow us to have experiences?
