With the New Year upon us, many people are in the throes of their resolutions. Resolutions feel like such a burden to me, so instead, I switch it up...

Dr. Michael Hart of London, Ontario stands out among most physicians in Canada. He’s one of the few who has voiced his support for medical marijuana.

A new program introduced in April allows all Canadian physicians to write cannabis recommendations for patients who they think would benefit from the drug. Dr. Hart, among a handful of other physicians, have set up practices based on the treatment. Many physician groups are pushing back against the new rules. Additionally, the Canadian Medical Association and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada are warning doctors against prescribing cannabis.

People don’t realize the effects of their actions, words and decisions as they seem to take so long to take effect in the long run. That’s a manifestation of the semi-conscious mind at work. We expect quick results when so much is way deeper than surface appearances and understandings.

I’m addressing the awakening and those working to effect it. If these controllers can work their nefarious program this slowly over centuries, so must we be willing to see our desired arousal of humanity in many ways. Admittedly we need something fast and furious in light of what they’re foisting upon humanity, but it’s an organic process, much like spring reaching the roots and branches of budding nature which blossoms in the crescendo of life.

What a statement the people have made with their response, along with the millions of posts on social media. Where we could have seen anger and fear we are seeing unity and solidarity. Where we could have seen outbreaks of violence we are seeing witty, brilliant creativity, peace, strength and connection. Consumers who simply glance at labels before they toss food into their grocery carts may not be eating what they think they are. The purpose of the food label is to help you make healthy choices so you can eliminate toxins and still eat the foods you enjoy. If you get in the habit of reading and understanding food labels, you are on your way to a healthy diet and good foundation in preventing disease. The problem is, they only tell half the story.

Food labels say how many calories a food contains. But what they don’t say is that how many calories you actually get out of your food depends on how highly processed it is.

“Companies are trying to reposition the same old line of processed foods as nutritious and healthy by portraying wholesome ingredients on the fronts of packages, but not really putting those ingredients in any significant quantities in the box,” Bruce Silverglade, Center for Science in the Public Interest’s (CSPI) director of legal affairs stated.
